White Tomb
830px-Image14

The White Tomb is the only known burial site at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is located on the shores of the Lake. This was the final resting place for former Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, who willingly sacrificed himself in the service of The Order of the Phoenix, while fighting Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters during the Second Wizarding War. The tomb was originally expanded to lay to rest Severous Snape who died to protecting Hogwarts from Lord Voldemort, and now also includes the graves of teachers who gave their lives fighting for Hogwarts.

The weather is appropriately mild but not too freezing: warm enough for Kevin to sit by the Tomb, obscured from the view of the lake, with his nose buried in a book all about animagi. His conversation with Professor Willard is still swirling around his head with a rush of dizzy excitement - or is it relief? Whatever it is, he's flying through the book, already halfway through with his hoodie sleeves pulled over his hands.

She's avoiding humanity, just how she does every day after a transformation. She doesn't look too well, with a pale face compared to her natural tan, and downcast eyes. She has her Alien sweater thrown on, brown curls hanging out her hoodie. She has a strong ache in her bones, which isn't helped by her walking out in the grounds. It's a Tuesday - she has Transfiguration soon, but she doesn't intend to show up. He'll understand.

The approach of nearby footsteps has him react like he would at home: scrabble, run for cover. But then he looks up and sees Vic, or a very worn-down image of Vic, and relaxes. "Y'alright, Vic?" he calls to her from the floor, a little shadowed in the dusk. "You look - well, like you could use a kip."

She withholds a groan when she hears that unmistakeable Irish accent. Don't get her wrong, she likes Kevin, but she really isn't interested in socializing. "I'm tired," she admits, as she continues walking down the path, head turning to find the boy. "I'm also still not Irish. Care to enlighten me on what kip is?"

The bite in her voice makes him shrink into his clothes a little, a sheepish smile rising to his face in apology. "It means sleep. Going for a kip."

"Oh. Siesta," she realizes and nods. Seeing him, she takes a turn and plops down next to him; she's too nice to just continue walking. "Yeah, I could. I tried getting some last night, but with the ache in my bones and the newly transformed students, it's a little hard. Someone has to be vigilant, you know?"

Nodding, he dogears the book and sets it aside, cover up. "I'm awful at staying awake," he says, aimlessly. "I do my best but it always happens - me, out cold and sleeping in 'till midday and being late for all of my classes." He grins, big and cheesy - more to cheer her up than anything. "Healthy."

For a moment, she's surprised he didn't make a remark about the tranforming students. He hadn't been around during the time she was outed, so it wasn't like he knew. Regardless, she couldn't help but feel a bit relief. Lord knows how he may have reacted. "That's me always," she smiles weakly, mostly just so he doesn't feel like he failed. "What were you doing out here?"

His eyes dart cautiously to the book, aware that a move now to conceal it would be far too obvious, so he swallows and replies, "Reading. Nothing special. Where were you off to?" he tacks onto the end.

So you're a werewolf, I'm training to become a bird and I'm guessing there's loads of us running around here, since you said some kids were transforming earlier. Is there a pack of you running around?" he grins, completely free of mocking, more of genuine amusement.

If they shift during full moons to keep us company, anyways."

Val came here mostly to avoid her 'brothers'. After the fiasco at the Retro, she was actually sort of trying to avoid everyone. So here she was, eating her lunch at the Tomb. She sat against the white stone, sprinkling the red liquid on her scone before taking a bite, staring over the lake.
