The Viaduct Courtyard (also known as the Entrance Courtyard) is a quadrangle in Hogwarts Castle. A covered stone cloister with an open colonnade runs around it, and two checkpoint towers flank its entryway via the Viaduct. There is a stone walkway leading from this courtyard into The Quad, and into the Viaduct Entrance. The courtyard is partially paved, in a cross pattern. A popular hang-out spot for students of all Houses, this courtyard is where some students spend their spare time playing Gobstones.
On 1 September 1998, Hogwarts students marched through this Courtyard, under the supervision of Death Eaters Alecto and Amycus Carrow and Headmaster Severus Snape, as they were led into the Castle.

Unfortunately for Maia, she bumped into one right after having the thought. Like literally. The other first year almost made her fall. Fortunately for Maia, it was EQ that she ran into and he was one of the sane ones. "Oh, sorry - I didn't even see you there. I was just trying to get away from the commotion as fast as I could." EQ admitted sheepishly with a charming Schmidt smile. He thought he remembered her being sorted into Ravenclaw like him if his memory wasn't failing.

Picking up on her heavy French accent, EQ didn't feel so different with his own German one. Sure, it had mixed with English over the years, but most people still couldn't pick it out. "Tell me about it." He chuckled, shaking his head a bit. "We have a very... interesting year group." He decides on the word, although they both know he really means ridiculous.

Well, this is a nice change from those rude, impolite jerks. He thought as he stretched his hand out to shake hers. "Name's EQ, nice to meet you." He introduced himself with a short nod. "And I just feel bad for the teachers." EQ admitted in reference to the new haul of devil children.

"I think DADA will be cool." EQ decided with a shrug. "Although, my cousin told me they're doing temporary tattoos in Charms, so that's pretty cool too." He added, thinking about the different classes. "I'm just excited to explore the castle to be honest with you."

He gave her a nod in response. "Yeah, most of my family thought I was going into Ravenclaw - guess they were right." EQ decided, shrugging a shoulder. "I think it'll be great, but I just wish some of my cousins had been sorted into my house as well." He admitted.

Good question. EQ almost laughed at the thought. Too many honestly. Let's see, there was Cass, Lena, Wolfgang, Astrid, Leyla, Mila, and Adrian? Was that all? "I think there's eight of us in total. Assuming I didn't miss anybody." EQ admitted with a chuckle. "In a couple of years, we could probably start our own school with how many of us there are."
