The VP Info Edit

Francis Lévesque was born to Pierre and Marie-Élise Lévesque. His family was a rather normal, middle class family. The family owned a diner on a small, wizarding street. It was a nice, family oriented place. People from all around loved it. Francis began to help his parents in the diner at the age of 12, serving as a server for customers. Pierre was happy for his son's demonstration of responsibility. A few years later, Francis' father joined the Ministry's military to help fight off a rising revolt in Switzerland. Francis took over for Francis in the restraunt, and continued to help his mother even more in his father's absense. The restraunt began doing better when Francis led. This was the first of many examples of Francis' excellent leadership. The diner began making more money, allowing Francis to hire new employees to help around.

A couple of years later, after Francis graduated from Beauxbatons, Marie-Élise retired from the restraunt business. Francis decided it would be best to close down the diner. The last meal from the diner was sold to a recruiter from the Ministry. The two of them spoke for a while. Eventually, the recruiter asked Francis if he wanted to join the fight down in Switzerland. Francis accepted. The recruiter excitedly told Francis that he'd put the paperwork through and that he should get an owl in a few weeks. Francis nodded, going to his mother, told her the news. Instead of excited, she was rather concerned for Francis' safety. The two argued with Francis eventually storming out. A few weeks later, Francis received the owl. It told him that he'd be stationed in St. Gallen to lead Bloom Squadron in the fight against an rebellion led by a man named Etele Bagi.

Francis led his squad into battle on several occasions. One of them was the Ambush at St. Gallen, an amush led by the rebels that devastated the underground hideout of Bloom Squad. The squad narrowly escaped. These battles earned Francis the rank of Lietuenant and, eventually, Major. One day, Francis got a owl. It had said that Etele had launched a devastating attack in the main outpost in the Swiss capital. Thousands of wizard and innocent Muggles were killed. The Muggles that survived had their memory erased and the city was quickly repaired to avoid suspicion by the Muggles. Francis was in a state of shock. Thousands of innocent lives, gone. What was worse for Francis was that his father were killed in the attack. Francis made a vow that day to find Etele and take down his rebellion.

Francis led many assaults on rebel outposts and training camps, hoping for even the slightest clue of Etele's location. Francis was eventually promoted to Colonel, allowing him more resources in his search for the mastermind. Britain could not assist, as they were occupied with Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Francis began gaining clues on the location of Etele from abandoned rebel outposts and interrogated rebels. Francis put the pieces together. He guessed that Etele wasn't even in Switzerland at all. He hypothesized that Etele was in Hungary. He knew the risks.

Francis' forces traveled to Hungary. They came across an entrance to a hidden base underground. They entered. The battle began. Francis' forces took down the rebels relatively easy. Something wasn't right. They entered Etele's chamber. Etele was waiting for them. The door closed and locked, the Alohomora charm not effective. It was a trap. Rebels jumped out of nowhere. They were countless. Francis' forces was losing. Etele was getting away. Francis would not let that happen. He shot a Stunning Spell at Etele. His blocked it. The two of them were in a chamber. Their spells clashed. Etele began overpowering Francis. Francis put all his energy into it. He overpowered Etele and disarmed him. Francis' forced came in the room and surrounded Etele. He could do nothing. Etele surrendered. Francis and his forces returned to Switzerland with Etele. The war was over. The rebels were all rounded up and captured or killed. Etele was interrogated on remaining rebels and his other plans, then was execute in the Swiss capital. Francis had received the Medal of Magic as well as a Order of Merlin, 1st class, for his services in the call of duty.

Francis was granted the rank of General after the war. He was in charge of the recovery effort in Switzerland. Two years later, Francis decided to retire from the military to go into the Ministry. For the next several years, Francis would serve was the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Francis' command helped catch many criminals, making France a little more safe. Once the election came around, Francis decided to run against Mademoiselle Genevieve Bellefleur. The vote ended in a close tie, but Bellefleur won. Francis was able to take over as Vice President, becoming the second in command, under Bellefleur herself.

AnswersEdit

I never mind answering questions. Firstly, the finals are currently left up to the teacher's discresion, though that may change with ministry enforcement in the coming years. For my transfiguration class, I had the written homework here, and I'll have a rp based final, with the kinds doing a few spells/tasks I ask them to with spells they learned from the class this year. I'll average the grade of the two, and that will be their grade. For those who weren't here for the class and never did the homework, I'll figure something out...possibly give them the average grade (so 7 or 8 out of 10).

Let's see, your next question was ah yes, the finals will be for all subjects. Check out the schedule in any of the common rooms. Week 11 is finals for the core subjects, and week 12 is finals for the elective subjects. Technically everyone has to sit the final for the core subjects, and you only take the final for the elective subjects that you took.

...and yes, since Cosmiggy left if you wouldn't mind taking over the class, I would appriciate it. If you don't want to, let me know, and I'll work something out. It's hard to run a school with teachers leaving all the time... Bond_em7 (Owl Me) 13:33, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

My first thought is no. The reason I say that is that we only have 3-4 weeks left, and the last 2 are finals. I think it would probably take more time than that to arrage and run a tournament. There are at least 2, if not 3 quidditch matche left, which I'm trying to get in, and we're all doing a lot of work on the GLE's and the ministry storyline, with the world leaders. All that being said, we do need more users, and we have a spotlight coming up on May 30th, which runs for a couple weeks, so having events like that would seem a good idea. I'll take a look at the rules and such, but if you get the chance, ask other admins/B-crats their opinions, and if they would be willing to put in the time to make this work, either by being around more for a couple weeks, or by drop[ping some things (such as the ministry and country leaders and such) until after the tournament is over. Technically, it's the captains job to sort it all out, though one of the things I'm going to say in the Heads of House meeting when I post there in a bit is that the Heads of House should keep an eye on their House team and try to help the cpatain if they need it. However, if there is no captain (such as in your House) one needs to be found. Really someone just needs to request it from their Head of House or the Headmaster (me), to be approved as the captain, and then they take the responsibility from there. So, User:Peislandgal just requested that Elizabeth Magic be quidditch captain for Gryffindor, and as Headmaster I approved. It'll be her job to do the quidditch stuff, but if she needs help or anything, she'll come to you. So, keep an eye on your House team, would you? Exam issuesEdit

Acknowledging the stipulations you have set out, I feel impelled to point out that, in my own experience, a reduction in exam stress is often best achieved by a dulling of the senses, which is to say the constant taking of mock exams, until they cease to have any aura of the exotic. This was the practice at my school, back in the prehistoric era designated "the 80s", and I truly believe that it was an advantage, since we saw nothing special in our O or A levels, as they did not differ significantly from our end-of-year exams.

If you can inform me of the specific texts you're studying for A level, I may be able to recommend some relevant supporting literature or analyses.

One element of your earlier missive, and here I'm referring to what you appended to the blog, which struck me at once was the Americanised use of "z" in capitalise and grammatise, although frankly the latter fails to appeal in any form.

Clarity concerning the causes and sources of English might well prove a beneficial basis upon which to begin to construct our process. It is, however, my turn to deliver an admonition. If we do journey some time together in this manner, I will take you and send you to places far from the mainstream of English, perhaps with little immediate or evident relevance, but I will have my reasons, and so will require at least a modicum of faith on your part.

Hey guys. So, we had a conversation last night about over-powered and innappropriately role-played characters. There are some current issues, so we will be creating a second sorting forum for adult characters, so we can approve them. Characters that already exsist will not need to be sorted. I have also updated the DAW:CHP and DAW:RPP. Please review them and let me know if you see any other changes that are needed. Also, I created the warning template for Over Powered (OP) characters. "I remember when Einar and myself went to Hogwarts together for the first time.  Both of us seemed to be lone-wolves so to speak.  On the train ride to Hogwarts, we both sat alone.  I was excited yet sarcastic about my trip to a magical school.  He acted similarly.  I was sorted into Slytherin not long after, he was sent to Ravenclaw.  I personally felt that I was mixed in with a bunch of power hungry fools, and Einar later said to me he was too pragmatic to fit in with the Ravenclaws.  Eventually we met each other again.  It was late in our first year, when we had a class together... I think it was charms... I was being tormented by a brute in my own house.  No one in my house saved me from his torment.  But Einar saw this happening in that class, and he wouldn’t take it.  He was smaller than the other child but he stood up wand clenched in his fist and told the kid to leave me alone.  The child turned his way and asked Einar what he would do if he didn’t leave me alone.  Einar suddenly picked up his wand and cast a spell on the boy.  He was sent flying into a wall full of potions and books which crashed on him.  The child tried to attack Einar with his wand but I cast the disarming spell at him. I beamed at Einar.  He was sent to his Head of House and lost 30 points from his house, I lost 10 from my own, but he still recently used to tell me he never regretted giving the-....child what he deserved.  A week later I got up the courage to thank Einar for what he had done, I asked him his name.  “Einar Faris,” he replied.  He then asked me my own name to which I answered what all the kids called me, “Linch.”  He asked me for my real name, I was stunned at the question.  No one cared enough to ask before.  I answered, “Charles Linch.”  He smirked.  He looked me over than he said, “You know Charlie, I was pretty glad doing what I did for you, and I thank you for what you do for me.  Together we can do pretty amazing things.”  I nodded.  I knew even then the power that Einar held.  The strength.  The greatness radiated from him.  I knew then that we would be the best of friends as long as we knew one another.  And so it happened just that way.” -Charles Linch on Einar Faris
