Hello, my fellow Darpians! I'm here with some wikia and personal updates (ew).
So as you may have noticed, I mentioned stepping down and created some confusion on that end. I am no longer planning on doing such a thing while the wikia is in dire need of three functioning bcrats. I'm very sorry for the confusion.
soooo we've been discussing a lot of things in the last eternity and have figured some stuff out. I'm here to clear some air and bring some new, exciting updates.
The staff seem to be dwindling, right? Wrong. Every year we have an activity issue. It's summer. School is about to start for some people. Times get hectic and we understand that. However, we need to know of any staff absences. Or really any member absences (in case you hold positions like prefect, ministry head, auror or quidditch captain) so that we don't accidentally warn someone who is maybe dealing with a loss in the family. Communication is key!!!!! That's why the Administration Team Status page was created. We hope that staff will utilize this feature. I also plan to make one for users who aren't staff but do hold special character positions here on DARP. Keep an eye out for that.
Next topic: outdated policies! This is at the top of my list as head of the ooc department. I am tasked with an entire rewrite, rework and addition of new policies that will help better fit our wikia and make things run smoother. Coming soon to a theatre near u.
Another casual topic jump. Do you have a headache yet?
So if you haven't already noticed, a vote was opened for an additional two rollback positions to help with duties that can otherwise drown staff. To even the departments out, one rollback will be added to OOC and one to S&S. We hope that this solution will help better affirm out desire to stabilize the admin team.
Finally: for the first time in what seems like ages, DARP has three fuctioning bcrats dedicated to bettering this wikia and making it a more enjoyable place to be. Construction is messy and things may hit a crossroads but like in the past, we will get over them and thrive. Together. As a team and as a community. I encourage you to keep an open mind with the changes and bare with staff as we try to build a solid foundation. Activity policies will be heavily enforced from here on out.
