She'd smile. "I'd be open to other offers. I haven't gotten any directly yet, but we'll see what happens. A lot will depend on how the season ends, and which players decide to quit...and who's looking."
He nodded. "That makes sense. I didn't know if you'd be getting any kind of pressure to... sign early or anything." A thoughtful, almost curious look crossed his face. "And I don't know if wedding planning would have any... weight on that decision or not."
She'd roll her eyes. "I meant your original question about my team affecting the wedding. I thought you were asking about moving or something. I honestly don't think the time will be an issue...I'll have more time in the off season even with that stuff going on and the like than in the regular season."
She'd nod. "Sure...but not as much as we practice now. There will also be parties and the like I have to go to to mingle or meet scouts or managers...but overall I'll have full days off between those things where I don't now." She'd pause. "So...what were you thinking for the wedding? I mean...you mentioned Charity's but I would guess hers was much more...elaborate."
She'd nod. "Sure...but that doesn't really come naturally. I learned it mostly from my sister and mom, but was never quite as good as them...though apparently I picked up more than Faith did from her sisters."
She'd nod. "I suppose that makes sense why Faith didn't know anything about it then. That and dresses and shoes and the like." She'd pause. "Do you know...how much your mom did? I mean...I guess Faith was too young for most of that too when they died but..." She'd trail off not sure how to continue.
She'd consider that. "I...don't think it really matters. I mean...I don't think there's a correlation between the two." She'd pause. "If we wanted to go somewhere for our honeymoon it would probably need to be over the summer...but that could be some time after the wedding if we wanted it to be."
She'd smile. "You're not. I'm just trying to...ask the questions we need to answer together." She'd pause. "I think Fall is alright...but I mean...why wait? We could probably do it in the next month or two before summer too..." She'd watch him, looking for a reaction one way or another.
She'd nod, giving him a little smile. "I don't need anything grand Thomas. Something small and intimate with just family or close friends...maybe a dozen people would be enough." She'd pause. "...unless you wanted something bigger?"
She'd consider. "Somewhere...outside I think. Since we're having it in Spring, why not take advantage of the flowers and such being in bloom. We should be able to find somewhere out in the country we can use."
"I'm pretty sure Ash and Charity would drop everything to help us... I'll have to let Melinda know, because she's been traveling for work. But I don't see it being an issue for anything else. What about your family?"
She'd shake her head. "When they called their wedding off the day before they were going to have it I went to ask why and make sure everything was ok. I mean...I'm sure they lost money on deposits and stuff. Jenelle kept telling me Ayden wasn't any of my business, and that she just felt they were too young to get married and be committed to one another...which considering they're living together and have a baby seems like she just wants a way out if things go bad. I tried to talk to Ayden about it, and he basically said they weren't talking to me and I wasn't welcome to visit." She'd sigh, and frown slightly. "I'm worried about him."
She'd shrug. "If you want...but I'm looking into Jenelle more too. I just feel like she's slowly...isolating him from everyone else, which is a troubling thought. I don't want her to just...up and leave because I know it would rip his heart apart."
She'd frown. "What would you do if it was one of your siblings? If Faith or Melinda were living with someone and they wouldn't talk to you, and never saw anyone else? Wouldn't you at least try to poke into things?" She'd pause. "Besides, if there's nothing off about her, then I won't find anything."
"I mean, the situations aren't identical... but any time Charity tried to show concern for... any of us, really. I saw Faith and Melinda pull similar stunts. We'd all push back. With differing degrees of how hard... but we all told her to bugger off and stay out of our business."
