"Right," she says, quietly. She should have expected that for an answer, but it doesn't make it any less disturbing. The Apol she'd known had been a fighter all along, she'd been abrasive, callous and didn't take shit. She faced everything head on, and now... well now she just looked broken. Defeated. Exhausted. This wasn't the Apol she knew, and it destroyed her, from inside out. "I'm sorry," she whispers, hoping she understands the true meaning. For showing up in their lives, for what her biological father did, for what she did to her. For everything. She may not regret killing Roman, he deserved it, but she regretted being the cause of someone living in the streets. Though then again, their situation was so ordinarily complex - the lines blurred to the point they were all one in the same.
