Thomas and Saffron
Saffron Carter- Hufflepuff Alumna - Head of Department of Magical Education
Saffron didn't get it, yet her intelligence wasn't the highest, so she just went with the reason of she's a blundering idiot who doesn't understand anything. Of course, she didn't want to voice this, so she nodded and looked away.
He gave her a small, appreciative smile and finished off his meal, dropped some coins on the bar counter and gathered his things to head out.

She was getting a bit sick of her apartment and had come down here for lunch. She was sitting at a table by herself, nose between the pages of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

When her food was delivered, she put the book down momentarily to thank the waitress, and her eyes landed on... "Professor... umm..." she trailed off, realizing that when he'd gotten married, she wasn't sure what he had done with his last name.

She smiled and gave him a little wave. "How are you?"

"Fine," she said with a shrug. "Moved into an apartment with my best friend. Got the job I wanted..."

"If I told you I'd be in big trouble," she said with an amused grin. "I'm an Unspeakable."

"Two years this spring. I... ended up merging my fourth and fifth years together and took my OWLs a year early."

She frowned slightly. "How... so? I mean... I merged two years together. So I graduated early. So... if anything I just gave you back a year of your life," she said with a little smile.

She wrinkled her nose. "A ridiculously quiet bookworm who barely said three words to people."

She nodded holding up the book she was reading. "My brother-in-law still feeds the obsession. I got this for Christmas."

She smiled. "You should see the other Library I've got access too. It's pretty fantastic."

"I'm sure Ash wouldn't mind," she said with a grin. "He's... really nice about that kind of thing... sharing and whatnot."

She had no idea why her parents enjoyed dropping her off in places, or sending her off, whenever they were in the magical side. It confused her to no end. Today was one of those days - her parents had it free, and they wanted to come shopping for Cal's older siblings, but had decided to drop their kid in the Leaky Cauldron. No idea why, but ok. She was sitting at a table alone, eating soup.

Green met brown as Calliope looked up. Her mouth was full, so she raised a finger that he'd hopefully catch as a hold on while she gulped some water to cool the substance inside her mouth a bit before swallowing. "The Leaky Cauldron," she answered, her voice slightly raspy from the cold she had barely just passed.

She paused, thinking. Her mum and dad had gone shopping, and the store had to be there... but what way did her parents go? Slowly, Callie craned her neck, looking around the restaurant, until she saw the back entrance. "Umm... I think it's through there," she said, pointing at the door, "It leads to an alley with a lot of stores, though, but I'm sure you'll find it."

Callie smiled, happy that she'd found something to do while her parents were off at God knows where. She quickly finished her soup (burning her throat a little along the way), and stood, discarding the plate before facing the boy, "Can I at least know your name first?"
After looking at apartments (which she could only afford after working all of last summer), she decided to apparate to the Leaky Cauldron, in hopes of getting a nice butterbeer to help her think things over. Once the drink was in her hands, she moved to go find a table to sit at, hopefully one that was empty, but she wouldn't mind one that wasn't.
Charity and Asteria

She was sitting at a table by herself. She didn't have enough time to go home to get lunch with Ash and Aria, so she'd come here just to get away from the hospital for a bit.
Asteria's plan was to get a simple butterbeer and apparate the hell away from this place, for it was too populated for her liking really. In fact, it made her question why she was going, but it wasn't like she could get a butterbeer at home (pfft, you idiot, what home?), and she really wanted one. As she entered the Leaky Cauldron, she gave a look around the place to make sure that a certain someone wasn't right there waiting for her (of course he wouldn't be here, idiot), before making her way to the bar and ordering a butterbeer.

She was sitting just to the right of the bar at her own table and glanced up when she saw someone come in. Lately, she seemed to know more and more people who frequented here. She was a bit surprised to see a face she didn't know.
While she waited for the drink to be given to her, she turned around just partially to scan over the place once more, as if she missed something. Actually, that was pretty ridiculous, so she knew, because there wasn't anything to really miss. However, it eased her worries somewhat when she didn't catch anything again, not like it showed on her facial expression, which remained neutral as always. As she did so, she caught sight of a woman who must have been around her age, sitting not too far away, and although she knew she wouldn't go over and talk to her, part of her wished she could.

She smiled when they made eye contact and gave a little wave.
Asteria barely lifted up her arm, her fingers moving slightly in a mock wave, for she really didn't want to be put in a position of holding a conversation with somebody. Upon hearing a drink hit the bar counter beside her, the redhead turned back and grabbed it, before looking over the place yet again for a nice spot to sit, preferably away from the majority of people.

She followed the other woman's gaze. "It's... pretty busy right now. But I don't have anyone sitting with me... if you're looking for a table."
Naturally, she tried not to sigh out of frustration, because that was incredibly disrespectful of her, but she had to let out at least a small sigh, before approaching. As she sat down, she made sure not to look at the woman, getting out a notepad and pen from her purse to make it look like she was busy enough on that to avoid conversation. "Grazie," she said, in thanking, but that was it.

She noted the Italian, and wanted to ask... but she also noted that the woman probably didn't want to make conversation, so she just pulled out a book on Healing to flip through while she waited for her food.
Asteria always kept tabs on her surroundings, staying aware of most of the things that were going on around her, or as much as she possibly could, anyways. So, when she heard the shuffling across from her, she had to glance up from the notepad, trying to read to title of the book as best she could. After she decided she didn't care anymore, for this woman seemed to be completely harmless, and returned to writing her letter.

After a few minutes, her food arrived-- soup and a sandwich. She thanked the waiter, marked her book and set it to the side, and started to eat.
*Eddie came down from being in his room upstairs. All of this stuff was so confusing. Magic. It's all real? It was so hard to take in. He went up to the bar, ordered a butterbeer and took it over to a table. He pulled out his phone to use when he discovered it was flickering and barely working.* Blimey, what's wrong with my iPhone!? *he murmured to himself, sitting there, trying to fix it.*
Brody had brought her here for dinner, having discovered there was nothing in their apartment. Only to remember he had to go to 'The little shop'. He'd told her to stay here before disappearing leaving her to sit at a table alone. She was doing her best not to be spotted by anyone, being spotted by someone meant having to talk to them. And that just meant making friends, something she was reluctant to do.
*The phone was still flickering. He didn't understand. He saw the girl walk by and take a seat. He was reluctant to do it, but he needed it to work for his parents to pick him up. So he walked over to her table to ask if she understood.* Hey, do you have an iPhone? Mine's not working and I have no idea why. *He put the phone on the table.*
She glanced up at the boy and hesitated, shaking her head "I don't have an Iphone. Sorry. Have you tried restarting it?" She spoke haltingly, as if she really didnt want to be having this conversation. Which she really did, but didn't at the same time. She gestured towards the phone as if asking if she could try fix it
She stiffened ever so slightly at his movement, before playing it off as her just moving towards the phone. She listened intently for her brother to come back as she held down both the power and the home button on the phone to force a restart. It had worked on her brothers phone before, it was the only reason she knew about it. She waited to see if it worked, staring determinedly at the phone
*The phone showed the Apple sign for a moment, and then flickered twice, and then shut down again.* Oh well, guess it's just ... I don't know, I'll buy a new one tomorrow. *He picked it up and put it in his pocket. She looked about his age, now that he thought about it.* Are you starting at Hogtarts next year?
She ran her hair through her hair nervously as she nodded. Silently cursing her brother for not being back yet. "Hogwarts" She corrected gently picking up on the other sounds around them but still listening to his words carefully.
"At hogwarts?" She asked "Yeah it's my first time" Her stomach gave a grumble and she panicked as she felt her fangs begin to push through. 'Not now' She silently cursed as she lent her elbow on the table to make the fact she was covering her mouth seem more natural as she tried to concentrate on anything other than hunger.
She shrugged doing a funny gesture with her head, something she usually did with Brody when her fangs appeared. It only happened when she'd gone too long without eating food, or when she got overly anxious. She realized after a moment he probably didn't understand her gesture and, after taking a deep breath attempted to reply without letting him see her fangs. "I've grown up around magic" She replied, hoping he hadn't noticed anything abnormal.
She nodded, finally relaxing slightly as her fangs began to disappear again, she removed her hand from her mouth before she replied "There's a lot of people who haven't grown up around it" She offered him a smile, a careless one seeing as her fangs hadn't quite disappeared. She didn't even realize however.
Oh, okay. Well ... I think this magic stuff is complicated. And hard to believe. It's like some weird dream I can't wake up from. *He shrugged.* Isn't there something like houses or whatever? What house are you in?
*He shrugged* I don't know either. *he grabbed some of the jelly beans out of his pocket he'd gotten earlier from the joke shop. He started chewing on one and then spit it out.* Ergh! What the - *He started examining the package.*
My God, I swear, it tasted like vomit! What the bloody hell is this thing!? *He read the package.* Why would anyone make vomit flavored jelly beans?! *he knocked the package on the floor angrily. All beans remained inside the package.*

So, she told her parents about being a werewolf. She's lucky she's even allowed to return to Hogwarts this year. While they let her go and would still be providing for her in whatever way she needed, they'd cut most ties with her. Her mother didn't want her around, fearing for Gustavo's safety, and her maternal grandparents couldn't take her in. Her paternal... well, they thought she was possessed by the devil, or something like that. All in all, this had been one shitty summer, which concluded with her father sending her to Britain with a distant cousin's of his, and her family, who were already familiar with werewolves. With enough money to buy her books in Flourish and Blotts, Tori had planned on doing that today, hence why she was entering the Leaky Cauldron.

He was sitting at a table by himself. He'd gotten his parents to let him hang out here for the day, and he thought he'd told Chris to meet him here, but maybe they'd gotten the times wrong or something. So he was sitting in the Leaky Cauldron alone, wondering what he should do now, since going back home seemed pretty lame.

She was making her way to the back of the place, towards the entrance to Diagon Alley, when her eyes landed on none other than Dustin. Without much hesitance, she turned ways, instead walking to his table, already biting the inside of her cheek from nerves. Hopefully this conversation wouldn't lead to another fight?

He looked over when he saw someone coming towards him. "Hey Tori," he said. "Good summer?"

She sat down in front of him, before throwing a glance around the place to see if there was anyone nearby. It wasn't unknown to her that a lot of people discriminated werewolves. When she felt sure nobody would hear in, she sighed again. "Yeah, um, but just so you know, this... is the same problem I had the day we fought," she said, shifting uncomfortably.

"So... no, you don't want to tell me?" he guessed with an eyebrow raised.
