He'd smile. "It's nice to meet you also. Your Mother used to talk about you a lot when she was in office here. So, given the surname change I assume since then you've gotten married? How's married life?"
She smiled nodding. "It's been about 8 years now, but it's been great. We've got a little 5 year old boy now and he's the sweetest. We also just took in the child of one of my old friends, so we've had an interesting few months."
He'd nod. "It sounds like it. So, I looked through your file..." He'd look down at some parchment flipping through it. "Graduated from Hufflepuff, Head Girl, Good Grades..." He'd look back up at her. "...and then went to play quidditch for a number of years. So...what would you say your greatest achievements are...and they don't necessarily have to be work or school related."
“I like to think that my biggest achievement is fulfilling the goals I set for myself when I was younger. Some of the seemed quite unobtainable at first, but I worked hard to make sure that it was a possibility. I had wanted to be a professional quidditch player since I was able 10. I was constantly told that it wasn’t likely going to happen but I pushed myself as I was growing up to develop the necessary skills. So, really, I think that my biggest achievement was being able to persevere through the challenges thrown at me to do what I always dreamed of.”
“Honestly, probably a little of both. I was definitely motivated to aim high and try to achieve great things as well. But, I was always met with a worry that any success I had was because of my family. Fortunately, I’ve grown to see my abilities and achievements separate from my family’s and that I’ve got where I am because of hard work.”
"I would definitely have to pick being given the opportunity to be the Holyhead Harpies Captain. It was something I always dreamt of doing and it allowed me to show the leaderships skills I have developed over the years. During my first year as captain, we made it to the finals but ultimately lost."
"With my husband and I both playing Quidditch for awhile, we found it hard to keep building our relationship, as well as to start a family. I want to be based closer to home more often than being all over the place playing matches. I also think that the face of a woman in the department would be good. For awhile, we've had quite a few more women than men playing in the league, so I think it might be good to make sure that there voice is being properly heard."
He'd look intrigued. "I didn't realize there were gender issues in the Quidditch world in general, but not being that involved in the sporting world I wouldn't necessarily know that either. What sort of issues do you see in that realm or hope to be able to solve?"
"It's really not as bad as many other areas, but I think that women just aren't offered the same opportunities, and they're definitely not paid the same. While we have so many women that are playing, we have very few in leadership rules, such as captains. The majority of them are men, and I'd like to try to get a few more women into some of these roles." She paused for a moment. "As for pay, it's been a pretty contentious point among players. THen men are generally just paid higher than a woman that has an equivalent level of experience and such."
He'd nod. "I didn't know that was an issue...I agree if they have the same amount of experience and such, they should get an equivalent pay. Well, seems like you have a good handle on what the job entails...but just so we're on the same page you understand that this is a temporary position with the details being worked out when the original Head returns yes? I'm not sure if we'll have you both doing separate things and sharing the workload, or if one of you will become a Deputy...but I want to try to be upfront about it with you."
