Sunita

appearance
Sunita gets told often that she doesn't look her age. She's fair of face, with a warm smile, that she usually displays most of the time. She has long wavy brown hair, which she usually pins into a bun, for convenience. She's not very tall, but what she lacks in height, she makes up in grace. Due to her experience as a dancer, she has quite a curvaceous figure, and seems to always move in a dancerly fashion. She somehow always manages to look elegant at any given point, which baffles many.
Sunita dresses in both traditional Indian clothes, and has a large collection of sarees. However, she also wears Western clothing, mostly because it's easier to acquire in England.

history
Sunita Agarwal was born to Krishna and Deepika Agarwal, a powerful and well-known Wizarding Mercantile family in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Agarwals specialised in silks and spices as their main trade, thus providing them with a lucrative and comfortable lifestyle.

When Sunita was born, she displayed a keen magical ability from around the age of seven or eight. Her first sign of magic came when she was able to resurge some dead flowers back to life, which made her parents believe that it was her destiny to become a great healer. However, she also displayed an incredible natural ability of classical Indian dance. Her parents, both deeply traditional, decided to allow her to pursue dance, and she soon mastered many different types of Indian dancing. She learnt everything from classical to Bollywood, with a penchant for folk dance, including Garba, Dandiya and Bhangra. Her parents allowed her to study at the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts, to give her experience in Western dance along with her Indian heritage, which Sunita was able to grasp extremely easily - as the Indian counterparts were far more delicate and intricate.

Sunita moved back to Jaipur after her graduation, and opened her own dance school; offering a versatile and holistic assortment of dance. The business really took off, and Sunita became extremely successful in her craft. She became a famous choreographer, for some major Bollywood stars, but it was not meant to be.

When Sunita turned 25, it became apparent that it was time for her to marry. Her parents were pushing her into marrying the son of a wealthy landowner in Karnataka. The man in question, Raman Chaudhuri, was a gentle and goodlooking man, but, he was rather simple. When compared to Sunita's extravagant and opulent life in Rajasthan, it was odd to move to the less-educated and quieter life in South India. She grew to love her husband, who was always kind to her, and never stopped her from dancing, as he knew she loved it. Yet, Sunita missed her dance school, and her students. Working with children gave her the utmost joy, and she longed to have her own children. However, Raman was always poorly and wasn't in a fit state to conceive. Raman suffered from epilepsy and diabetes, and he did not wish for these to be passed down to his future children, despite his deep love for his wife. Sunita and Raman decided to move to the UK, where the healthcare was infinitely better than India, in an attempt to try and eliminate the health problems that ailed Raman.

Sunita keeps this photograph, as it is the only visual memory of the two that she has in the UK.

They moved to Harrow, in London, for a while, whilst they got Raman treated in St. Mungo's. There were signs of progress, however a fall from the top of the stairs one fateful night, resulted in a stroke for Raman. He did not make it to St. Mungo's that night. For Sunita, it seemed as though it was the end. She had lost everything, her parents, her beloved school, and her husband. She was no longer home, she was in a strange country, surrounded by strange people. But Sunita did what she had been doing all her life; she healed. All through her life, Sunita had worked on letting go and moving on, healing herself spiritually to not remain bitter at all the things she had lost. But this time, she healed herself by healing others.

You see, Sunita, from her very first display of magic, showed she had the powers of vitality and revitalisation - she naturally was born to heal. She began providing free services to those in need, seeing a very strong success rate. It brought her a similar joy to dance, except now she could see the effect of her abilities on people, and watch them grow. She healed through her own healing. She still missed her husband dearly, but she did not let his death get her down. After ten years of this, she received word from her in-laws that her nephew by marriage, Raja, would be moving to Hogsmeade - and she decided to join him in his move, seeking a job as a professor of Healing at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

personality
Sunita is a very spiritual person. She has strong beliefs and they are generally unshakeable. Her upbringing was quite traditional, so she's also very religious, a practising Hindu. However, Sunita prides herself in being level headed and tolerant. She's not one to easily lose her temper, because she knows that rarely does it help in any given situation. This is not to say that she is a pushover; Sunita has adopted the mantra of looking like the flower, but being the serpent under't. She is unafraid to make her views known, and stand up for when she thinks something is wrong.
