Shutterbutton's Photography Studio is a wizarding photographic studio in Carkitt Market, located in the wizarding quarter of London. It is found in the same building as Concordia and Plunkett Musical Instruments and Gladrags Wizardwear. For those who favor the old ways over the technomagical, they offer general services. Since most like to rely on the many DIY apps circulating (some of which they own), they provide information on them. Complaints will be attended to at the counter.

Her sister had entrusted her with closing the store tonight while she tended to an emergency with one of her many children. Sofia didn't mind - it had been a slow day. But it didn't make her any less relieved when she could basically feel her freedom, just out of her reach. If nobody walks in in the next 15 minutes, she can head out. That's honestly all she wants.
Millie noticed that Shutterbutton's was about to close and felt awful for pushing her visit back so late. When she decided to enter the store, she did so with hesitance, smiling at the redhead (and the lone person left in the shop). "E-Excuse me, sorry...I can leave if you would rather that I come back tomorrow." She gave her a sweet smile.

Sofia might have changed, what with the laser surgery to get her freckles removed and the dye she used to lighten her hair a little, but Millie had hardly changed a thing. She just looked... older. And her features were more refined. Because she's taken aback, she sits back, mouth agape until she can return to her senses. "Oh, no, no, no! Don't worry! Who am I to turn a customer away?" she dismisses her apology, as disgruntled as she may have initially been. "Or, more like a customer of my sister's. I don't really work here... officially, at least."
Millie hadn't recognized her at first. It had been years, but the voice was still familiar. Plus, she suddenly remembered seeing her on a Ballycastle poster. "Well, it's a cute place. I, uh, w-wanted to see if I c-could get these photos of my mooncalves turned into those magical ones that move. I don't know if you guys do that or not?"

"It depends the camera that you used for the pictures," Sofia answers. She's half considering saying something, to let her know she knows who she is, but manages to restrain herself. She imagines she'd only be coming across as an obsessed fan. "Some of them are compliant with the spells that change images into gifs, some aren't."
"Oh, boy," she said, followed by a light chuckle. "I don't know anything about cameras. I hope I used the right one." A small sigh and she reached into her purse to pull out the camera that she had used. When she set it down on the counter, she got out the photographs and placed them beside it, then crossed her fingers. "F-For the love of all things good, please work." She giggled a little bit. It was kind of ridiculous, she could admit.

Sofia studies the images in question, and the cameras Millie used to take them. She inclines her head as she does so, a crease appearing in her brow as she focuses. "Well... I don't see why it shouldn't work," she says eventually, smiling, and extends the camera at her. She hopes what she remembers about Millie is enough to get these images to mimic her normal behavior. Pulling out her wand, she levels it over the pictures and begins to move the tip in a circular motion, casting some enchantments.
"Thank goodness," she said with a sigh of relief and a soft and thankful smile settled on her lips. "Thanks, So-" Millie stopped, a light dust of pink raising to her cheeks when she realized that she wasn't playing so cool anymore. "Uh, they w-were the last of my creatures I d-didn't get to photograph," she started back up, hoping to make up for it. She didn't want to seem like a weirdo. Not in front of Sofia anyways. She didn't know why she cared so much.

Sofia's face lights up like a Christmas tree when she realizes what Millie had almost said, right before she cut herself off. Her name. "So you do recognize me," Sofia grins. She wishes she could look up again, but she didn't wanna screw these spells up. She continues her movements, with the occasional spell, until little by little Millie can see the pictures begin to come to life. "Hey, it's alright."
"Uhh, how could I not? You're a big Quidditch star now," she said with a smile. When she saw how the spells were working, she jumped slightly with glee. If she had to wait another month to get good pictures of the little guys with the right camera, she might have been put on the verge of crying. "Thanks, again. They seem to be coming along nicely."

"I wasn't sure if you did. We weren't exactly close circa our last year at Hogwarts," Sofia explains, shrugging. She grins when she sees her jump out the corner of her eye. "No problem. It wasn't any bit of a hassle, really. Just need the right spells and a good imagination," she beams, winking at her once she's finally done. Gathering the pictures, she picks them up, putting them all in the same, horizontal position before offering them to their owner. "And there you have it!"
"We weren't ever close really," she pointed out with a shrug. Millie picked up the pictures, flicking through them. "They look amazing, Sofia. W-What's the cost? I probably should have checked before I got it done." A sheepish smile appeared on her lips, blocking her mouth with her free hand in an embarrassed manner. She would survive.

"Okay, but at least we crossed each other because of Arthur and Alden," Sofia counters, before pausing. She frowns. She'd forgotten all about Alden. She didn't really think about Arthur that often anymore, either. "Oh! Right! Ummm, just consider it a favor from an old friend," she waves her hand dismissively. "No cost at all."
Millie frowned slightly. While she was over Alden and the pain he had caused her, the thought of her made her want to...vomit. There was just too much resentment there for her to deal with. "S-Speaking of, have you spoken to either of them recently? I haven't seen them since school." Then again, she had been out of the country. "Are you sure? I can p-pay. It's okay." She gave a shy smile again, feeling bad.

She sees the look on Millie's face, and her blood runs cold. What did happen between her and her ex-crush's twin? She frowns, but doesn't really comment on it. "I haven't," she shakes her head. "I haven't seen them since school, either. I've been... busy," she pauses. "It's on me. Really. You're good," she smiles.
Millie regained herself, building her composure. "What have you been up to besides quidditch, or s-should I not ask?" An attempt at raising her eyebrows went poorly, making her look a bit funny, before she stopped trying. "B-But thank you. I owe you one, Sofia."

Sofia cracks a grin at the look on Millie's face, and conceals it very poorly. "I'm, uh, a photographer. For hire, for now, but I might get a gig with an agency soon," she explains. "Oh! No, no, you don't - you don't owe me," she pauses, glancing at the clock. 9:05. Closing time. "Ummm, I just closed, technically. We could maybe... head out for a drink or something? To catch up?"
Millie was fascinated by the fact that Sofia was taking a second job, when the quidditch income had to be more than enough to cover her and any family. She didn't question it now though. The Kites player glanced at the clock, following the other girl's gaze, before looking back at her. "I'll warn you that I d-don't usually drink, but I would love to go somewhere," she said with an excited smile, which was holding back so much more excitement than it showed off. She had only ever had a drink once, right after her second quidditch match and her first professional win. She had found then, unsurprisingly, that she was a major lightweight. "Where at?"
-“We can run down the streets with the stairs in our eyes,” Message Me - 01:56, May 14, 2018 (UTC)
"It can just be coke. I don't drink too often myself. Just when us Ballycastle Bats have had a major win," Sofia shrugs, smiling reassuringly. "Uhhh... we could head to La Lune Bleue? Or, ummm, somewhere a little less... fancy? Like The Three Broomsticks?"
Millie had been to the Three Broomsticks before and while it was nice, she wanted to have a bit more fun and she had never been to La Lune. "Uh, how about La Lune? I've never been. I m-mean, it's better to go with someone f-familiar than by myself later, right?" She shrugged and smiled, before the annoying reality dawned on her and she didn't want to be a fool, but... "I, uh, can't apparate. I never passed." Another embarrassed look crossed her face as she bit her lower lip slightly.
-“We can run down the streets with the stairs in our eyes,” Message Me - 13:02, May 14, 2018 (UTC)
She didn't think Millie would've wanted to go to La Lune, hence why she also prompted the Three Broomsticks. Despite her initial surprise, she grins and nods (maybe a little too excitedly). Her grin melts away a little when she hears about her not passing the apparation test. How do you get around, then? The question surfaces to her mind, but she doesn't actually say it. She isn't that rude. "Hey, it's alright. Just let me close the shop and we'll head out, yeah?"
Millie lived in Diagon Alley now and essentially had everything there for her. She just had to walk a lot. It kept her healthy and she wouldn't complain about it, because her legs were looking nice and toned from all of the daily walking. The quidditch season in Norway was over for right now, so she didn't have to get portkeys to get to matches. It was part of the reason why she wanted to move into the British and Irish League. When Sofia didn't seem to question it, she was reassured. Maybe she would retake the test someday. Her magic had gotten a lot better since the first time she took it. "Great! I'm fine with waiting if it's going to take you a bit," she said with a simple smile.
Finally, somewhere Charlie really felt at home, she was flicking through the products the store had to offer, hoping to improve her camera's lenses. She was ignoring the other camera's in the store even though she needed to upgrade the one she had which she held in her hand, the neck strap hanging down, and it was a bit beaten up. It's not because Charlie couldn't upgrade it, she was rich enough, but it was more...sentimental, she guessed, and couldn't bear to get rid of it despite how many times she'd dropped it or abused it. Still, it worked and the photographs it produced were just as good as any other camera could produce, she just needed to maintain it. She was dressed in simple jeans, black boots, and a white shirt with one of her navy blue, knitted, scarf wrapped neatly around her neck. Though she seemed to be focussed on the lenses, which she was, her eyes still skimmed around the room, analysing.

Norchelle had entered the store, wanting to find just the right camera before she went back to Italy. She wanted to take lots of pictures with her and her family and their travels, and hoped that this would be the place to find it. She noticed Charlie in the store but didn't pay too much attention to her. She was wearing a yellow tank top with a daisy design, white shorts and simple flats. Her hair was tied back into a bun and she had daisy earrings on.
Her eyes landed on the girl and couldn't help but have a small laugh escape her lips as she saw the other girl's attire and forced herself to look away. She bent down slightly to eye one of the lenses on the bottom shelf, rolling one around her hand, before deciding none of them were satisfactory and bent back up, moving to the next section, the other girl already at the back of her mind.

Norchelle heard the small laugh since it wasn't that hard to miss in the quiet store. She looked over to see Charlie and was a little put off by it, but tried not to let it bother her too much as she continued looking around. Eventually she made her way over to Charlie by accident, and bumped into her. "Oh! I'm sorry-" She cut herself off when she saw who it was, and just looked at Charlie. "You're the girl who laughed when I came in to the store, aren't you?"
The camera slipped out of her hand when Norchelle bumped into her and if it wasn't for her reflexes, which caused her other hand to jolt out to grab the straps, it would have smashed onto the floor. Her heart skipped a beat, her eyebrows sharply drawing together, and she barely registered the other girl's words before straightening up to check to see if the camera was alright, running her hands over it, making sure nothing was cracked or dented. "And you're the girl who nearly broke my camera," she shot back. She wasn't irritated at the girl, per say, and didn't necessarily want to be snappy at her but...her mind was still focussed on the fact she could have just lost her camera, "your point?"
"Then watch where you're going, it's not that hard," she muttered, "and I laughed at what you're wearing. Bit overkill on the daisies, don't you think? Unless you're into the flower power movement." The last sentence was barely audible as she said it just under her breathe before she dropped her arms, turning her head to look at Norchelle, eyeing her with a frown. Honestly with the clothes you're wearing, I wouldn't expect you to be able to afford helping me fix it. "And you couldn't have helped even if it did," she remarked, wanting to be done with the conversation, knowing it was leading into an argument.

She was offended, how In the world could she not be? “My clothes are just fine, I think it’s your attitude that needs a change.” He snapped at Charlie, not appreciating her tone or her hostility. “Maybe if you wouldn’t be so fast to judge people and hurt them before you get to know them, you’d actually make a friend or two.” She said upset, before turning around and angrily walking over to the other side of the store. She was mumbling under her breath, obviously riled up by Charlie.
She paused for a moment before laughing again, shoulders shaking and shook her head. "Why is everyone so presumptuous these days," she murmured to herself. You'd actually make a friend or two. Not like Charlie didn't. She wasn't bothered by the encounter–she knew she had a tendency to make people upset but...what was she to do? Walk over and hug it out? No thanks. Plus...why would she want a little upstart–okay, maybe that was too harsh but...seriously? She looked like a child model for target. Whatever, though. What's done is done and she will never see the girl again. Now...that lense is the one she wanted. She grabbed it from the shelf and smirked to herself before walking over to the counter to pay.

Norchelle just stayed where she was, looking at small cameras and not caring what Charlie was to do. Someone so mean didn’t deserve Norchelle’s attention and she sure wasn’t going to give it. She did glance down at her clothes for a moment, trying to see what was wrong with them but she couldn’t. She just mumbled something mean under her breath about Charlie, before moving over to look at camera accessories after picking out a small but nice Camera.
As she paid, she slipped both the camera and her new purchase into her bag before turning on her heel to walk out, her eyes dropping onto the camera in Norchelle's hand. "Nice choice," she responded before leaning over to grab a lens and tossed it over to the girl, "that would make it even better though," she said with a throwaway smirk. The gesture could be interpreted in multiple ways. A peace treaty, maybe Charlie was being condescending and wanting to prove herself, but...it wasn't malicious.

"Wow it's really that close huh?" She said mostly to herself with a small shrug. "I've actually never traveled outside of Italy except to come here to school. My parents were going to send me to Beauxbaton but that's a whole story you don't wanna hear."

"My mom went to Beauxbaton and wanted me to go, but I was really against it. I felt Hogwarts was more relaxed and down to earth and I didn't like the social pressure of Beauxbaton," She said with another shrug.
"Eh, fair enough," she said with a shrug, "though...there's always social pressures anywhere you go. Hogwarts, I hear, isn't very different. I heard there's a gang running amuck now that'll be interesting."
"I think it'll be fun, lot more interesting than what it was back in Beaux. God, it was kind of stifling but...a gang? Now that's going to be fun," she said with a grin, her eyes sparking at the thought.

"Something like that". She repeated with a shrug, not really believing Charlie but she couldn't exactly argue with her. "Yeah, I am an only child. My mother had complications during my birth, left her unable to have a stable pregnancy after I was born."

"Of course, maybe a little sister or brother about 2-3 years younger than me. Someone to be my buddy, my friend... It's pretty lonely being an only child, especially when both my parents work. What about you? You ever want siblings too?"
"I don't know, I don't think I'd have been friends with them if I did," she said. This was true, somewhat, she was never exactly close with the closest sibling of hers, Raphael. He was a year older and they were constantly at each other's throats. Well, until the end. "I don't really delve down into the what ifs."
