The second she'd unpacked all of her stuff, Daria had grabbed Elsie and dragged her to the local quidditch store. She'd expected people to recognize them, but barely anyone did. And the quidditch store was surprisingly empty aside from the employee by the register. "A place like this in Norway or Bulgaria would be full of people," she shakes her head as she looks around the shop.

After getting settled in, the blonde was already being ripped from her spot on the couch and dragged off to some quidditch shop. "If we were back home, we wouldn't be able to go anywhere near the shop," she replied, before sighing and shaking her head somewhat.

"True," Daria laughed, letting go of Elsie's hand as she slipped into the aisle with the brooms on display. "Do you think I should get a new one? My old one is a bit banged up already, and what better way to head into the World Cup than with a new broom..."

At that, her eyebrows raised into perfect arches, "Kanskje, but the actual World Cup is seven months away," she pointed out, before following in the other girl's footsteps. "However, it's your money, so you can do whatever you want with it, you know that already."

Daria dropped her hands to her sides, and turned her head to give Elsie a look. "I'm going to keep my current broom until the Cup comes around. I'm just debating buying a new one for it, or not," she said, rolling her eyes before looking back at the brooms. They all had their ups and downs, but the Nimbus 2001 could do it... or a Firebolt?

He'd walk into the store, looking to stock up on gear and stuff. Hey, not his fault that about 100 beater bats have been broken at home.

Gratified that not many people appeared to recognise her, the redhead was planning on buying a few new bats and a broom in preparation for the Cup. Her old ones would do for now, but when the tough got going the high end stuff would need to be new.

He'd look around the brooms, see if there was anything worth it. His Firebolt was a stubborn broom, but Leif fears that at some point, it will give in.

Humming a little, she eventually picks one of the firebolts. She firmly believe that brooms are like wands, they choose their rider, and the smooth handle had felt...right. If you asked her to explain the feeling, she couldn't, a warmth of some sort. Moving on to the bats, Pyrrha weighed them in both hands to see which worked best with her ambidexterity. Some were just clumsy in her less dominant hand, her right. And she needed a bat she could rely on should her left arm be compromised.

The redhead turned around, having now mostly chosen her things, grinning. "It was difficult," she admitted, "You have to choose the right one." Despite the fact she chose to play for Norway over Germany, she still had a rush of respect for their players. "Same goes for the bats really. They're not something that can be mass manufactured the same way as things are in the Muggle world. Each one has like, a different soul."

"Mine was a graduation present, so I can understand it feeling like an old friend. Every nick, every one of the callouses on an old broom, you know where it came from." Pyrrha remembered finding snug dents that were easy to grip. First time around she'd rejected the offer of the Norwegian team to replace her broom, but finally she was making good of it. "How long have you been playing?" she asked curiously. He didn't seem to recognise her. That was almost nice. She tugged her sleeve over the small Norwegian flag tattoo she had gotten to commemorate her first international.

"That makes me look like a Quidditch fetus," Pyrrha tried to make the best of that. "I've been playing professionally for about five years. The national team, only this past year. I'm the newbie of the rest, I think. We'll be hoping to do well - as will you, I presume. Do you hope to avenge last year's result by playing the United States? "Two world wars and one world cup" is surely getting boring to hear, no?"

"I have a little German in me myself, from my mum. So I'll definitely root for you if you play them. But if you get us, I can't go easy, you know. Norway's got something to prove if we make it." Pyrrha turns one of the bats over in her hand. "I met one of the new USA chasers, Sapphire. Allen. She plays in your league so you might know her."

The name's odd, so it's befitting of an odd person like myself. I embrace it." The way she flickered between philosophical and straight up conversational could be jarring.

"It's the name Achilles used when he cross dressed. And I'm not even Greek. I'd call it at least a little odd." Despite herself, Pyrrha laughed, stifling it with her palm. "'Leaf'...that's, um. Unfortunate but at the same time hilarious. I'm not sorry if I call you that for the rest of your life,"

"Yup, it's probably not best to hit bludgers at someone with a bat. I have wanted to make bludger tennis a sport since fourth year so, if you get the urge, feel free to try. I did experiment with Chaser at school, but I'm a better beater for sure. It was a bit of a learning curve,"

She'd take note of the broom. Her Comet was fairly new, mind you, and she has no intent on replacing her broom at the moment. But the broom servicing kit may come in handy... she made mental note to come back and stock up on some after each game.

"I used to overhear my parents and occasionally grandparents talk about how different I was since the day I was born. They once mentioned how when I was a toddler, I'd almost always get out of me and my brother's room and be found outside playing with a football. And once, I heard that they kept getting frustrated at how I'd rarely ever be indoors."
