She's already in her robes, her Head Girl badge pinned to them and shining brightly. She waits for Dex to give his introductory speech and what his goals for the year are, before clearing her throat and giving her own, with the warm smile she finds she can offer to her prefects. "First and foremost, welcome back to Hogwarts! I can see there's old faces, but there's also ones I've never seen before, so welcome aboard the Prefects' Carriage," she says, her tone not unkind. "I know some of you are bummed to be back stuck in rounds and whatnot, but let me remind you - you did sign up for this. You're the face of the student body and work to represent your house. Do it fairly, guys. You can deduct points, but if you're caught doing so unfairly, you'll be stripped of your power. You can give detentions, but again, if and only if rules have been broken. If you're uncertain whether they're doing something that's wrong, then take them to your Head of House, as the chances of bias are less probable, if there's any at all. You can never be too careful," she says, with a half-smile. "Don't forget you'll be leading your new first years to your common rooms after the start-of-term feast. You will introduce them to what will be their home for the next seven years. Don't scare them. Impress them. Answer any questions they may have and ease any worries they might have, whether it's about their house, or how they may be treated because of their sorting. You are a leader, before all else. You are the bridge between students and professors. Do not fail at your duties to be an example. Help those you believe need it. Tutor them. Explain things they may not get. Teach them. Assuage the fears of those who have them. Be polite and fair and never ignore your students. Being a prefect is a privilege that comes with its own benefits, including a bathroom. Should you not aid your students, or should Dex or I find out you're abusing your powers, we will see to it that you're stripped of all the benefits that come with. You'll be reported, and you can rest assured you'll also be serving detention until one of us sees fit," she says, giving them all a serious look. "You can have your fun, but school isn't all jokes - take the role seriously. Earn the students' trust and respect. Trust me, it'll come a long way," she takes a pause. "Aside from that, I hope we'll have a great year this year. If any of you need anything, Dex and I's common room will be open to all of you," she says. "Today's round schedules are posted at the exit, and the next week's will be posted by tomorrow. Let's get to it, people," she says, her tone clearly one clearly closing the meeting.
Kyler moved into the Prefects' carriage, sinking into a seat and listening the Head Students' little speeches. Although she listened, she didn't really absorb much of it in the end, but that was okay. After all, she was still willing to walk away with the basics of the whole thing.

Wolfie saunters into the prefects'carriage, knowing this job, although annoying, was the step in a direction for her, and him. His thoughts are immediately scattered when he sees her. Why hadn't he considered that Meri would be here too? The werewolf makes his quick escape into the seat next to Kyler.

It wasn't until the prefects were gone for their rounds, or at least scampered back to their friends, that Tori took a seat. She should head off to her own carriage, or do some rounds of her own, but if she did it, she was sure she'd just find prefects neglecting their duties right off the bat and might get irked, even though she knows rounds in the carriages are pointless.

"Apparently Chevalier's," Tori remarks, finding herself smirking as she runs a hand through her chin-length wavy brown hair. Ugh, she still can't get used to the new length, but it was a change she needed. She felt lighter. Different, despite all else. "I was so fucking surprised when I found out Griffin stepped down and Chevalier was designated the new Headmaster, I'm not going to lie. And the Heads of Houses? What the fuck? All of them are new, I swear."

"Yes it is," she smirks, leaning back and crossing a leg over the other, as well as her arms over her chest. "Have you met our year? It's in our description. I wouldn't be surprised if two or three lost their jobs by the end of the year, or retired or something," she says casually.

She snickers. "You should've seen her after the attack that turned me into a werewolf happened. She looked as though an aneurysm had burst inside her," she remarks. "...I'm going to miss her, though. She was a cool professor."

"I guess," Tori shrugs a shoulder, her look of uncertainty shifting into one of wariness as Dex mentions Kev. Her heartbeat quickens a little bit, and she feels this odd sensation, thus her facial expression shifts, albeit briefly. "Yes," she says slowly. "Why?"
