*He heard some earlier sound, even words, but arrived in time only to catch with clarity his own name.* "I am, indeed, Garrick Ollivander, proprietor of this emporium. Presuming you seek a wand, is it a replacement of like for like, or are you looking for an assessment of needs?"
- "Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." Message Me
"I am looking for a brand new wand. The last time I came here very late so my parent took a regular wand which did not choose me and luckily I survived 3 years with that but I certainly felt that others can produce better magic but I can't.I took Wandlore in my third year and now I know.I dont think can survive the rest of 4 years with this,as I need a wand which will answer me very well,A wand built for my fingers,Mr.Olivander. "
"In which case, in order to furnish something appropriate I will need to know ... well, about you. What matters to you, where you come from, your hopes and dreams, almost anything you care to share, really."
- "Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." Message Me
"My dreams matters to me most.I like popularity, fame and I am a bit ambitious.I want to be a Head Aurror someday and after I retire from Ministry I would to teach DADA in hogwarts at old age."Noland looked at Mr.Olivander"Do you know a wand that'll suit me,I know you do you're the most famous wandmaker.I'm also Pure-Blood."
"It is a flattering encomium, dear boy, that you believe me thus capable upon so shallow a foundation, but I fear we must dig a little deeper if we are to unearth those areas of essential compatibility. For example, what, for you, is the most important quality in a friend?"
"In which case," *Long fingers scuttle over the protruding edges, extracting a single box with a certain panache and no visible movement from the stack it was in.* "I feel this may serve - ten and one quarter inches of Poplar surrounding an Orange Fwooper Feather, taken from a particularly fine specimen found amid the Olmec ruins near Cascajal. Please, give it a swish."
"Ah. Apparently not. Very well, let us proceed. *The hands dart and weave once more among the box-ends, picking out one example from almost the midst, with a deft and seamless touch.* "Here we have a Unicorn Mane Hair encompassed in nine and one half inches of Cedar of Lebanon. Again, please try it out."
As Theomere Halbert entered Ollivander's he let out an audible gasp. Where some might find a dimly lit shop stacked to the ceiling with boxes boring, he found it enthralling. It was the place where all of his interests could come together. There was excellent craft made by skilled hands, mysterious knowledge that would take months, years, or decades to discover, and there was unmistakably the potential of great power.
"Answers would be excessively vague if we addressed only the generalities, so may I recommend we find the wand and then look at its particular qualities. In order to do that, I need to know more about you, your goals and ambitions, roots and interests, basically anything you feel able to tell me."
If you mean what I feel are the most admirable traits of a person that would be intelligence strength in time of need and, most important, for the strong to show mercy to mercy to those lesser than themselves, to be their shield against evil. I also am enthralled by duelling and wish to become a professional dueller some day, however I wish to win my duels by cunning and brains not by brute force. To me there is nothing more important than being proud and yet not arrogant, I wish to never commit that sin.
I am looking forward to all subjects, but the ones I am anticipating the most iare Defense Against the Dark Art, for the combative spells it teaches, Astronomy ,a good logical art, and Transfiguration, I have always been fascinated with transformations.
The sword, if I am able to subdue my enemies before they can harm me or someone else, I will go way unscathed. Though it would be a great honor for me to come into contact with either legendary artifact, or any artifact near they're importance.
"داخل هذه الجدران، والكثير يتم توفيرها، كلا من المعرفة والمعدات. Therefore, that Hogwarts has among its latest intake a Syrian refugee is documented, and the deduction is ... not a complex one. I assume you are looking for a wand, to complete your school supplies?"
"As I have never - in nine decades - made such an enquiry, you may rest assured, I have no intent to start now. However, presuming you wish to smooth your own way through your school years, may I recommend you not make a habit of such pronouncements. They tend to have the opposite effect to the one requested. In short, it's best not to talk about it. So, on the matter of the wand, well, as it says over the door, 'The wand chooses the wizard', but to help find the right partner, it's best that I know something of you. So, please, tell me about yourself."
"That last is ... well established in the street, young sir. Come, come, you cannot imagine we wish you harm. Any shopkeeper here filing a report would have seen you picked up by Ministry Aurors in hours, so you may reasonably realise that your presence has been known and tolerated for some time. For a wand, however, other matters are liable to count more, so, for example, what is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?"
"Hmm. A possibility occurs, although, in truth, it was more an exercise in xylic resonance than an intended product for sale, however ... Just a moment." *The old man disappears into the backroom, and there is considerable clattering. He emerges shortly, a little flushed and holding a slightly foxed wandbox.* "This was, in a moment of whimsy, dubbed the 'Lois Lane' by my branch manager to the north, and regrettably the name has a certain earworm quality which I have been unable to expunge. It is, in fact, Laurel and Lethifold Tooth, ten inches exactly, but its compatibility with the audacious and imperiled led to this flip, but apropos, soubriquet. If not, we may readily look elsewhere, but a wandmaker learns to go with the impulse of the moment. So, please, try it out."
"I fear I can offer no better guide, young sir, than your own feelings. The key issue, I find, is frequently to separate whatever it may have been you were expecting from what is - here and now. The wand in your hand, does that feel like a natural extension of who you are?"
"As the wand was neither constructed nor intended for sale, let us presume than you will, some day when the time is ripe, pay for it by helping another individual in need." *He holds out his hand - to shake, not for payment.*
