If Maron was to be asked on how he felt about his parents, he would feel nothing but pride. Well, that was what he always felt throughout the first eleven years of his life. Although both Muggles, Eugene and Odessa had their own right to be considered as extraordinary individuals. His father, a renowned doctor in England, was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons while his mother served as a military nurse in the army. Truth be told, Maron was the result of an arranged marriage that united two powerful clans of doctors in England.
Being an only child, he had everything for himself. Along with the recognition he received from people, the pressure of becoming a doctor came naturally as well. Not wanting to disappoint his parents, Maron initially forced himself to follow their footsteps. Sometimes, he felt strangled by the future prepared for and laid before him. But Maron, selfless as he was, let himself be strangled. All he could ever reason was that it would make his family proud.
Maron started to manifest signs of magical ability when he was six years old. While he was fast asleep in his bed, men of ill intent attempted to abduct him. However, his mother came to the rescue with a gun on her back. As much as she resorted to subduing them with her bare hands, she had no choice but to open fire when one of the abductors pulled out his pistol. In a matter of seconds, the latter was shot dead. However, Odessa was nearly late when she noticed that Maron was shot as well. He was rushed to the clinic his parents owned, where Eugene himself took out the bullets. Much to his parent's surprise, Maron's wounds seemed to have stopped bleeding quickly, and that these were healing faster than usual. Whether it was a coincidence, considering his bloodline, or his destiny, the incident left Eugene and Odessa perplexed. The same thing happened during several incidents after that. Whenever Maron got injured, his wounds or bruises usually healed quicker than normal Muggles.
Life went on for the Eyries over the next few years, until certain circumstances sent their family in a downward spiral. When he was ten years old, Odessa was called to an overseas mission in Islamabad, Pakistan. Unfortunately, she died after contracting an unknown and indigenous virus during the battle, on top of the numerous injuries she have received when several grenades exploded in her vicinity. Her death insidiously flung Eugene to a state of depression. Not wanting his other family members to suspect his condition, he continued working as head surgeon in a certain hospital in London. However, his depression only worsened drastically in a span of a year, and this affected his work extremely. Consequently, his license was stripped off, his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons nullified, and he was sent to jail to serve a sentence of ten years after being proved guilty of malpractice and performing surgery under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Maron, who was under the care of his paternal grandparents ever since his mother's death, was devastated to hear that Eugene, who already developed symptoms of dementia, committed suicide after a psychotic episode in prison. Catalyzed by his father's death, Maron realized the true of essence of his dream of becoming a doctor. It was not just to make other people proud anymore. He was doing it so that nobody could suffer the same fate as his parents.
However, his internal turmoils were still burning and raging. During the funeral, 11-year old Maron can no longer hold the grief, despair, and longing he kept locked up inside. While delivering the eulogy for his father, he didn't realize that his emotions are causing the lights and candles to magically flicker on and off. Discovering his nephew's affinity for magic, one of his Muggle-born witch aunts, Ophelia, rushed to take Maron to her home right after the funeral. Still waiting for the right time to explain everything to him because of the recent event, his Hogwarts letter arrived. From there, Aunt Ophelia told him about the wizarding world.
A few weeks later, he was brought by his aunt to Diagon Alley, and then to Platform 9 3/4 to see him off. Once in Hogwarts, he was sorted to House _____.
