Jenelle wasn't the biggest fan of dresses. That fear and disgust towards them has worn away since her childhood, slowly yet surely. While she had hesitated in agreeing, she had simply smiled and followed Noelle, making sure to keep close to her. Upon entering, she stood beside her a bit awkwardly like a lost puppy. "Do you need a new dress for something?"
She'd shake her head. "Non. 'Zey just look nice, and we ARE shopping after all. Besides, I bet Ayden would be a 'appy man if 'e came 'ome to you all dressed up." She'd smile. "Besides, 'zey sell more 'zen just robes and gowns 'ere. Pick something out to try on."
"I don't think Aydan cares about that sort of stuff," she said as she looked away from the other female to start walking around the shop. If anything, she just needed some sort of simple summer dress, but she doubted they carried those when winter was approaching. "And, shopping means you're buying. I suppose we're really just...browsing, aren't we?" she said, tossing her a small smile.
"I can buy it," she said, once again giving her a small smile because she didn't want Noelle spending money on her when she wasn't sure she had a job yet. The former Ravenclaw reached out and felt a sleek, blue dress. It happens to not be her color though, but it was quite a nice gown. "I feel comfortable and confident in jeans. I figured Aydan was okay with that. If he isn't, then it sucks to be him, I suppose."
She'd laugh. "I'm sure 'e is ok with it as you are a very attractive woman. ...but 'zat doesn't mean he wouldn't also love you in something silky or clingy." She'd nod to the blue dress. "Why not try it on."
Jenelle tried not to turn too pink, "I'm not that attractive. I'm kind of okay, at least compared to you...because you're gorgeous and you know that," she said, feeling like she was just overflowing with word vomit so she tried to shut up and move on. "It's not my color and I already have too many items in blue. I've really liked...off-white colors, especially the lighter pinks recently."
She'd give Jenelle a small smile, then flick her wand at the dress, turning it a soft light pastel pink. "Is'z a simple charm 'zat will wear off in a few hours...but I think you're right and 'ze pink would suit you well."
Jenelle gave her a thankful smile, before grabbing it off the rack. "Do you want to grab a dress for yourself, then we can try them on together?" she asked, pushing back her hair behind her ears with her free hand.
Jenelle nodded and led them towards the dressing rooms (which she only remembered the location of because of the sign). After getting changed, she noticed there was a small slit on the side of it. Thankfully, there were at least cap sleeves. That's a bonus, right? While she exited, she tried to keep the slit closed as much as possible. "Hey, Noelle? Are you almost done?"
She'd smile at the attention, enjoying it. She'd look Jenelle up and down. "Yes...I agree." She'd go back to the racks and look, finding a pink dress a bit brighter, shorter, with no shoulders and thin straps. "Try 'zis."
"Uhh. Noelle, I love and adore you, but I don't think that works..." she said, shaking her head. "It's too bright...and way too short." The blonde looked down at her legs, mostly just thinking of what scarring was on her thighs. It might not be the most noticeable scars ever, but she still knew they were there and that was enough for her.
"I can assure you that I won't," she said, grumbling slightly before going into the dressing room to change. It hadn't taken her that long, but she stayed in there for a bit, trying to get herself to go out before she finally did.
She'd grin. "See, what did I tell you? It looks amazing. 'ze neckline emphasizes your cleavage nicely, and your figure, and 'ze length iz' perfect for it to be flirty but not slutty." She'd nod appreciatively. "Now you just need shoes."
Jenelle looked down, placing her hands on her thighs to keep the dress from coming up any. "What cleavage?" she joked, laughing but she remained pretty stiff especially at the derogatory term. "I have plenty of flats that I think could work fine..." she said.
She'd shake her head at the self-insult. "You 'ave cleavage darling...just 'ze right amount for 'zat dress...and of course flats could work, but women wear 'eals for a reason...and 'zey would make all 'ze difference in 'zat dress."
Jenelle sighed. It was taking everything inside of her not to argue with Noelle, but she was trying to bite her lip and keep it in. "Well, what does it matter to you? It seems like you're the only one that cares," she said, her tone calm and collected.
"I didn't think so, but thanks for making me doubt that...If he does care, then he can f*ck off. I'm sure that after four years though, he's probably realized by now that I'm not going to be the girl to dress up for him."
"Noelle, you don't need revealing dresses to get boys or...girls, for that matter, to like you." she said, sighing. "Plus, a big part of why people like other people are for their personalities and shared interests...It's not all about living up to some beauty standard."
"Yeah, sexuality doesn't really work like that," she said, shrugging. The blonde paused, obviously in thought, before she sighed and continued. "I still think that...girls are a lot more attractive than boys. Sure, Aydan is amazing, but I will forever prefer girls over boys...and that makes me feel guilty sometimes."
"I...don't know. I've been considering calling it off, because I'm not sure that it will be? And I take divorce and marriage seriously, so I don't want that to happen all because I couldn't wait and see if it was actually the right way to go." She paused. "I don't want to...regret anything, but that sounds terrible."
"I would be fine not marrying him or anybody, for that matter. I don't need to get married...so if it came down to it, I would cancel it altogether but I'm not getting pushed into something I'm not ready for."
