The roars the crowd are overwhelming, the circular arena is filled with tall, rock spires jutting in the sky. In the center is a creature you can't see. Your grip tightens on your wand as you walk into a gap between two of the jagged towers of rock. Your eyes widen with fear as it begins.
Note: Roleplays by people in the crowds should take place in the comments.
"Welcome, welcome one and all to the Annual House Tournament! Well, I do not want to bore you all with an introduction speech, so I won't. However...I will end your suspense! The first task will be.......Dragons! Our champions will simply --well maybe not so simply-- they will proceed through this maze of rock towers avoiding the dragon which has been placed at the center. On the other side of the arena, there is one silver egg, that will hatch when the time comes. It is the champions duty to retrieve this egg, then make their way back to the arena's exit. Let the Games Begin!"
The fire went out, but his right arm was burned and the arm on his robe was crumbling to bits, leaving his skin exposed to the cool air. The dragon positioned itself just behind the rock, ready to attack James when he tried to run.
Elizabeth entered the arena. She had her wand in hand and awaited to see which dragon she would be facing. Luckly she was good at Care of Magical Creature so identifing the dragon shouldn't be a problem, but getting around it .... that was another story.
Elizabeth recongnized the Romanian Longhorn by it's long horn heading right for her. She dashed out of the way behind one of the towers of stone, clutching her wand for her life. She stopped behind the wall to gather her thoughts. 'That beast was running after her'. She shook off the terror and took off running for the next tower. While running she used a spell that Lily had taught her. She used her regular sheild charm and created a physical sheild. "Protego. Fianto Duri!" She then put a charm on it to protect it from fire, "Impervius!" as well as an unbreakable charm. She hid behind another wall, wand and sheild in hand, looking for the egg.
Elizabeth glimpsed the egg, surprisingly close, at the very far edge of the wall she was hiding behind. Suddenly, the dragon flew at her, attempting to trap her beneath it's feet. Elizabeth had barely five seconds warning.
Elizabeth saw the glimpse of the egg to her left along the side of the wall. She was so excited to be so close but tha dragon was right there. She hated to do it but the only thing she could do was to jump to her right to the opposite side of the wall and take off running. The dragon would hopefully be slowed down by crashing into the wall. She would have to go back for the egg later. She stopped at the next wall where she would have a perfect view of the dragon when it crashed through the wall. Elizabeth held her wand high pointing it to where the dragon would soon be. She was going to cast a Permanent Sticking Charm on the dragons eyes the second she could in hopes that the eyelids would be stuck shut.
The dragon crashed through the wall easily. In its process, it blocked Elizabeth's path to the egg, and its flailing foot caught her in the leg, making her crash to the ground. It brought its other foot forward, attempting to scoop Elizabeth up in its grasp.
As the dragon crashed through the wall, Elizabeth cast her Permenant Sticking Charm, right at the dragons eyes. But then the dragon was right there. She fell to the ground and saw the other foot coming for her. Elizabeth had no idea what to do. She had no more spells that could hurt a dragon enough to get it away from her. Then it came to her. All she had to do was suprise the dragon for a moment to give her enough time to get away. She picked up her wand and with all she had left she used the Sonorous Charm, creating a loud magnified roar from her wand.
The egg soared into the air toward Elizabeth, but the dragon leapt into the air with it and grabbed it. The spell sent both the dragon and the egg towards Elizabeth. The egg flew into her hands, but then she was inches away from the dragon's teeth. It opened its jaws and attempted to crunch her.
Elizabeth held onto the egg tightly. She caught sight of her shield lying nearby. It still had the unbreakable charm on it. She grabbed the shield and put it in her place between the dragon's closing jaw. She scrambled for the exit.
Dunstan looked at the Opaleye. He had read about their beauty, but until now, never fully appreciated it. These dragos were not usually aggressive, unlesss provoked, so dunstan cast a dillusionment char upon himself to try and sneak through to the egg.
The dragon was truly provoked now, as it couldn't find Dunstan no matter what it tried. Opaleyes were smarter than the average dragons and half-instinctively, half-consciously went over to the egg and shielded it with its wing.
Dunstan's plan was well thought out, except for one little kink - now the dragon was set on protecting the egg from the snake-beast. It grabbed the egg in its claws and tried to fly away - but being chained down, it only got about 7 feet off the ground. Many people in the audience were wondering foolishly if Dunstan had actually summoned a basilisk, though this was obviously impossible.
His mind clicked instantly. He had tow objectives, get the dragon down, so the Snake could carry on as a distraction and he had to get the egg away from the dragon. he cast a tickling hex, "titillandus!" , at the dragon in the hope that it would drop the egg, and he could catch it. He then cast "Liberacorpus" at the dragon, in the hope that it would fall back down and continue with the snake.
On the other side of the arena, the dragon and snake were battling it out. With a gust of fire-breath, however, the dragon delivered the death blow to the snake. It had, at this point, forgotten Dunstan, and was currently reveling in its success.
