At Venus' request, Ant is already getting the Hall of Hexes all set up for rehearsals. She was so angry about the twins defecting to WADA that she's been on his case the whole summer about them needing to practice right away for regionals, but Ant's heart isn't into it (Well, at least not as much as Venus, but there's no one as intense about Frog Choir as Venus is, he thinks.) nowadays because of his fight with Marisha. At least cleaning up the hall gives him some time to be alone and reflect, not that he plans on apologizing any time soon.

Mira was also incredibly upset. She'd hoped her final year would be great but she'd been hit with the information she was going to be quidditch captain for the year. Which would have been fine, if she knew how to play quidditch. She hadn't touched a broom after her first year and barely even knew the rules beside what she'd witnessed in the few games she's roasted watched on her flootube channel. She'd spent the afternoon getting use to being on a broom and reading up on rules that she's forgotten that she also signed up for frog choir. Then she bolted over to the hall, mistaking a meeting next week was this week and crashed into the room. "Hi! I am so sorry, am I late?" She asked, panting.

Ant looks up when he hears the rush of footsteps, looking a bit confused. "Uh, no." he tells the girl who's just arrived. "You're actually about a... week early, so you're not in danger of becoming the frog food tester this time." He remembers just how paranoid Venus was about the idea that someone would try to poison another one of the toads after what happened with Swamp, though he's also convinced that toad's death was premeditated and not at all an accident. He isn't sure if he just doesn't care too much for the other Frog Choir members aside from Venus or if she's new, but he isn't really afraid of looking rude by asking. "You new?"

Mira's face fell when she heard week early. "Oh," she said with added emphasis, "it starts next week? Shit, my bad." Mira could relax. Who was she kidding-she had a week to cry about quidditch and not be interrupted by other responsibilities such as frog choir. Just kidding-she didn't cry. Or did she? "To the choir or to Hogwarts? Former yes, latter very much no. I've been in this Mary Shelly wannabe castle since first year. You gotta be one of the captains. Uh...Ant, right?" He had to be Ant. The name sort of stuck with her for obvious reasons. Who named their child Ant?

"Yes, that's me." he answers, sticking out his hand to shake hers. "I'm Vice President. I don't know if you've met Venus, yet, but she's the president and a lot more into this than I am, so if you have any questions, it's probably best to just message her Witchagram instead." He runs his other hand through his hair a bit sheepishly. He feels a bit defensive, as he always does while having to explain that he's actually one of the heads of frog choir. It's not like they're the most popular bunch. "Are you okay, by the way?" he can't help but ask, "You look a bit... stressed."

Mira might have to message her. Hopes she doesn't get blocked under the impression on people thinking she's a bot. She has two witchagrams, one of them a fitcha (finsta but make it witchagram...it's a working title for Mira) and she always ends up getting blocked on that one. But the other one is her public one and she doesn't really like using it for personal stuff. "Uh...that's okay, I think I'm good. Just not that good at time keeping apparently," she said with an awkward laugh. "Yeah. This year just hasn't really started the way I thought it would I guess. Nothing big. How come you're here alone?" She asked, quickly glancing around to make sure that statement is correct and there wasn't another person hiding somewhere. "Venus not available to help?"

Ant chooses to answer her last question before trying to look into her other statements. He's curious, and getting to know the other members of Frog Choir is better than fixing up the Hall in silence. "She's dealing with Helen. Sorry – I mean, Helene." he explains. Professor Pendragon was not amused when Ant misspelled her name on the club registration form, and he still slips from time to time because it was just so funny to him. "It sucks to hear that your year isn't off to a great start." Neither is his. "Did anything in particular happen?"

Mira didn't make it a thing to go around knowing professor's first name so she had no idea who Helene was. Should she? "Is Helene someone difficult?" She asked, always curious for some gossip. "An unruly toad? And yeah, kinda. I've been quidditch captain!" She paused before adding on, "I haven't played since first year." The only times she really watches quidditch is when she's high and filming herself trying to keep up with it. It's not...exactly the best way to learn how to play a game.

Ant notes the Ravenclaw tie and at her comment about not having played since first year, he has to hold his tongue before he makes a comment like there goes their house's chances at winning the Quidditch cup. Ant plays, but he doesn't particularly enjoy it and he doesn't care enough about the sport to be truly upset, but he knows a couple housemates that might be. "That is such a Ravenclaw problem." he ends up saying instead. There are times when the house stereotypes really shine through, like how the Gryffindor team always seems to have a full set of reserves while there are posters everywhere in the Ravenclaw common room begging people to sign up. "I'm surprised this hasn't happened to us before. How'd you even get in this position?"

"I don't think anyone else applied. I applied for prefect but...didn't get it...so our head of house decided it was best if I took it," Mira said. In truth, she had no idea what the reasoning was but Ravenclaw wasn't a big sports player. "Do you by any chance, play?"

Ant sincerely hopes that he won't get roped into playing if he answers honestly, but it makes him feel bad lying to people he's just met, so he opts for the truth. "A little." he says, "Sometimes I play chaser with my friends." It's the easiest and least pressuring position, at least that's what Ant thinks, because you could suck and rely on the other two to carry you. Not to mention, the game is won by whoever wins the snitch majority of the time, so it's not like getting the quaffle through the hoops is really of utmost importance. "I don't enjoy it much." he adds after. Normally, he lies about being more into it (it's cool to be into sports, after all), but he doesn't want to give Mira the impression that he'd be a good addition to the house team. "But it's easy to pick up, if you're stressed about learning."

That's more than what she played! "Oh my god, you should totally sign up! It'll be just like playing with friends!" Please, Mira was desperate here. "Here! I even have the sign up sheet with me, please!" She showed him the list. She'd gotten four people to sign up for it. Four. "It'll be fun!" This was a lie, she knew it wasn't going to be fun. This season will be painful for Ravenclaw. Her grin was big and completely full of hope and optimism that she might somehow convince this guy to do it.

Ant really does not enjoy Quidditch, but Mira looks so desperate for players on the team that he feels sorry for her. "I'll try to see if some of my friends are interested." he says, which is really just a kind way of saying no. He's sure some of them will be willing to play, even if another house is probably going to end up taking home the cup. He notices the names on the list and has to bite his tongue to keep from laughing. Four people? Merlin help her. "I'm sure you'll find more people to sign up before the first match, though. You'll be fine."

Look-it wasn't a yes, and she was pretty sure the guy was blowing her off, but it wasn't a no either. She grinned and rushed forward, pressing the paper into his hand. She had copies and the paper was charmed that whoever wrote their name on his then they were to appear on her one. "Thanks so much," she said with a smile. "I'm sure I will but I need to auditions and all that. Are they called auditions? Trials? I don't even know." She could also tell he was wanting to laugh but she couldn't even blame him. She'd have laughed at her too if she were in his position.
