"Alright, this session we'll be taking a look at the plants you got the first week of classes to see how they're doing. I'll be moving around and checking thigs out and if you have any questions about your plants please ask."

OOC: Since nobody actually picked any feel free to post here with what you picked and how it's doing.

He had his pot of Dittany sitting on his desk, hoping that it would pass. He tried his best to take care of the delicate plant, and it didn't look dead but he wasn't sure how healthy it really was.

He'd look over Callum's plant. "Well Mr. Dane...you've done an acceptable job. It's not quite as alive and potent as it could be. You can tell from the slightly off brown color and lack of vapors but in a pinch it would definitely work to heal wounds. I would recommend making sure it gets watered just a bit more frequently through the rest of the year and maybe getting some fertilizer from the outskirts of the forbidden forest for it if you really want it to shine since it grows there naturally. For now I'd grade it as Acceptable. Any questions?"

He was a little disappointed, but decided to ask a question anyways. "If I work on my plant more, can I bring my grade up by the end of school?" He asked, hopeful.

He'd nod and smile. "Of course. I don't give a grade for this until the end and what's more important is for you to learn this since your O.W.Ls at the end of this year will matter much more than any grade I give you. You're already learning a lot about dittany just caring for it and helping it grow better will give you more insight overall into magical plants so you can pass those exams with flying colors."

He had his glass fish tank sitting on his desk, full of Gillyweed. Thanks to his brains he was able to figure out how to grow it without actually needing it to be in the sea, but he wasn't sure if it would have the same effects as sea-grown Gillyweed.

He'd look at the tank then carefully pull out a sample of the gillyweed and examine it closely. "This looks well cared for and growing it this way was quite brilliant. Are you using fresh or seawater?"

"Fresh water, I get the water from the black lake. I would have liked to use seawater, but I can only get that in Diagon Alley and it's very expensive if I try to get it anywhere else." He said with a small shrug, "But thank you! I really appreciate it," He said happily.

He'd nod. "Of course...so far this is excellent work. If you'd like to examine the differences I could get a tank of salt water set up for you in one of the greenhouses. Of course you're already doing well so don't think you need to if you're not interested or wouldn't have the time."

"That would be awesome! If you could do that then I could study the differences, which might help with research in the future... So yes! If that could work, I'd appreciate it,"

He'd picked a Fire-Seed bush, and he went over to where it was. It didn't seem to be doing too bad, but the fire seeds lacked, well.... fire.

Send Me an Owl! - 13:27, September 6, 2018 (UTC)
He'd look at the poor plant and grimace. "Well you're plant's not completely dead yet but close. Remember how if it's fires go completely out it'll die...but I still see some small smoldering going on at the base. The seeds would be worthless as is. You're doing an acceptable job with the basic plant care but need to focus on the fire this specific plant needs. Twice a day you should be using fire spells on it for short periods of time to help get it's fires going. You'll have to do it slowly...too much suddenly could kill it or cause it to completely combust. For now I'm going to have to grade it as a Poor but you still have until the end of the year to help it along and increase that grade. Any questions?"

He sighed and shook his head. He pulled his wand and placed it near the base of the plant. He pictured just a kindling fire... not a lot, and not growing until he wanted it to. "Incendio."

He'd look around the room seriously as the students moved in. "Alright class...this lesson will be very serious as I'm sure you'll all understand. Mandrakes. We have some nearly adult ones that need repotting for the final time and their cries are quite dangerous so there will be no messing around or horseplaying this session. We'll be wearing ear protection just in case but as normal with these sort of threats we'll be mostly relying on silencing charms since if they can't make noise they can't hurt you. You're to silence your mandrake, use a levitating charm to pull them out since they'll be too entrenched in their pot from having lived there as teenagers then transplant them into their new pot. Ear protection on and let's get started."

Dahlia was a little tense as she knew how dangerous adult Mandrakes were, and she made sure to slip on her ear protection and make sure it was tight and wouldn't fall off. She let out a breath and relaxed her shoulders a little, pulling out her wand and aiming it at her plant. "Silencio!" She said, hoping the spell worked. She didn't pull out her Mandrake just yet, as there were a few students who didn't have their earing protection on.

Charms? Did someone say charms? She knows adult mandrakes are a bit hazardous, but she isn't particularly concerned about having issues with her own work this class. She places her ear protection on firmly and draws her wand to cast, "Silencio!" on the plant before her. She looks around to see if everyone else has their ear protection on so she knows it's safe to proceed.

Everyone's ear protection was on so they could feel free to work with their mandrakes.

OOC: I'll leave the choice to each poster. If you want to GM for yourself feel free. If you want me to GM just mention it in the bubble and I will.

Dahlia takes in a deep breath, hoping that this will work. "Wingardium Leviosa" She says, wand pointed at the mandrake.
OOC: If you could GM for Dahlia I'd appreciate it c:

Dahlia's mandrake would be deeply rooted in the soil and resist strongly coming out of the soil even going so far as to try to grab the pot as it slowly came out until it was floating in the air. It's mouth would be wide open and it would clearly be screaming at the top of it's lungs.

She cringed at that, despite not being able to hear it it was almost like she could feel it. She just slowly floated the Mandrake in the air and over to where it was supposed to be repotted, really hoping not to trip or bump into someone.
