She'd smile at the students. "Welcome to Healing. I'm Professor Seraph and I teach Healing here as well as am a Healer and Coroner at St. Mungos. This year we'll be focusing on healing charms and transfiguration spells since they're the easiest to use and can heal the widest variety of ailments. So first off who knows what Healing is about or how it differs from muggle medicine?"

He'd smile at the students. "Welcome to Healing. I'm Professor Seraph and I teach Healing here as well as am a Healer and Coroner at St. Mungos. This year we'll be looking more closely at different types of Healing potions so hopefully you all are comfortable in your potions and herbology classes. We'll be starting with the Blood-Replenishing Potion. Name's pretty obvious but what do you guys know about this potion, when it's right to use them, or how to brew them?"

She doesn't know much, but she likes to keep a repertoire of basic potionry knowledge. "When administered, a one-time dose is rarely enough. It needs to be sustained until the blood levels are at a sort of equilibrium? So regular doses, generally dependant on how much blood loss has occurred."

She'd nod. "Very good Ms. du Mont...10 Points for Hufflepuff. Blood Replenishing potions actually cause the body to magically produce more blood more quickly to help account for blood loss. They're obviously used quite commonly since dealing with loss of blood is important and critical in healing. Can anyone think of a situation where you'd use one or a use other than the obvious one?"

He'd smile at the students. "Welcome to Healing. I'm Professor Seraph and I teach Healing here as well as am a Healer and Coroner at St. Mungos. This year we'll be looking more closely at different types of magical diseases and if I can get the permissions worked out hopefully taking some trips to St. Mungos to do some actual healing work. So let's start by going over some magical diseases...who knows a magical disease, it's symptoms, or how to cure it?"

She raises her hand. "There's scrofungulus, which I believe has flu-like symptoms, but also a rash in the neck-area. I think there was an outbreak here in Britain, like, fifteen years ago?"

She'd nod. "Close...ten years ago and it was a major outbreak. Quite a few people died. The disease had mutated so none of the old reliable ways to cure it worked anymore." She'd shake her head remembering. "However a new cure was found. this year we'll be discussing both mutating diseases and cures in depth. Any other diseases you can think of?"

OOC: It was Jan 2016...so ten years ago I think?
