1) Give a description of your character's personality. It must be at least two paragraphs long, seven sentences each.
Zlatko tends to be quite the loner. When he is with someone, it's one of his sisters more likely than not. He's the silent, brooding type that holds a strong presense in a room even if he doesn't say anything. Because he doesn't talk much, when he does, it's always important and thoughtful. He appears stoic most of the time, but it's usually because he's thinking. He's one of those "think before you speak" guys, unless he's angry, of course. Then, there's no telling what will come out of his mouth.
He may seem scary to strangers, but in reality, Z's an innocent puppy. He is confused half of the time because he doesn't get concept that the average person understands. Like fist bumps - who even does that? Since when is a punch a friendly gesture? He just doesn't get it. But he tries to. He really hates letting people down, and will do everything in his power to make sure he doesn't.
Z is also quite the thrill seeker. He may be quiet, but that means nothing when it comes to doing something insane to get his adrenaline pumping. Over the years, he's realized his favorite thing is being behind a wheel. He started out on go-karts, but has eventually moved up since then. Dirt bikes, four-wheelers, even actual cars if he can get ahold of them. He loves to race and is actually pretty good at it. His family worries he'll get hurt though. But to Z, the feeling of riding is worth it.
Zlatko is extremely protective over his friends and family, just as much as he is loyal. He's usually calm and quiet, but as soon as someone is in danger, it's like a switch is flipped. He can pummel anyone to the ground in mere seconds, but he's not invincible. He knows that. And he doesn't care. Z would go head to head with a giant if it meant protecting the one's he loves. He's abrasive when it comes to his anger, which is something he's trying to work on. Overall though, he's one of the most caring individuals you'll ever have the pleasure to meet.
2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? It must be at least three paragraphs long, seven sentences each.
Ljudevit and Lidija's romance was a slow-burning passion. The pair had grown up next door to each other in Split, Croatia. The two had grown up best friends, and everyone was convinced they'd just grow up and get married someday. The two struggled with their feelings, and whether they were real, or merely imagined because of what everyone else's expectations were. By the age of eighteen, they'd decided they were a couple, and they were married two years later. The couple loved to travel, and frequently spent months in France, which is where they were three years after they got married. It was about this time that Lidija was feeling... frustrated. She'd only been with one man her entire life, and there were still times when she doubted whether or not she truly loved her husband, or if she'd just convinced herself she did because of all the expectation. The doubt and curiosity led her straight to another man's bed...
The rest of that is history that inevitably cropped up later. What matters more is that Lidija and Ljudevit ultimately worked through their issues. Julija and Željka were born, and two years after Željka, Natalija Hana and Zlatko Dake entered the world on March 2nd, 2027; Zlatko is 12 minutes older than his twin sister, and boy does he play the big brother role. He's always been protective over his siblings, even if they were older than him. People say there are three different types of protective love: the die for you, the live for you, and the kill for you. Z is all three. That's why his first sign of magic at age seven when he needed to protect his twin. They were at the playground and one of the bigger kids had wanted to take Natalija's swing. Instead of waiting her turn, the kid shoved his sister off the swing and got on herself. Z rushed to his twin's side to make sure she was okay - only a couple of scrapes, but that didn't stop Zlatko's anger from bubbling up. One stone cold glare shattered the rusted hindge of the swing and sent the girl flying. He felt bad, but he also wasn't too hard on himself for it. After the twins realized what had happened, Natalija told him about her first magical encounter a few months prior. Looks like they weren't squibs. The summer before Natalija and Zlatko were supposed to start their Durmstrang journies, suddenly a lot of family turmoil came to light. It seems that Ljudevit had also had similar tendencies to that of his wife, just later than she'd had them. When the couple confessed their affairs, it seemed like it would tear the family apart. Zlatko didn't understand everything that went on, but his protective instincts kicked in. Whatever happened, he needed to protect his sisters. He knew that much. Eventually, Julija decided to find her birth father, and nothing was about to split the siblings up. So the whole family moved to England-- a place they'd spent time in before, so the area was at least familiar to them, and decided to stay for an extended amount of time while Ljudevit and Lidija worked through their issues, and Julija reconnected with her estranged family. So Z and his twin would begin their first year, not at Durmstrang, but at Hogwarts. No telling what's in store.
