The Character's Background

(Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

Despite being kickass at duelling, Valkyrie Grimm is generally pretty warm and inviting to new friends and exerts undying loyalty to those closest to her. Her moral compass seems to be able to keep people in check and she has a natural ability to calm down an anxious room. She appears to be pretty confident about her body and fashion sense and has been known to show off a little without any qualms and is insanely creative with her outfits. She has an affinity for Defense Against the Dark Arts and loves to duel just about anyone - not to mention her strange obsession with the Living Dead.

Val is literal animal and ghost whisperer with an insane talent to gain most people's trust, including that of spirit and beast. She is well versed in body language and uses power-poses to her advantage, makimg the aura around her powerful. Despite her attempts to be stoic, there is glimmers of suspicious gaps in her memory and random unexplainable fears. While completely unaware of the trauma she had endured as a child, she can't help but crumble into fits of frusteration. When angered, her face contorts into that of a creature or beast. Sometimes, it's just her ability go conjure fire in her hands that appears - which she was forced to work on for many years to even be able to do. Despite all of this, Valkyrie is a really cool person to know with history that needs help cracking open.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were German academics, philologists, cultural researchers, lexicographers, authors and ultimately wizards. They published folklore during the 19th century and popularized stories such as Cinderella, The Frog Prince, The Goose-Girl, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Now more recognizable by the title The Grimm Brothers, they were world-travelling story tellers that circulated an era of dark tales atypical to modern fairy tales. But they also had a bad side that most didn't see or know about. Wilhelm enjoyed torturing werewolves and vampires for the pure pleasure of being able to and Jacob begun to experiment with potions, spells and herbs and how they harmed each species of creature differently. While Jacob grew obsessed with his work, Whilhelm made time for a woman he had know since his childhood. Together they bore one son to carry on the Grimm name and promptly named him Hansel, as a tribute to the tale. Jacob bore no children and died from an unforseen illness. A few generations of sons later and Hansel the 3rd was born to Whilhelm the second. There was always seemed to be two Grimm's alive at once and no more, with a long history of most dying from fhe same illness as the original Jacob.

Whilhelm grieved the loss of his brother, James for some time until his own son was old enough to fill his old spot. Hansel the 3rd held a darkness akin to his father and uncle and begun to follow in their footsteps. Hansel was twenty five when Whilhelm brought in a veela named Mira for experimentation. He was trying to discover a way to put out a veela's fire against her will and had come up with a series of tests to try. Hansel took this time to develop a sort of Stockholm psychology over the creature and made her trust and eventually believe she loved him. They bore his first hybrid child together - a little girl who Hansel named Valkyrie - after the norse winged warriors who chose who died on the battlefield. Hansel willingly gave up his child to Whilhelm to run some tests and was left with a very injured infant. Mira, believing that Hansel was just like his uncle, robbed him of his ability to ever have children again. She was killed as punishmend and Hansel was forced to raise his now unwanted child alone, his plan to populate his life with hybrids now destroyed.

Valkyrie became a shared responsbility between her great uncle and father and while the pair made some effort to look after her, she became neglected and fussy. Tempers flared in regard to the young girl's behavior and when she was three years old, Hansel begun to lock her up in the attic of their manor with a nanny to tend her needs. She was five when she blew the window out of the attic with her magic and seven when she was offered up as a test subject for the first time. Her father began to study at what age could she master her fire throwing ability and inspect how her face could change into that of a creature when angered. His uncle would test what could make a half-veela weaker through means of torture, spells, potions and herbs. The torture continued until she was ten years old and Hansel never once interrupted him.

Valkyrie was released from her prison attic and painful experimentation so long as she didn't act up. Over time, she built trust and recieved privileges like going outside and eventually was allowed to recieve homeschooling lessons for her magic. Hansel even bought her books and papers on the living dead, as she seemed to take interest in the subject. Her favorite place to be was in the garden and she even planted an entire section in the box outside of her balcony with an array of vibrant flowers. Despite all the pain and suffering, she was a happy kid and tried her best to be a ray of sunshine but most of it was an act. Too afraid to do anything bad and go back to square one, she just kept quiet and obident. On her thirteenth birthday, she asked Hansel if she could attend Hogwarts and with certain terms and conditions, he obliged. One of them was that he would obliviate her of her memories so she couldn't expose their operations. So when she was ready to start her fourth year and was enrolled into Hogwarts, Hansel obliviated Valkyrie to forget all about their experimentations and underground work with the supernatural and instead implemented her focus about her family being on the stories they popularized. Once accepted, she was imtergrated into an amazing group of friends.
