Tae-Yang's strengths come by in his sunny and optimistic personality. His main weakness is his resentment from his childhood days.

The Character's Background

1) Give a history of your character. History must be at least two paragraphs long. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)
kang tae-hyun and his wife yamato hinata met at mahoutokoro. they started dating in their sixth year and got married at the age of 22. their life afterwards played out perfectly for them. they both had high-paying jobs, a beautiful home, and the child they always wanted: son tae-wook and daughter tae-hee, who they loved despite the fact that she was a squib.

however, at the age of eight, tae-hee began showing signs of acute promyelocytic leukemia. She was going to need a bone marrow transplant sometime in her life. no one in the family matched. or the many hundreds of available donors. hinata was not about to let her daughter die. desperate times call for desperate measures.

kang tae-yang was born a year later. in his early years, he had unfortunately been declared a match for tae-hee. from then on, he was living for his sister. their mother went from just a normal loving mom to overprotective mother of the year. he was never allowed to eat anything that wasn't considered healthy. he couldn't join sports because he could get hurt. from the moment he became a match, taeyang had to be ready for the day tae-hee needed him.

being a wealthy family, they lived in an affluent neighborhood and were close friends with the Min family next door. his sole friend growing up was their adopted son, ahn yoon-oh. they did everything together, and he was even homeschooled by the same teacher that taught yoon-oh. however, the min family meant more to tae-yang than just their neighbors and the family of his best friend. they became a true family to him.

when it became time for tae-yang to choose his magical school, the mins pleaded on his behalf to send him alongside yoon-oh to ilvermorny - he'd be healthier and in much better condition in america than if he stayed in the path of heavily congested south korea and japan. and they surprisingly agreed.

tae-yang thrived there. initially, he was too shy, but with support from new found friends and several professors, he began to come out of his shell and show the world the bright personality beneath his clouds. although he underwent his bone marrow transplant with his sister during his fourth year, it was a success, and everyone agreed that tae-hee was likely going to live a long time. although the strictness of his life was maintain just in case, his mother began paying him more attention. it felt like the happiest time of his life.

however, that all changed the winter break of his seventh year. tae-hee had been living her life as she wanted, due to wanting to achieve several of her childhood dreams. that included getting married...and having a child. although she had been cleared to go ahead with the pregnancy, she still suffered from weakness caused by her illness. which meant when her daughter was being delivered, she was in danger of drying. in an attempt to save her life, tae-yang's mother wanted tae-yang to undergo another surgery...but as he was of age, he refused.

every demeaning thing left her mouth at the moment. couldn't he see how selfish he was being? why couldn't he be a good son? he needed to do it for tae-hee. after this fight, tae-yang had decided that if his mother was demeaning him for not being available for tae-hee, he might as well not be available at all. so he attempted suicide using poison.

he never went back to ilvermorny. when he woke up, tae-yang learned of the birth of his niece...and the death of his sister. his parents had not visited. the min family intervened for him, and got him an apartment and therapy when he left the hospital. during the summer, tae-yang was joined by yoon-oh, and together, they lived together. those were tae-yang's dark days.

he always knew that yoon-oh had a thing for boys and bringing them home to do them all day. mostly one night stands. but as the summer went on, tae-yang noticed that a greek-korean by the name of theofanis michelakakis had literally just moved in. yoon-oh claimed he was his adoptive mum's nephew, visiting. theo was loud and proud and possibly one of the nicest people he'd ever met in his life. he's the one that tae-yang claims made him live up to his name.

even after the break up, which had turned into friendship with yoon-oh, tae-yang and theo kept in close contact. yoon-oh had moved out, saying that he didn't need to disturb tae-yang's apartment with those kind of sounds. tae-yang was living his happy days now, doing what he wanted to do. he took up dancing, something he was never able to do growing up, and saw himself become a natural at it. fate has their ways, though.

a fire broke out at their apartment complex, and tae-yang's apartment was unfortunately caught in it. it was destroyed, and upon hearing about it, theo had offered tae-yang the chance to come to live in London, in his own apartment. he was unofficially moved in with his boyfriend anyway. so tae-yang came, and he's ready to start a new chapter in his life.

2) Give a description of your character's personality. Personality must be at least one paragraph long. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or humble? (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

excited. adorable. polite. mindful of others. gets worried easily. tends to over think. strives for attention and praise.

At first glance, Tae-Yang is a bright, adorable person with a sunny personality. He's a really dedicated person, both to his family, friends, and his work, and ever humble, mostly refusing to show any sign of arrogance. He's a social person. He's outgoing and charming, chatters away with everyone, and makes friends easily.

Tae-Yang is mindful of other people's feelings, yet he feels like they should know the truth. Most of the time he tries to calmly state this, but if he's really pissed off, he can harshly say his honest opinions, though if he feels bad afterward, Tae-Yang won't hesitate to apologize and make up for it.

Tae-Yang is a really supportive person, and he plays the part of the '#1 fan' extremely well, often showing his love and support in whatever cause that person is doing, and offering gentle to no criticism. He will not hesitate to help out anyone who needs help, and is very selfless. He's a reliable person, always there, no matter what. He's patient and understanding of other people's feelings, and sometimes might be susceptible to the more gentler lies.

It takes a lot to get him even slightly pissed off, but sometimes he'll take some things too personally. You'll notice because although he still has that nice exterior, you can still feel the coldness underneath the mask.

He always looks for the best in people, and is incredibly accepting, but other times, he can needlessly hate. However, he tends to hold grudges for forever.

3) Are you Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!)

Half-Blood

4) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have one as your first two characters!)

None

5) What is your character's profession? Does your character plan to enroll your character into the Ministry of Magic? Does your character not work? Is your character a teacher?

He is currently working as a dancer

6) Describe your character's marital status. Is your character single or married? What is the spouse's name? Any kids?

Single

7) What about your character's appearance? What do they look like? Feel free to write down what they look like! If you're using any FC, you can put a picture here! Please state the character's faceclaim!

Tae-Yang stands at 178 cm, and is lean due to his profession as a dancer. He has light skin and eyes that turn into crescents when he smiles. Don't get me started on his smile, because it's simply the cutest thing ever. He's modeled by Kwon Soon-Young, aka Hoshi of Seventeen.

"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."
