The Open-Ended Questions

A. Please answer the following questions as elaborately as possible. (Remember, this part doesn't have to be filled out if it's an expansion character!)

1) What would you consider to be your character's strengths, and your character's weaknesses? Elaborate on your answer.

+ sunny, reliant, trustful, sweet
- takes her job too seriously, workaholic

2) Has your character's life played out the way they wanted? Have they achieved the goals they set out for their life? Why, or why not?

Her life has played out the way she planned, yes. Though she's faced some bumps down the road, so far everything is going her way. She has a steady job as an American ICW rep and has her own place, so really - she's going quite good. She's aiding her country somehow, and that's all she wants to do.

3) What's their ideal way of spending a free day? Why so?

Reece likes to work and serve her country, hence why she doesn't mind all the work her job leaves her with. It might mean no free days, but the rare one is the kind she spends with her siblings, likely having apparated to some part of the country to get some sight-seeing done.

4) If your character could only keep 5 possessions, what would they be? Why?

Everything she'd keep would be for sentimental values, but most notably her photo albums that feature her entire adoptive family. She'd keep her wand and any means to protect herself and her family close her, too, along with her favorite pair of sunglasses and probably the essential for survival, if she happens to be careful enough.

5) What one thing would your character change about the wizarding society? Why?

There's honestly so much wrong with the justice system right now, she wants to fix it all but recognizes it'll be a long and arduous process, especially at a global level.

The Character's Background

1) Give a history of your character. History must be at least two paragraphs long. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)

The Everett family has always been heavily involved with the lines of justice. Andrew Everett was employed as auror right after his graduation until his ultimate demise with his wife, Moira Everett. Their three biological children (Ryder, Oliver & Autumn) currently work as aurors, meanwhile the adopted daughter – Reece – is one of the two representatives of the United States of America in the International Conference for Wizards. The entire line of Everetts have always been prominent throughout American Wizarding Society since their arrival in the 1830s to aid in the hunt against Florian Greyback and other notorious criminals that have fled the European scenery in favor of spreading the fear and power of their name.
Reece Everett isn’t an Everett by birth, but it’s like she was supposed to be. As a young girl, she’s always sought to end the troubles that plague her country. Even in elementary school she was always fighting the fights of other kids, defending classmates from bullies and yelling back whenever someone she cared for was verbally slammed. She got into trouble a lot for it and likely would have been labelled a problematic kid, if not for her great grades and sweet, bubbly personality. You’d have expected her to be a little more subdued and bitter, what with her being adopted, but the circumstances surrounding their deaths were one that Reece had made peace with a long time ago. They were in a bus with all her family, immediate and extended alike, she still remembers, when a truck drove right into them, speeding past a red light. Unfortunately, Reece was the only survivor, not counting her comatose cousin.
She was seven when she was adopted, undergoing an entire year on her own in the orphanage. If the decision had been in Andrew and Moira's decision, it'd have not taken that long, but Reece had undergone a trauma and needed to learn to trust again. It wasn't easy, but it also wasn't hard to the point Reece couldn't get over herself. She was young, she had a long life ahead of her, and she obviously still had people that cared a lot about her, one way or another. That love that was demonstrated to her was returned, and that's how Reece found herself with a new family. It was a new start, and she took it gladly. The change was a drastic one, from Minnesota to New York, but she adjusted quickly and swiftly. She had three siblings now: Oliver, Ryder & Autumn. Each were 9, 6 & 3 years older than her respectively.
Reece's first year in school in New York wasn't exactly the smoothest. She got into six different fights, and got into detention at least twice that. It was all issues regarding her inability to stay quiet and step aside whenever a bully was messing with another kid. Much like her older siblings, Reece wasn't someone who took to these kinds of issues lightly. She had - and still has - a strong moral code. She stands up for what she believes in and all those times weren't exceptions. One of those times, as a matter of fact, she presented her first (and only) sign of magic pre-Ilvermorny: she gave a bully a wedgie and the wave of an accusatory finger. Her classmates were there and saw the whole thing, and they knew she hadn't even touched the kid. That's why from that moment on, nobody broke the rules where it involved Reece Everett. She might be a tattler, and consequently a pain in the ass, but she was someone that gave another kid a wedgie by waving a finger. It might be cool, but it was also freaky. So they just avoided her altogether and kept to themselves if they could.
For all Moira and Andrew knew, Reece was a no-maj. They hadn't anticipated her to be a witch. Imagine their surprise when they received a call and accusations of their new kid being a freak. It meant changing Reece from schools, and up until she began education at Ilvermorny, she stayed there. She had friends, sure, but Reece was bright and bubbly and everything her classmates found overbearing. Reece was the epitome of sunshine, overcoming quite literally anything that was thrown her way. Attending Ilvermorny didn't change that. She was an excellent student who received perfect scores in all her final grade exams, was the female representative for Horned Serpent in the last three years of her schooling, and was even Female Speaker in her last year there. Reece was everything your typical student who aspired to be something in the future wanted to be. She was, by definition, a successful girl, and that translated into her life post-graduation. She was hired right off the bat as a PA to the Secretary of State. At the age of 19, she found herself a job in the IMOL and by the age of 22, she got a job as an ICW representative for the United States of America. It's a big job, and she's new to it, but one thing is for sure: she isn't anything less than qualified.

2) Give a description of your character's personality. Personality must be at least one paragraph long. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or humble? (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

If she'd attended Hogwarts, she'd definitely be a Hufflepuff. Reece cares deeply about her family first and foremost, and wants to be loved/think of loved ones rather than any sort of greater scheme or accomplishment. While she values her work and respects those who work with her, her family is infinitely more important to her and always will be. Reece is unafraid of toil; she not afraid of some work, be it school, a job, or anything else. She always does her best to get the best result. Like you'd anticipate, Reece is loyal and just, thoughtful and kind. She values honesty a lot, too, and it's not just because she's a bad lair; she sincerely believes in the truth, no matter what it might cost.
Curiously enough, Reece is also defined by the thirst of knowledge and the wide-ranging curiosity of hers. She will always seek knowledge; she wants to know the why of everything. She likes to think that to some extent, that's why she's so good at her job. The unknown attracts Reece, even if she has a slight preference towards practicality and what she knows to be true. She's also a very conflict-averse person; she tends to avoid conflict whenever possible, seeking creative solutions to avoid a fight. In part, it also contributes to why she's kind of very good at her job. She very much so relies on her wits more than her wand. Known for her creativity and individualism, she's very open-minded, too. Not only in the tolerant side of things, but rather when it comes to new ideas, as wild as they might be.

3) Are you Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!)

Unknown (muggle-born)

4) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have one as your first two characters!)

She has no special magical abilities.

5) What is your character's profession? Does your character plan to enroll your character into the Ministry of Magic? Does your character not work? Is your character a teacher?

She's an ICW rep for the USA.

6) Describe your character's marital status. Is your character single or married? What is the spouse's name? Any kids?

She's single and has no kids.

7) What about your character's appearance? What do they look like? Feel free to write down what they look like! If you're using any FC, you can put a picture here! Please state the character's faceclaim!

OOC Questions

C. These do not affect what house you're sorted to, but everybody must answer them!

1) Is this your first character?

A. This is my first character.
B. No, this is not my first character.

2) If your answer to the previous question is B, how many characters do you have? How many of them are "exotic" (of a different magical race/have a special ability)?

5/1

MoM Reece Everett has been registered as a citizen by the British Ministry of Magic!

"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."

I'm the patron saint of your demise. Devil
