The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or Humble? Anything about your character that might help the Sorting Hat decide. (Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

Peregrine is a fun-loving, dedicated individual. She believes in doing something right, no matter how hard it takes, or it isn’t worth doing. She wants success in the tasks she cares about, and sometimes acts nonchalant about her relationships with others but if forced to choose, would always choose her friends. She is moderately smart, A’s and B’s, mainly due to her dedication. She likes to go her own way sometimes, but will eventually return. Finally, she is a bit of a dreamer, going into her own imagination.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)

Peregrine Shaeler lived a relatively normal life, for a wizard. Her parentage was a Muggleborn and a Half-blood, both taught her to be dedicated. However, she was a bit of an outsider in her muggle classroom, as she was a witch, and they were muggles. One particular young memory involved her anger at a perceived injustice (namely, some ‘idiots’ teasing a friend) caused her magic to go haywire leaving a very confused boy ending up in a toilet stall. Rather then making her friend closer to her, it scared him off, leaving her almost alone. She decided to ignore this and focus on learning as much as she could. She particularly took to math, and was upset they didn’t teach it at Hogwarts.

While Peregrine had been doing magfic before, that had been the first 'big' incident. Her parents were extremely happy about her magic, being witch and wizard themselves. Dispite being upset over the loss of her friend, the knowledge she could do magic like her parents was very exciting to her. Nothing really changed though for her home life, besides some warnings to be careful with utilizing her new-found power.

As Peregrine grew up, she managed to have a bit more control over her magic, she managed to make new friends, even regaining the friendship of her former friend, growing close to him. She regrets not being allowed to talk about magic, but never let that stop her, using her imagination to spin tales to tell to her friends. When Peregrine first got the letter, it wasn’t unexpected, though still a great pleasure. She was very excited to go off to Hogwarts, though she was a bit worried about leaving her parents and friends behind.

3) Write about your character's appearance. What do they look like? Are you planning on using a certain model for your character? If you already have a picture in mind, you can put it here! Peregrine has redish-brownish hair long, which she usually leaves down. She wears glasses, but can still kind of see without them. She has pale skin, which burns, not tans, in the sunlight. She isn’t the skinniest rod in the drawer, but isn’t exactly fat. Her face is covered in freckles, especially in the summer months.

4) Is your character a Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!) Peregrine is a half-blood witch. She doesn’t have much interest in her family, and doesn’t know of any important family members.

5) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have a character with special abilities/of a different magical race as one of your first two characters!)

No 6) What year is your character in? 1st

OOC Questions

C. These do not affect what house you're sorted to, but everybody must answer them!

1) Is this your first character?

A. This is my first character.
B. No, this is not my first character.

2) If your answer to the previous question is B, how many characters do you have? How many of them are "exotic" (of a different magical race/have a special ability)?

Hello, and welcome to DARP! I'm Jaye, Head of Sorting & Stores, and I'll be looking at your forum today! Alright, so, from what I see, there's nothing wrong with your forum so much as missing information essential for the history.

  • How did she react to being a witch?
    • Did she know her parents were magic before her first time?
  • How did her parents react?
  • How did her day-to-day life and relationship with her family change because of the magic?

Please address these things as soon as you can, so I can happily sort Peregrine into a house! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page or anyone on the administration team!

What do you mean by "While Peregrine had been doing magfic before, that had been the first 'big' incident."?
- jayemalik'
I mean, she knew she could do magic, but she never has explicitly done it in front of no-majs.
