The Open-Ended Questions

A. Please answer the following questions as elaborately as possible. (Remember, this part is only a requirement for your third to fifteenth character! However, if you want to have more input on where you character is sorted, then please answer #6!)

1) What would you consider to be your character's strengths, and your character's weaknesses? Elaborate on your answer.

His greatest strength is his love for his family, he'd do anything for them. His greatest weakness is that he's got his head in the clouds a lot of the time.

2) What goals and objectives has your character set out in their life? Is it to be successful and rich? Is it to find happiness? Why?

He just wants a nice simple happy life. Like, white picket fence et al.

3) What's their ideal way of spending a free day? Why so?

Watching classic films from the 80s. Ferries Bueller's day off, the breakfast club, Heathers. You know.

4) If your character could only keep 5 possessions, what would they be? Why?

His copy of the communist manifesto, for sure. A drawing Kell did of the family when he was really young. Some old films he holds close. His CD with hits from the 2000s.

5) What one thing would your character change about the wizarding society? Why? HE WOULD CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE ONE PERCENT CONTROL THE OTHER 99% AND WOULD ARGUE THAT REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH IS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION OK BYE.

6) What house does your character want to be in? What house does your character not want to be in? Why? He wants to be in Gryffindor because Harry Potter was in gryffindor and that was #iconic.

The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or Humble? Anything about your character that might help the Sorting Hat decide. (Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

Magnus is introverted, but also extroverted. He prefers to be alone, watching an old film or something on his own, but that doesn't mean he'll shy away from company if anyone asks. When he's out with friends he does come alive, but that doesn't mean he doesn't miss being left to his own devices. Because of his obsession with old muggle films and TV shows, he's got a very cheesy sense of humour. Like, he will make stupid puns and jokes to no end.

Magnus is also a hopeless romantic. His parents reckon it's all the old movies he used to watch. He wants everyone he knows to have their own Hollywood ending, riding off into the sunset. Cheesy, no? Bless. He can't help it though, it's just in his nature. Because his head's always in the clouds, he still doesn't know what he wants to do with his life, and if you ask him what he want's to be when he graduates, I promise you, he'll respond with 'happy'. I wasn't kidding about him being cheesy.

Magnus has some big ideals that he believes in. He's really into politics, and he can and will talk for hours about how capitalism funds the bourgeoisie and feeds off the proletariat class, much to the irritation of his siblings. But he's not joking #StayWoke.

Out of his siblings, he's closest and most protective of Kell. Kell will always be his baby brother, and since he was born, he's been looking out for him specifically. He and Kell will do everything together. Like, everything, and he wants Kell to know he's always gonna be there for him. (cheesy, no?)

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)

The Larsen family were a long line of Norwegian pure-bloods, one of the typical anti-muggle pro-purity lines who looked down on those lacking in magic. They had a son, Kristoffer, who happened to be a squib. So, at the age of ten, when they'd lost all hope of him showing magical ability, they sent him off to an orphanage and told everyone outside the family he'd caught dragon pox and perished.

In reality, the boy thrived, adopted by a well-to-do couple in England at age twelve - one of whom was a squib herself - and receiving high-calibre education in Eton and Oxford. Eventually he met the very pretty, very magically adept Viola Macmillan, a recent Hufflepuff alumna.

They married the next year, a few months before Viola inherited ownership of her parents' popular sweetshop, and eventually went on to have three children. The eldest, Magnus, spent a lot of his time alone, watching cheesy romance films or kitchy and camp comedies, thus resulting in a corny, cheesy sense of humour.

Magnus' first sign of magic was when he was about six, and he was playing with his brother, Kell, who would have been five, when he accidentally snapped Kell's toy. Kell started crying, and Magnus panicked. Before he knew what had happened, the toy had been fixed just like that, and Kell was happily going about his business playing with it.

Magnus' parents are slightly obsessed with him and his siblings living healthily, so while they're allowed as many sweets as they want, they have to make sure they do enough exercise that it doesn't affect them "negatively". Because of this stance of his parents', Magnus grew up playing Quidditch, taking part in athletics competitions and swimming clubs, not that he enjoyed any of it, and he tried to get out of it at any given opportunity.

At first, he attended Durmstrang with his siblings, as his father wanted him to "get in touch with his heritage" and have more of an opportunity to practise his Norwegian, which was limited. All was great there, and his Norwegian did in fact improve.

He's now ready and excited to finish his studies at Hogwarts.

3) Write about your character's appearance. What do they look like? Are you planning on using a certain model for your character? If you already have a picture in mind, you can put it here!

Magnus5

4) Is your character a Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!) pureblood

5) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have a character with special abilities/of a different magical race as one of your first two characters!) none

6) What year is your character in? 6
