The Open-Ended Questions

A. Please answer the following questions as elaborately as possible. (Remember, this part is only a requirement for your third to fifteenth character! However, if you want to have more input on where you character is sorted, then please answer #6!)

1) What would you consider to be your character's strengths, and your character's weaknesses? Elaborate on your answer.

+ loyal, witty, fearless
- attached, holds grudges, hard to change

2) What goals and objectives has your character set out in their life? Is it to be successful and rich? Is it to find happiness? Why?

First things first is to avenge her family; they were innocents murdered at the hands of criminals. Second, figure out how to just... get over it, but she probably never will. Third, find some happiness preferably without love k thnx

3) What's their ideal way of spending a free day? Why so?

Looking at old photos... and then making holes in walls or making a mess everywhere. It's just habit.

4) If your character could only keep 5 possessions, what would they be? Why?

  • Photos of her old family. They're the spark that fueled her fire.
  • Photos of her current family. Because they mean everything to her.
  • Her patchwork boxing gloves. For when she needs to blow off steam.
  • Tissue boxes. For the nights she cannot sleep.
  • Money. For the days that she roams aimlessly.

5) What one thing would your character change about the wizarding society? Why?

How... ineffective the aurors are. She never did get answers as to who killed her family... or why they did it. Or even if they were sentenced to life. She knows nothing. And she does not want anyone else to bear the same.

6) What house does your character want to be in? What house does your character not want to be in? Why?

Ravenclaw. (personally bc most of the Serpents are Slytherins and some outliers might be nice; also bc stereotype breakers oop)

The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or Humble? Anything about your character that might help the Sorting Hat decide. (Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)

Jenni is so damn smart, and she knows this. She naturally values what intelligence she has; she earned it after all. Sometimes actually intellectual things fascinate her, but it's merely a distraction from what goes on in her head. Physically, she's at one point of fascination; mentally, at a totally different one. She handles a divided focus with ease, and she'd think she's just lucky enough that she hears better than she sees. It often makes her wonder if it's because of what happened years ago.

Jenni knows that nothing will ever fix the fact that her real family is gone... but she struggles every single day to let it all go. She has a particular struggle with just forgetting things in general; it is more often than not a mixed blessing. It does mean that she is clingy to her memories and will often have trouble letting people go for doing something bad to her. Then again, she is clingy to a lot of things, and she hates that. She hates that, because she thinks that attachment is dangerous.

At her core, she is very soft and just wants to be loved. She yearns for love, for something to replace that hole in her heart. She realizes the world is imperfect and nothing ever goes the way someone wants it to, but she has faith that someday, some way she will find love and she'll never let it go. Her happiness flew away when she was young, but she knows it will come back. It has to. Because she needs happiness, even if it might not need her.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)

Jennica Molly Kempe. Jenni Kempe. This is her turn.

A silenced Jenni entered the world as the last one out of 4. Jenni was a darling little one; and she never did have much a difference between her siblings, having merely a year after her older brother. Her two mothers loved her to the end of the earth and then some. And little Jenni loved them too. But her love... oh it was a dangerous thing. For an older Jenni would come to learn the hard way what love means.

Life in the family was anything but lame. Jenni was quite the active little one; constantly thirsting for a little attention and a little love. Of course, she got just enough, as to not let her be spoiled. As if spoiling Jenni was ever possible; she always wanted what her siblings did, so it was a win-win anyway. She wasn't one to complain about not having enough; young Jenni was happy to make do with whatever she had.

Her family was everything Jenni could want, but even they had a darker side. One of her mothers was related by blood to a crime boss... who went missing following a massive ransack of another criminal gang's terrain. He naturally vanished because it was habitual... but also because people would have come find him to get even. Of course, he never accounted for the fact that some would be happy to go to extremes to get even... which this lot were certainly willing to. Insiders lead the enraged gang to his sister - Jenni's mother. When they ran out of searching options... they went there alright. They sent death threats to Jenni's family if they do not answer where Jenni's uncle (the crime boss) was. The two mothers knew that they weren't safe anymore; the kids knew no better. Jenni included.

The family quietly moved out elsewhere, where they thought they'd be safe. They were wrong. They underestimated just how far certain people would be willing to go for answers and revenge. This lot were exactly that; they were not going to sit around and pretend nothing happened. Their territory was ransacked and someone had to pay. They sent one last message to Jenni's family; give them the answer they want to hear or it will be their last. The family never answered.

In the dark of night, a loud thrashing was heard... followed by screaming and lights. Jenni was raised out of bed, and out of fear, she ducked under her bed. By the time everything stopped... everyone was no longer among the living. They were either gone... or dead. Only Jenni had lived and by luck at that. Shaken is putting Jenni's next thoughts mildly. She couldn't believe her eyes. Everything felt like a lie.

Jenni was traumatized to put it short, and she was placed in an orphanage in hopes to find a new family for her. But young Jenni never managed to get over the memory; she rejected adoption, time and again. Not out of no reason, but out of the love she had for her biological family. She did not want to believe that they were dead, no no; she thought it was all a bad dream. But it was real. And when Jenni finally accepted that they were not coming back... she probably lost much sleep and many nights. She was hurting, she was upset... she was angered. She never knew at first, but the loss of her family hit her harder than a meteor strike.

It all came to be when Jenni was 7, the emotion within her exploded after one of the other orphans wanted to play with Jenni. Jenni sent the orphan's toy across the room... hard. It almost left a dent in the wall. Scared would be putting it lightly; frightened is the better choice. Jenni did not know why she did that, but insisted that she did not even touch the toy. No one took her seriously though, and she was punished no less. Someone else took notice, however, and saw that Jenni was moved out of one orphanage into another... a magical orphanage.

Jenni never changed though. It never changed that she had a hole in the shape of her family in her heart. And there was nothing that will ever fill it. At some point further down the line... she did get adopted, but settling in was difficult. Her new family was not the one she knew and loved, and it made for some rough nights and rough days. She eventually warmed up some, but she could never let them in completely.

With her coming of age, she had began schooling in Durmstrang, but that in itself was rocky. Jenni quickly enough found herself hiding in the back of the classroom, listening while not really giving a damn what anyone had to say. When asked, she was hardly wrong; she was amazingly good at giving her attention just enough to be able to act otherwise. It did save her much ado about nothing but it did keep her classmates guessing her. Few even wanted to approach her, fewer yet to speak with her.

Her brilliance had her mind distracted for a time. But lousy nights back home always saw her become more and more detached from the world and sometimes she hardly ever thinks well. Consequently, she became more inclined on the little things she did not have... and the things she'd do to never look back. She turned to pickpocketing particular people, more so the ones whom were complete a-holes and/or entitled. Durmstrang was full of them, so she never had any particular issue with that. But it is one thing to get away; it's another when you get caught. She did get caught. A few times. But not before she knocked some heads first. It did have people wondering why she was so smart, yet so willing to fight.

In time though, she might have drifted within a point where she'd have crossed a line... but her adoptive family decided to move out to England, so she was spared the guilt of getting kicked out of school. She transferred to Hogwarts, and got sorted into (tbd). But then, it was only a matter of time before she slipped into old habits again...

3) Write about your character's appearance. What do they look like? Are you planning on using a certain model for your character? If you already have a picture in mind, you can put it here!

Her model is Vanessa Morgan.

4) Is your character a Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!)

Half-Blood, with no relations.

5) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have a character with special abilities/of a different magical race as one of your first two characters!)

Nothing special.

6) What year is your character in?

Fifth Year.
