The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. It must be at least two paragraphs long, seven sentences each. Ivy has two sides to her. The one where she's fearless, and angry at the world, and a little nihilstic, and the side where she's too caring. Where her heart is too big. the abused, hurt little girl who was rejected by her family, like that elephant that got stepped on by their mother.

on one hand, she's still a Carrow. She's prideful, and beautifully so. She prides herself on being nothing like her blood relatives. Instead of being a blood purist, she openly accepts everyone. Instead of being a haughty, self-righteous douche, she's humble, and quiet. But she's still proud. Ivy aims to make a better world, and a better branch of the Carrow family. But having that blood in her veins, also makes sure she is incredibly vindictive. She is not a saint. She's doing all of the things she does for one sole reason; The Carrows. Despite also inheriting manipulation, Ivy doesn't use that to her own advantage, but rather for others.

Then, there's the other side of Ivy. The one that is just a scared little girl. An upset child who was abandoned by her family because she was born wrong... But sure, what do they know. Ivy had been abused for 6+ years because she was a freakshow to her own family, and the Hospital was her saving grace. But She still suffers from it, though. Ivy is afraid to trust other people, and she's overly protective of any of the wards in the hospital; Her Real family. Ivy is Loyal, to the death, to people she deems deserving.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? It must be at least three paragraphs long, seven sentences each.

Ivy Karina Carrow was born to one of the Sacred 28 families. But for some of her life, their name is irrelevant. They weren't Ivy's family until she started Hogwarts. What IS necessary is to explain how her life was. When she was born, everything as blissfully normal. She was the youngest of several children. Then they noticed something wrong-- At first they thought it was a large pain threshold, but they eventually noticed that Ivy didn't respond to any pain at all.

The first of it showed when her parents found her playing on the floor in the morning one time. Her arm was limp, was Ivy was playing with her Barbies happily, as if nothing was wrong. They got the arm splinted, and it healed fine. But that wasn't all. There was also the time her eldest brother slammed his bedroom door on her face., and her finger got caught. They heard it. They saw the blood. But Ivy stared at it as if nothing were wrong, even laughing at it a little. When they asked the two year old if it hurt, she just simply said "No."

Eventually, they realised the wizard healers couldn't tell her what was wrong... But the Muggle doctors could, as suggested to them by one of the healers - Ambrose Valois-Summers. They went to a Muggle doctor, though reluctantly, and they diagnosed her with Congenital Insensitivty to Pain with Anhidrosis. It only then occured to them that they had NEVER seen Ivy cry. Not once.

The problem is; CIPA is a Muggle defect. How does a wizard get one of those? She was born with it? that was nonsense. Nothing was wrong with her parents! Eventually, the parents grew to look at her distastefully; She was a disappointment. A disgusting thing. So, when her brothers began to push just how much insensitivity she had to pain... They looked the other way.

When she was thrown out of a second story window when she was five; Nothing. She was sent to Ambrose, and sent back home. Same thing when she was caught in a small fire when she was 7, having only gotten a clue once she actually smelled the smoke. She managed to get out with a minimal amount of injuries... But her left leg was swallowed by the fire, leaving scars.

By the age of 8, she was in and out of the hospital at least 4 times a year-- Not to mention she had shown signs of abuse. So, it wasn't long until the nurses and healers had called in the Aurors to investigate.... The worst part is that the Carrow family didn't really fight for Ivy anyways.

It took a bit to convince Ivy to come with them. They explained that she'd be a ward of the state. This also included a sudden shock to the first Auror that dared touch Ivy. She may have been a disappointment, but she was still a Carrow. How dare they lay their hands on her! Despite the first sign of magic, confirmed by her parents and siblings, Ivy eventually was taken away.

Ivy hasn't seen her parents since. She was also sent to St. Mungo's, insisting that she needed constant care and monitoring. At teh age of 9, she was constantly monitered at St. Mungos, but when she showed her first sign of magic, a room cleaning itself up before her eyes, Ivy's family claimed ownership of her again.
