The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. It must be at least two paragraphs long, seven sentences each.

Francisco is the definition of an eleven year old. Confused, hormonal, dramatic and prone to a lot of mood swings. Francisco is known to sulk when something doesn't go his way, even when it's unjustified. However, he gets over it quickly and shrugs off whatever happened. Most of the time, though, Francisco is laid back and often takes everything happening around him in his stride, even when he doesn't completely understand what's going on. Francisco's values pretty much two things: pop culture and looking cool. Francisco often acts tougher than he is, even when something affects him emotionally (such as the idea of heading into Hogwarts alone without his twin sister), and likes to pretend it doesn't really affect him that much.

Francisco is always making stupid jokes. A comedian, he always tries to make people laugh or just act like a goof every chance he gets. He wants to be liked by the people around him. He doesn't have to be popular, but he doesn't want to be isolated either. So he tries humour. Francisco likes to think he's better than he actually is, particularly with magic. He's not that good in class but he tries his hardest. Francisco can be quite caring when he needs to be and is very open and inclusive. Why wouldn't he be? He just wants to fit in. Francisco has a strong sense of a moral core, though, and despises bullies, especially blood purists. Francisco, though, often chews off more than he can chew though. Francisco is an active child and often likes to spend his time on his skateboard (which he smuggled into Hogwarts) and is excited about the upcoming games of quidditch.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? It must be at least three paragraphs long, seven sentences each.

Florencia and Francisco Flores' story begins with a philanthropist; Estella Suárez. Originating from Puerto Rico, Estella was born into a family who'd amassed incredible wealth through her father's plethora of successful books and screenplays. It had enabled him to move his family from the island and into mainland America. For the first ten or so years of Estella's life, she lived in New York, in an apartment just off Central Park. To most people, this was the ideal life. However, when she was eighteen, she moved back to Puerto Rico, finding New York too shallow, too fast-pased for her enjoyment. She wanted to help people, provide for them, and she believed she would be more use back home than in New York. By twenty years old, Estalla Suárez had established one of the most successful charities in the Caribbean, which had begun to branch out to other surrounding areas by the time she was twenty two.

Come age twenty-four, Estella was mid-road trip with her sister (who unsurprisingly took the role of 'best friend', too). It wasn't supposed to become as drawn-out as it did, but her sister just had to insist on stopping at the 02 to visit her favorite artist. Estella wasn't one to care for music, and struggled to find the appeal to him as an artist. Nonetheless, she accompanied her sister, knowing she'd hurt her feelings if she didn't. They were right in the front row, much to Estella's chagrin. This was enough to catch the eye of the artist himself: Ignacio Flores, or as he artistically went by, Flores. It wasn't an unsurprising fact; both were attractive. That, and Estella's sister ended up passing out mid-show out of dehydration. (Estella had warned her camping out a whole day in front of the arena wasn't worth it.) Out of concern for both her well-being and potential lawsuits (regardless of whether or not they could be mitigated), he invited them backstage.

Initially, they didn't get along very well; it took a while for them to warm up to each other, but once they did, they became nothing short of a power couple. He was a world star, she was a successful businesswoman. They did wonders on each other's images. His plethora of fans took to her charities well and became one of her biggest donors, whereas committing to such a powerful woman eased his 'manwhore' image. They dated for just over a year, and come Christmas of the following year, he proposed. It was a beautiful proposal, in a winter wonderland in Central Park. It was everything she could have hoped for. She readily accepted, and a year later, the 26th of December, they were wed. They didn't have their firstborn until the 22nd of December the year that followed, who was promptly followed by another boy two years later, on the 27th. He was followed a year later by another boy, born just shy of the New Year on December 30. Their last children, twins Francisco and Florencia, were born two years later, on the 13th of December. Clearly, Christmastime was a busy period for the growing family.

Truth be told, there was no better place to raise the kids in than Puerto Rico. Both Estella & Ignacio had Puerto Rican roots, so making that decision was among the easiest they ever made. Furthermore, Ignacio did want them to be able to connect with England - where his own maternal family was from. They reached a compromise quite quickly, deciding every winter break, from mid-December to mid-January, would be spent in England. They had a vacation home there, so all in all, everything worked out.

Francisco was six years old when he made his yorkshire pudding melt. English cuisine was the dullest food he had ever tasted and he hated it. Francisco would find himself begging his mother to cook him something normal and tasty. Not that bland food his grandmother would make. But it was enough to get him into Hogwarts. His father soon talked to him privately, telling him about his secret. That Ignacio was a wizard and that he attended a magical school, a place that Francisco would attend eventually. His father swore Francisco to secrecy. As much as Francisco wanted to rub it into his sister's face, he agreed to keep his mouth shut out of simple adoration for his father. Five years later, he was on the train to Hogwarts where his older brother had already been sent. Of course, as cool as Francisco was, he didn't dare admit that he was rather terrified of heading into Hogwarts without his twin sister. As a pain in the butt as she was, they'd never been separated from one another. So he was secretly glad when he got the letter to say that his sister was going to be joining him late into the semester.
