Class GLEs Part Three

A recent vote has just been passed in favor of an amendment to the current system of schooling. We are introducing these new things called G.L.E.s (General Learning Expectations). However, so that we are able to keep things fair, we need the "Wizengamot" (those twelve people know who they are, hopefully). So, here goes. The G.L.E.s will be split by class and voted on separately.

ANIMAGI TRAINING[]

- Stage 1:
GLE 1. Students are to learn what their animagi form is, and understand why that is their form, and why someone cannot have multiple forms.
GLE 2. Students are to be able to do independent research on their animal form.
GLE 3. Students are to be able to write an essay giving all the vital information (the scientific name, the conservation status, the origin of the species, their physical description, their behavior, how it reproduces, its diet, its sleeping patterns, its body language, and its enemies).
- Stage 2:
GLE 1. Students should be able to transfigure parts of their body into the form of their animagi form. (Note:No full transformations, as if you transfigure yourself completely into an animal, you're mind also transforms, and you cannot transfigure yourself back)
GLE 2. Students are to be able to tell the difference between an animagi, a werewolf and a transfigured person.
GLE 3. Students are to understand Wizarding Law regarding Animagus Transformations.
-Stage 3:
GLE 1. Students are to be able to fully transform into their animagi form.
GLE 2. Students are to be taught when and where it's appropriate to transform, and when it's not.
GLE 3. Students are to register themselves on the Ministry Animagi Registry.

APPARITION[]

- Stage 1:
GLE 1. Students will know the theory behind Apparition, and how it works.
GLE 2. Students will know the three D's of Apparition: Destination, Determination, and Deliberation.
GLE 3. Students will be able to Apparate across the room without splinching themselves.

CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES[]

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Flobberworms
GLE 2. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Salamanders
GLE 3. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Hippogriffs
GLE 4. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Porlock
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Manticores
GLE 2. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Fire crabs
GLE 3. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Nifflers
GLE 4. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Unicorns
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Thestrals
GLE 2. Students know the magical abilities and significance of: Bowtruckles

-Sixth Years:

-Seventh Years:

Note:It is understood that in the case of some of the creatures in the 6th and 7th Years, it will be hard to procure an actual specimen for the class. The Ministry will assist when it can, but actual creatures may not be able to be studied.

DIVINATION[]

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students will understand what Divination is and its limits.
GLE 2. Students will learn what Crystal Gazing is and how to do it.
GLE 3. Students will learn how to read tea leaves, and what they mean.
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn to read palms, and what the different lines mean.
GLE 2. Students will learn about other methods of Divination such as Fire-omens, Heptomology, Ornithomancy, Ovomancy and Xylomancy.
GLE 3. Students will be able to write an essay about what these other methods are, and how they differ from more standard methods.
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn about Dream Interpretation, and how to interpret dreams.
GLE 2. Students will learn to keep a dream calendar, and remember their dreams.
GLE 3. Students will learn what Legilimency and Occlemency are, and how they relate to dreams.
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn about Astrology and how to determine the future through the movements of the planets.
GLE 2. Students will learn how Centaurs read the future by star gazing.
GLE 3.
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn Cartomancy and to use and read a Tarot card deck.
GLE 2. Students will learn about true prophecies and the Hall of Prophecy at the Ministry.
GLE 3. Students will be able to predict something given any of the above methods.

Healing[]

-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn basic healing spells, such as Episky and Anapneo.
GLE 2. Students will learn about basic diseases, such as Dragon Pox.
GLE 3. Students will learn about basic healing potions, such as Blood-Replenishing Potions.
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn intermediate healing spells, such as Brackium Emendo and Reparifors.
GLE 2. Students will learn about intermediate diseases, such as Vanishing Sickness.
GLE 3. Students will learn about intermediate healing potions, such as the Mandrake Restorative Draught.
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students will learn advanced healing spells, such as Vulnera Sanentur and Reparifors.
GLE 2. Students will learn about healing the mind using Legilimency.
GLE 3. Students will learn about St. Mungo's and other uncured or dangerous ailments.

WANDLORE[]

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students are to know the different parameters of a wand, and why they are important (Wood, Core, Length, Rigidity).
GLE 2. Students are to understand a few known cores and wand woods, and their properties.
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students are to learn about important historical wands.
GLE 2. Students are to understand some known cores and wand woods, and their properties.
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students are to learn about how wands change masters, and how this differs depending on the wand material.
GLE 2. Students are to understand most known cores and wand woods, and their properties.
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Students are to understand the Subtle Laws of Wands.
GLE 2. Students are to understand all known cores and wand woods, and their properties.
GLE 3. Students are to be able to practice wand creation from provided materials. (It's understood it may not work, but it's to show they can do it).
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students are to understand Wand Relations, and effects.
GLE 2. Students are to research new wand cores or woods, and their properties and combinations.
GLE 3. Students are to be able to create a wand from provided materials.(It's understood it may not be as powerful as a normal wand, but it's to show they can do it).
