Class GLEs Part Four

A recent vote has just been passed in favor of an amendment to the current system of schooling. We are introducing these new things called G.L.E.s (General Learning Expectations). However, so that we are able to keep things fair, we need the "Wizengamot" (those twelve people know who they are, hopefully). So, here goes. The G.L.E.s will be split by class and voted on separately.

ALCHEMY

- Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students understand the belief of everything being created out of the four elements (water, air, earth, and fire).

GLE 2. Students are able to identify the four elements with astrological signs

GLE 3. Students are able to identify the attributes associated with each element
GLE 4. Students are able to write essays on the said topics.
GLE5. Students are able to draw the symbol for each element


- Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Students are able to understand the Three Main Purposes of Alchemy
GLE 2. Students can clearly explain the reasons why alchemist would go to so much trouble to try and create these three things.
GLE 3. Students are capable of explaining different techniques used by alchemists to try and achieve these goals.
GLE 4. Students are able to write essays on the said topics.
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students are capable of the independent study of alchemists throughout the ages.
GLE 2. Students are able to write essays on the different aspects of the alchemist's, that they chose, life.
GLE 3. Students are capable of presenting an oral report about the alchemist they studied.

ARITHMANCY

-Third and Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students understand what Arithmancy is
GLE 2. Students know the basic methods of Arithmancy
GLE 3. Students are able to apply the methods learned in class to their own names
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students are able to recall the information from previous years
GLE 2. Students know what the Agrippan Method is
GLE 3. Students are able to write essays about the Aggripan Method and methods from years past
-Sixth and Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students understand what the Chaldean method is
GLE 2. Student are able to write insightful essays about this method
GLE 3. Students are able to apply this method to a practical divinatory session

  • Note: Some of the classes in this section have been grouped. There are two reasons. One being that I was following the set up of the page, and the other being that (having to go off of the first comment to build a basic curriculum, two of the years were studying the same thing so I grouped them.

GHOUL STUDIES

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students are able to write essays on the said topics.
GLE 2. Describe the Characteristics of a Ghost
GLE 3. Describe the grounds for becoming a Ghost
GLE 4. Write essays on why only certain people can become Ghosts
GLE 5. Know the wand movement and incantation to clear Ghost Ectoplasm
GLE 6. Describe the difference between Ghosts, Ghouls and Poltergeists
GLE 7. Know and give reasons for the Ministry Classification of Ghouls
GLE 8. Describe the difference between Ghouls and Chameleon Ghouls
GLE 9. Write Essays or Case Studies on a Famous Poltergeist
GLE 10. Describe the Characteristics of a Poltergeist
GLE 11. Describe the Characteristics fo a Ghoul
GLE 12. Evaluate the work of the Ghoul Task Force
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Describe an Out-of-Body Experience
GLE 2. Be able to describe a Numinous
GLE 3. Compare and Contrast Out-of-Body Experiences and Numinous'
GLE 4. Be able to suggest what influences an Out-of-Body Experience
GLE 5. Be able to describe what Possession is
GLE 6. List the signs of someone being Possessed
GLE 7. Know why and how a person can become Possessed
GLE 8. Know how to cure someone who has been Possessed
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Be able to name Magical Symbols such as Pentagrams
GLE 2. Be able to draw and annotate a Pentagram and a Pentacle
GLE 3. Know the significance of Magical Symbols
GLE 4. Describe how to summon a spirit with a Ouija Board
GLE 5. Understand the concept, purpose and structure of Seances
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Write essays about Ghouls and Entities in Mythology.
GLE 2. Be able to write a Case Study on a Genie from Mythology
GLE 3. Be able to write a Case Study on a Shaitaan from Mythology
GLE 4. Be able to write a Case Study on a Kodama from Mythology
GLE 5. Be able to describe Elementals and their powers
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Write a senior thesis on Ghouls, Ghosts and Poltergeists
GLE 2. Write a senior thesis on Possession and out-of-body experiences
GLE 3. Write a senior thesis on magical symbols and seances
GLE 4. Write a senior thesis on Ghouls and Entities in Mythology
GLE 5. Write a senior thesis on Magical jurisdiction and Ghouls


MYTHOLOGY

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students know the basic Gods/Goddesses of Greek Mythology
GLE 2. Students know what said Gods/Goddesses are connected to in nature
GLE 3. Students are able to write essays about the said topics
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students know the basic Gods/Goddesses of Roman Mythology
GLE 2. Students know what said Gods/Goddesses are connected to in nature
GLE 3. Students are able to write essays about the parallels of Greek and Roman Mythology
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students understand the basic principles of Chinese mythology
GLE 2. Students know what the Immortal Eight are
GLE 3. Students are able to write essays about the said topics
GLE 4. Students are able to take notes while being lectured
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1.Students know the basic Deities of Egyptian Mythology
GLE 2. Students know the different theories of Egyptian Myth
GLE 3. Students are capable of writing essays about the theories of Egyptian Myth and said Deities
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students are capable of doing independent research about an aspect of mythology that was not covered in the years past
GLE 2. Students are able to write insightful essays about said topics
GLE 3. Students are capable of presenting an oral report on their research topic


PINK MAGIC

-Third Years: GLE 1. Name Amortentia and define its properties
GLE 2. Define love potions, their effects and the properties of them
GLE 3. Be able to name Love Potion Pioneers such as the Weasley Twins
GLE 4. Be able to write essays on Love potions and their effects
-FourthYears: GLE 1. Describe the difference between Pygmy Puffs and Puffskeins
GLE 2. Describe differences between Wonderwitch products and Amortentia
GLE 3. Be able to describe, at length, the effects of Amortentia
GLE 4. Be able to describe, at length, the properties of Amortentia
-FifthYears: GLE 1. Be able to list the dangers of using Amortentia
GLE 2. Be able to list the dangers of using WonderWitch Products
GLE 3. Give insightful and detailed case studies on Laverne de Montmorency
GLE 4. Give insightful and detailed case studies on the Weasley Twins
-Sixth Years: GLE 1. Be able to name at least five WonderWitch Products
GLE 2. Give a description of the effects of Ten-Second Pimple Vanisher
GLE 3. Describe and explain Pygmy Puffs in popular culture

-SeventhYears:
GLE 1. Name the creator of the Original Beautification Potion
GLE 2. Describe the usage of Bubotuber pus in beautification
GLE 3. Describe the life and death of Sacharissa Tugwood
GLE 4. Name examples of people who used Beautification potions, e.g. Maladora Grymm


WIZARD ART

-Third Years:
GLE 1. Students thoroughly understand the different concepts of sketching and planning (contouring, focus, shading, etc.).
GLE 2. Students are proficient in planning and rough-drafting for realistic self-portraits and produce a final copy of a realistic self-portrait. These portraits are later Charmed to become the common moving pictures of the Wizard world.
GLE 3. Students create a color-changing, abstract painting in the style of impressionist Claude Monet.
GLE 4. Students weave small tapestries depicting a memorable event in Wizarding history.
-Fourth Years:
GLE 1. Students create clay sculptures of animals and bewitch them to speak simple sentences.
GLE 2. Students study and create an essay on a famous wizard artist who was also known in the Muggle world.
GLE 3. A series of sketching assignments are assigned.
-Fifth Years:
GLE 1. Students create collages with pressed flowers with magical properties.
GLE 2. Sketch assignments are assigned.
GLE 3. Students choose 4 famous wizard paintings and/or sculptures, study them, and create a short story about journeying through all of these pieces as if walking through portals into new dimensions.
GLE 4. Students create a wood carving in the likeness of their favorite book character.
-Sixth Years:
GLE 1. Printmaking with wizard pictures is covered.
GLE 2. Triplet drawings are created with neutral, warm, and cool color schemes.
GLE 3. Students learn origami and enchant their creations to come alive.
GLE 4. Advanced color blending techniques are understood.
-Seventh Years:
GLE 1. Students take a childhood drawing of theirs and redo it with drawing techniques learned in class.
GLE 2. Essays are assigned about the history of wizard printmaking.
GLE 3. Basic cinematography is covered.
GLE 4. Final abstract watercolor painting assigned.

Well, I think they need editing but I can't think of what to else to put. Hmm. Anyway, I did't notice Sixth & Seventh years were doing the same things. My bad.
