1) What would you consider to be your character's strengths, and your character's weaknesses? Elaborate on your answer.
- Strengths – Loyal // Eccentric // Enabling

2) What goals and objectives has your character set out in their life? Is it to be successful and rich? Is it to find happiness? Why?
- To find love, happiness, experience, and friendship; to find her dad and some semblance of a functional family; to assist her best friend in any way that she can - to be successful in her own right, and not as her mother's daughter.
3) What's their ideal way of spending a free day? Why so?
- - With her best friend, of course, and maybe his twin if she’s so inclined. (Arielle finds her cute. Really cute.) It doesn’t matter where it is, to her, as long as he’s happy. His family don’t treat him well; so she should.
4) If your character could only keep 5 possessions, what would they be? Why?
- A picture of her, her mother, and her siblings.
- Her wand.
- Her broomstick.
- A photo album she made of her and her best friend, Peter's, first year.
- A bottle of Felix Felicis – tiny – that her father left for her. she’s saving it.
5) What one thing would your character change about the wizarding society? Why?
- The new-found attitude towards “exotics” she supposes; so those around her, and those like her, don't have to live in fear.
6) What house does your character want to be in? What house does your character not want to be in? Why?
- Gryffindor / Slytherin. She doesn't want to be in Slytherin because she's heard terrible things about Slytherin.

1) Give a description of your character's personality. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or Humble? Anything about your character that might help the Sorting Hat decide. (Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, personality must be at least one paragraph long for the first two characters, two paragraphs long for the third to eighth characters, and three paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth!)
- Arielle's name suggests she is graceful; that, however, is one thing she is not; Arielle Bourgeois is a girl with sweetness, sarcasm, and sheer sass - not the kind of person to back down from challenge, nor confrontation. Everything about life, to her, is caused by being carried by the current - you're always in the right place at the right time and you should make the most of it. Those who can make it past her occasionally abrasive humour unoffended find a bright, eccentric young woman who is loyal to her friends until the very last moment; she'll fight people for you, and if you hate them she's sure to hate them, too.
- One of the things Arielle doesn't seem to have a sense of is boundaries, of who it's okay to talk to like that, and who it's not. Her entire life is concentrated on doing her thing and no amount of criticism is going to stop her in her tracks. By nature she is impulsive, but if she put as much focus into her education as she does into her exploits, she'd be a genius by now, and not spending half her time in her head of house's office for giving sarcastic answers, or for 'using spells inappropriately', for not handing in homework, or for doodling/sleeping in class. Getting qualifications just isn't on her list of priorities.
- She's quite dramatic, probably destined to be an actress or an Instagram model, thus a lot of what she says should be taken with a pinch of salt. A habit of telling half the truth and embellishing is another unfortunate habit of hers. However, when she feels that there has been an injustice, she will stand and fight until she feels like it's been done - at least, unless someone's holding her back, like Peter is. Sarcasm is her first language and French is her second - English is a third and she will hesitate to use it if she finds it funny. If she hates you - it's a probable fate that you will end up pranked and she'll claim it, she won't even pretend it wasn't her.
2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!) (Remember, history must at least be two paragraphs long for the first two characters, three paragraphs long for the third to eighth character, and four paragraphs long for the ninth to fifteenth character!)
This seems like a happy life story – but if you’re so inclined to believe that it is, it might be advisable for you to read into somebody else’s. It’s not a ‘you push me down and I’ll get up again’ story, even if at first to the naked eye it might appear to be the beginning of someone’s happily ever after. These events lead to the birth of Arielle Lumiere Bourgeois, a girl who means well, but has a habit of causing trouble for other families as well as her own. Yet the issues begin not with the girl, but the youth of the girl’s mother.
Felicienne Montclair was in the process of secondary school in her home country of France, and she had met a boy – Francis la Croix – who was going to turn her life upside down, and shake it up too. By the time she was thirteen it appeared they were supposed to be together, but an incident at school – a magical incident – forced her to leave the Muggle school. In fact, she was a late-bloomer, and she would have to be sent to Beauxbatons.
She continued to write to Francis as she combined two years into one – an intellectual girl, she was, magically skilled perhaps not. However, she managed to catch up to join her fourth year at the appropriate time with the help of bonus tuition. Felicienne continued to write, but regretted they were filled with lies due to her inability to tell him about Beauxbatons. They spent their summers together and were joyful and happy – they seemed to be truly in love, so young, and those around them marvelled at their connection. And for some time, it was that way, indeed.
Post-graduation, out of love, Felicienne largely abandoned her magic to be with her Muggle lover, so it would not affect her relationship with him. Leaving her magical tools behind with her sister, she embarked on a magic-free life, except on a few occasions where she retrieved them and sneakily used her magic to make his life run a little bit more smoothly. She ran into one issue with the French ministry over this magic, but abandoned this habit too.
They decided to travel the world together to increase their closeness, and they saw many places and people; but Felicienne slowly begins to crave the magical world and the power with which it provided her once again. One night, while they are in America, she enters the magical realms, only for a while – but has difficulty hiding it from Francis. She just barely succeeded – this relationship is by now becoming uncomfortably secretive for the young Frenchwoman. However, not once is there a thought on her mind of this fairytale being over; indeed, soon enough on a Icelandic fjord under the Northern Lights.
Felicienne realised how much she gave to Francis and how little she received in return; he is overwhelmed by her passion as a lover in such youth. But their first child – a son – is born, and she cannot bear to leave, partially because she craves his affection and fears him giving it to someone else, and partially because she now has a family, a son, to care for. Naturally the young woman had never been selfish, this was no exception; she selflessly stayed with the support of her sister, and the lesser support of her husband.
The pair are taken aback by the level of commitment needed to care for a child and they disagree about who should get to go out, amongst other things. Commitment puts a strain on their carefree relationship, although Felicienne is still tireless in her attempts to preserve their relationship. It is eventually agreed that some holidays taken alone would reduce the stress and be beneficial to their happiness.
These holidays increase in regularity and they have to fight to prove their love; their second-born child, a daughter, is born, only increasing the strain on their family.
Their son’s first sign of magic – too explosive to deny – forces Felicienne to reveal herself as a witch with the support of a Ministry representative. Once the representative is gone Francis expresses his shock, but agrees that because she had confided her darkest secret in him, she should likewise know his. He told her the story of when he went to a fight club in his youth and mistakenly killed his opponent. Neither are able to reconcile the new-found secrets but agree to stay together for the sake of their two young children.
But the family life has begun to fragment by arguments between husband and wife. Their first born son begins to attend Beauxbatons, and Felicienne has had enough of Francis’ words but neither admits or shows it. It is recommended that they seek marital counselling; but instead, Felicienne begins to use her holidays to seek temporary happiness with others – but, she never pursues them permanently. After a loud fight that results in their daughter’s first magical sign (at the mere age of three) Felicienne leaves the family because she can no longer comfortably live with Francis. A split custody agreement between them is agreed.
Eventually despite efforts from Francis they decide there is nothing left for them in attempting to see each other. The two get a divorce, and their interactions are limited only to dropping and picking up their children. Felicienne’s methods of finding happiness no longer seem to work, and when she gets picked up as an actress, she finds little satisfaction in it.
She gets over Francis more quickly than she anticipated and becomes more confident in leaps and bounds. Francis tries to return when she becomes richer, but she turns him down; and she falls for a stranger at the bar, one Antonio Bourgeois. He does not tell her of his status as a dark nymph and after a brief fling he quickly disappears. The result of this is Arielle Bourgeois – a blonde girl starkly different from her siblings.
Arielle’s youth was interesting. Raised by a single mother in a small French vineyard town, despite her mother’s riches she has never particularly been the entitled sort. Her life was filled with ironies despite her middle name, and she had many friends – but her father’s quick wit and clearly, sense of humour, despite having never met him. A loud sort of girl who was never afraid to speak her mind, quite sarcastic, but also unafraid to stand up to others. Her first magical sign was turning a garden hose on a bully, after all, she had quite the taste for dramatics.
It was when Francis decided to start looking for Felicienne that she moved to England with Arielle. She had heard that Hogwarts was the best wizarding school and this was the reason why she had the motivation to move, alongside Francis’ recurring attempts to cross her path. Arielle took a liking to a Hufflepuff boy on the train – a boy whose family would have hated everything she is, Peter Adair. Daughter of a Muggle-Born witch, hailing from France, and most importantly a half-Dark Nymph. She doesn’t broadcast that fact to everybody, however, and that just might keep her safe from his…interesting family.
