This vote has been completed, and the below policy will be implemented
Due to the high confusion, I propose a new PG-13 policy that will become a no nonsense policy for appropriate Role-Playing and a fun chat atmosphere.
PG-13: Any swears with the exception of f*ck and c*nt don't need to be censored, the two indicated do. Violence of any nature is acceptable, as is being graphic with descriptions of injuries so long as it is appropriate to the RP and not solely seeking shock value. Any sex or similar should be referred to in an "off screen" manner. Lead up and the follow up are fine to RP, but the deed itself should simply be noted as *time passes* or something of a similar vein. This also includes having more realistic relationships, which includes no teacher + student relationships and eliminates all graphic events on sexual related things. As well, any words for genitalia should be censored (c*ck, p*ssy, etc.).
REVISION: Swearing should be used sparingly, as it's low quality. Low graphic words are acceptable.
In all honesty, I don't roleplay/feeling the need to use curses to express things in chat isn't nessessary. But others may, and I do not ubject to their being able to speak their minds. So for now I am neutral. -Zanzan28Let the Magic Commence!
We actually have a PG 13 policy in place, however the line between appropriate and inappropriate seems to be uncertain.

I have to say, I honestly expect and try to enforce a higher standard. I think cursing in general is of poor taste, and unnecessary for the majority of rp's on this wiki. I understand that some characters do curse, and I let it go as long as it isn't excessive, but I don't think cursing should be generally accepted or even needed. There are many ways to rp characters, and except for occasional exclamations, I just don't see them as necessary. I also see no reason to allow cursing of any kind on the chat.
As for sexual content, I think it should be "allowed" within certain peramaters. As written above, I think there can be a leadup, such as kissing etc, but when clothing starts being removed, it needs to not be rped out on the wiki. This includes sensual touching, even with clothes on. As for relationships including this, they are acceptable as long as the characters are of age (17 in the wizarding world), and there are no other factors (such as teacher student etc) that may be frowned upon. Violence is acceptbale as long as descriptions don't get too graphic, because there's honestly no reason to write out how someone's innard gushed out onto the floor on this wiki. These are my thoughts on the matter. Bond_em7 (Owl Me) 15:18, August 28, 2012 (UTC)
While I agree, as I think most of your second paragraph is what I'm trying to get across. I'd agree with the cursing to a certain point, as I agree it is a low standard, so I should be use sparingly, as you said. So I agree with everything you said (which I think I'm trying to get across), and even though swearing in chat isn't needed, there are times where people have their occasional exclamations (we are all human, of course) so I think low graphic words such as h*ll, d*mn, and sh*t should be acceptable under certain conditions. I have updated the policy to match what you've pointed out.
Thanks for clarifying HoR. I was just trying to spell out in more detail what I find acceptable and don't. I think I agree with the policy as written, and it now includes my concerns and worries from above. I want a little more time to hink about this, and turn it over in my head, but I will vote at the latest by tomorrow. Bond_em7 (Owl Me) 15:40, August 28, 2012 (UTC)
When HoR requested that he put up the vote, I told him that I thought it would create more problems than it solves, and that I thought it would be better to get a second b-crat's opinion. Echostar 15:38, August 28, 2012 (UTC)
