Julius Tyrrell - -Former Minister for Magic

- "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Message Me  - 19:23, September 20, 2017 (UTC)

He smiled out to the crowd, waving and nodding to as many people as he could. "Good afternoon, everyone. By now, most of you probably know me, but for those that do not, my name is Julius Tyrrell and I am running to be your next Minister for Magic! First, I want to quickly tell you about my history here at the Ministry, while trying not to bore you completely with every little detail." He chuckled a little before going on. "I started my career here at the British Ministry almost twenty years ago and since then, I've slowly worked my way up by spending over ten years as both a section and department head and ended up as the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister. I really learned what being a Minister means and trust me, there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. I worked very closely with both Minister Smith and Minister Jeon and learned so much from both. One of the most important things is that in order to do this job you need not only hold the knowledge and experience from working in the ministry, but you also need passion and unconditional positive regard. It's easy to hire the most experienced and brilliant person, but if they don't love what they do and care for the people they serve then they're not going to be a very effective leader. I'd like to believe that I have both of these qualities and more; an understanding that the needs of the wizarding community are not going to be unheard or looked over. An understanding of how the Ministry works and what it needs in order to develop into a thriving body, ready to make change in the world. For the last four years, I have worked very closely with the Minister to help run all aspects of the Ministry. Learning how things run behind the scenes. Learning its quirks and its weak spots. Through my time here,I've grown to love what I do and who I do it for." He paused for dramatics before sweeping out his arms to embrace the crowd, "All of you. Not only do I want to see to see the Ministry grow and thrive, but I want the same for all of you. If elected, I will do everything in my power to be your advocate and voice. Fight for you rights and listen to your concerns. I firmly believe that together, united as a community, we can create a strong and thriving future for past, present and future generations - no matter who you are or where you come from." He smiled out to the crowd. "I think that while the Ministry has been accomplishing many great things, we've been rather stagnant. While it's not entirely a bad thing, it's not necessarily good either. If elected, I want the Ministry to progress and grow as a whole. The world is constantly changing, and if we aren't adapting to the world and bringing in progressive ideas, can our Ministry and our people truly thrive? I will require every one of our departments to come up with a reaching goal every year that will push them to grow and better serve our citizens. Starting off, I want the overall goal of our Ministry to be unification and forward momentum. We all need to come together for the common good and work with each other to move our nation forward to a time of success, innovation, and prosperity." He paused again, letting the words sink in. "In relation to our forward momentum as a nation, I also want to create a safer environment for all citizens. We need to live in a world where we can all coexist peacefully. We've lost many of our own people due to attacks based on prejudice, one almost being our Minister. I won't stand for it any longer. We will bring an end to the prejudice and hate crimes that have been committed against our people. We will bring an end to the hate. I will do everything in my power to ensure that all of our citizens, no matter their species, race, or blood status are protected and unafraid. We all live on this planet together and we all deserve the same rights and opportunities to achieve our dreams. Should I be elected, this nation will be a place for all. A place where people want to be." He smiled, looking out on the crowd."While my competitor is an amazing woman and very knowledgeable, she hasn't experienced the British Ministry. All of her political experience has been in the French Ministry, which is structured and run differently than our own. She doesn't know our Ministry like I do, and she hasn't served you like I have. While she would be a great addition to the Ministry, I think she needs to spend some time with it before running it." He paused again. "As I said before, together united, we can create a strong and thriving future for all. Together, we can make this nation the place we want it to be. If I get your vote, you will not be disappointed. Thank you."

Dunstan le Fey

Dunstan le Fey - head of magical education ✧ house of merlin

-Success is most often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable.
Message Me – 01:55, September 29, 2017 (UTC)

"First of all, I want to thank all of you for allowing me to stand here today, before all of you. I know it's hard to go through with this election, especially after the incidents we went through just a little bit ago, but I find it's necessary, for many reasons," he begins, with a small smile that fades as he adopts a better-suited, serious look. "I want to extend my sincerest condolences to those who find themselves without family members after these attacks. I stand by all of you. These are hard times, I won't take away from that fact, but I trust we can get through this, as one. We were once a unified nation with many reasons worth being proud of. It's been a long time since we've been able to feel that way, but I trust that we can build a bridge to a better future. Not just me, but all of us. Being Minister isn't a position wherein I make all the decisions I want, or feel are appropriate for the wizarding community. Being Minister is a position where I take your advices, listen to your concerns and advocate for all of you. Under my administration, my focus will remain on building a government you can rely on. A government the citizens of Great Britain can trust to do what's best for them as a whole. For a country to prosper, we need a stable government. That's going to be one of my key focuses. It'll go side by side with helping rebuild all our amazing places and helping the working force get back on their feet. I stand by all of you, Great Britain. I'll be there, as your equal, working to rebuild the fallen structures in Carkitt Market, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade. This is your home. This is my home. We can't let ignorance defeat us. We're stronger than that - better than that," he says, firmly. He sounds like he believes what he's saying, and he does. He'll fight tooth and nail for his country, whether it be as Minister or as an official in the Ministry. He doesn't know, though he hopes it'll be as the former in order to be able to offer even more help to his people than he would as the latter. "We are one. There's no need to divide ourselves. Whether we're man or woman, gay or straight, human or near-human, no matter what religion, color, species, or appearance we have - we are all united as one. Now it's our time to show that. These are the times where we all need to become one. It's who we are. And frankly, that'll be our saving grace. I'll do what I can, of course I will. I've already got plans detailed out, which will be elaborated on with the rest of my team as time goes on and will also be extended towards fellow candidates Julius & Morrígan, whichever wins. I plan to do inspections at Hogwarts and review all curriculums for each and every class offered at the school. Lil Bundles will gain the necessary funding to provide a good life for those children. We will be restarting internships at the Ministry, once all departments have been reviewed and - if necessary - reformed. Efforts to bring together the wizarding population and non-wizarding population - slowly, but surely- will also be made, in an effort to better our ways of living. We want to integrate muggle ways of living with our own. With their technology, and our magic, we'd be able to achieve close to anything. You see, there are many, many things I want to do; however, to better our social and political standing, we need to fix our issues at a national-level. For instance, in the past eight years, turmoil has grown between near-human and human populations due to conflicting ideals. We can't have that. Everyone needs to understand: the Ministry of Magic stands for all, as one society. We will tend to every individual need, of course we will, but we need to fix what we have damaged before we can host events like Triwizard Tournaments, Potions tournaments, and all the good kind of events. I want to do it - trust me, I do. But we're a fragile nation right now. One with a long road ahead of us," he says, into the mic. Recognizing he shouldn't draw out his speech, he draws it to a close. "So I hope you all put your faith in me and help me help you. I want to be your Minister. I want to help rebuild our home. I want to help restore our glory. I want to build a bridge to a better tomorrow. I've worked for the Ministry for many long years, as Head of Magical Education and a member of Wizengamot. I understand it won't be easy, and we have a long road ahead of us, but I trust we can do it, if we all put in some effort. I can only hope you store your faith in me to achieve that. Thank you."
