Nathan Jones- Gryffindor Alumni ♂ Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports

"Hello everyone. My name is Nathan Jones, and I'm one of the candidates for the Minister of Magic. Just to give you all a little background about myself. I'm a Gryffindor Alumnus, and I played for my house Quidditch Team. Normally that wouldn't be relevant, but for me it is. Because I was picked up by the professional team known as the Falmouth Falcons. I played for them until I was 35 years old, when I was given a career-ending injury to my knee. That's why I have a cane," he says lifting it into the air. "After my injury, I was offered to be the manager of the Falcons. I did that for five years before I was offered the position of Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. During my short tenure, I have done a lot. I helped to run the Triwizard Tournament, and as you all know, England hosted the World Cup this year," he clears his throat. "Now that's enough about my background and onto the policy change I will propose if I am elected. The first of which will be increased funding for Lil Bundles. I personally know the owner, and he works very hard. However he often has a hard time making ends meet for the orphanage. It's simply over-crowded and we owe those children better. I will also create new jobs for workers. Specifically in development of new technology. I know that many of use are still using some rather archaic methods for communication, transportation, and just the general lifestyle. I will fund research into how we can blend muggle and magical technology, in the hopes that people's general quality of life will improve. Now onto foreign relations. I hope to create a foreign exchange student program to improve our student's understanding of other cultures. I do realize that are many students from other countries already attending Hogwarts, but I wish to send our students to other schools for a year. To see how they do things, and hopefully we can learn from each other," he smiles at the crowd. "Now onto why you should vote for me. I have experience. My competition is younger than I am, and don't have quite as much life experience as I do. I'm a made man. I grew up in Lil Bundles, myself. I have had to work for everything I have. I know that one of my competitors is the son of a former minister. Not that it is a bad thing, and I'm not implying he isn't hard-working. But he hasn't come from the bottom of the totem pole like I have. You don't get much lower than an orphan. A vote for me is a vote for an experienced, hard-working individual that will produce results. I won't just be a caretaker. I will make decisions for the betterment of our society. Thank you, and good night."
Jones made points the other two candidates failed to make, and seemed to be intent on helping out the poorer side of the community, as well as generating employment for the unemployed, which warranted a vote from Malia.
Bailey stepped up to the podium, he is slightly nervous but he wouldn't dare to let it show. "Hello everyone, before I start I'd like to thank you all for coming to this electoral event." He took a pause, flashing as confident a smile as he could muster. "For those of you who don't know me, my name is Bailey Jeon and I am the Head of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. I am here today to ask all of you to give me your vote in becoming the new Minister for Magic. If elected as the new Minister, I would make valiant efforts towards closing the gaps between the wizarding world, the muggle world, and any other species that don't fall into those two categories. I would take in all forms of necessary help, whether it be suggestions from department heads or even just the common ministry worker. All voices, whether being or beast, would be heard and their needs would be met to the best of my ability. There would not be any suggestion left to collect dust, and in order to do so I would implement biweekly meetings into the ministry so that each Head can touch base and discuss any concerns they or those working in their departments have. If also elected as the Minister for Magic, I would do my best to work closely with each department, not only helping the department heads but also learning from them as we all strive for the ministry to be as excellent as we all know it can be." He paused for a moment. "Now I know I haven't been in the ministry for as long as my opposition has, but I believe I can bring many things to the table. As I am fairly young in age, I would be bringing a more youthful outlook to the Minister for Magic position. I do believe I would even be the youngest minister to date if I am not mistaken. However that does not mean I would do lesser of a job than my opposition would." He flashed another quick smile to the crowd, but mainly he did to catch his breath. "I have shown my responsibility and leadership through being head of a department, taking on the position three years ago when I was merely twenty-two years of age. With all that being said, although I may not be the most experienced in the ministry, I know that if given the chance to be Minister of Magic that I will not disappoint those who voted for me. Thank you everyone for your time, and good luck as well to my fellow candidates." Bailey then bowed to the crowd and left with a wave and a smile.
Bailey seemed pretty put together, and he supposes his age appealed more to Boomer's sensibility- who better to understand him than someone young? He applauds Bailey's rise in the Ministry, obviously having much success in order to reach this state.

"I believe that Bailey has shown us here today that he has a way with her words and how he holds himself. I would like to see a nice, young and well mannered gentlemen as the next minister for magic. Bailey has my vote.

Adrianna, seemingly in unison with the following points brought up, cast her vote for Bailey Jeon.
- "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

He stood at the podium, ready to speak to the crowd. "Good evening, everyone. Thank you for all coming out this evening. It makes me proud to see so many of you out here to participate in this election. First off, I'd like to introduce myself to those of you that may not know who I am. My name is Julius Tyrrell, and I'm the current Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, and I would be honored to be your next Minister for Magic.I stand here today, along with my competitors, because we all want what's best for our country." He smiled out to the crowd. "I started my career here as the Junior Assistant to Minister Smith. During this time, I ran through every department, doing my best to deliver the orders of the Minister. I was able to see how each department ran and learn what it took for the Ministry as a whole to run as a cohesive unit. When Estella Tyrrell took over the Ministry, I was moved to the International Magical Office of Law, where I then worked to maintain and execute laws put forth by both our Ministry and the International Confederation of Wizard, as well as advise the Minister on international law. Eventually, I was promoted to Head of the Department. Here, I worked with the governments of other countries to maintain our national security, promote international peace, and regulate international trade. During this time, I also worked with the International Confederation of Wizards, establishing international laws and policies. Through my time in the Ministry, I've done what I can to ensure the peace of all our citizens, as well as bettering our reputation on the international stage of the world. I've worked hard to maintain peace and relationships with our allies. And domestically, I've done what I can to improve the efficiency of our government. With everything I've achieved here, I believe that I'm the most qualified candidate to be your next Minister for Magic." He paused for a moment. "So please, vote for the candidate that you think will lead our nation into an era of peace and prosperity, as well as making the Ministry as efficient and effective as possible. Together, let's make a change. Thank you." With that, he waved and left the podium.
