The Forbidden Forest (or Dark Forest) is a huge wooded area that borders the grounds of Hogwarts. As would be expected given the name, the forest is prohibited to students, unless they are sent here as a detention assignment or for Care for Magical Creatures lessons. Few students willingly venture into the forest, because there are many dangerous creatures lurking in here. Occasionally, though, detention is served here.
There has been a recent discovery of black Périgord truffles in the edges of the Forest.
Beware Of The Dangerous Denizens Of The Forest!Creatures In The Forest (not all are dangerous, but if you still wish to proceed, do so with extreme caution!):
Acromantula Colony (DO NOT approach, use Arania Exumai if utterly, utterly necessary)
Fluffy (three-headed dog, vicious and strong. DO NOT approach)
Werewolves (don't get bitten so you won't end up being a werewolf)
Trolls (dangerous, DO NOT approach or make them angry)
Vampires (mostly good ones, but still be careful)
Hags (they live in caves or gingerbread houses, hoping to lure unsuspecting victims, much like Hansel and Gretel, so best not to be enticed into their dwellings)
Giants (dangerous, DO NOT approach or make them angry)
Thestrals (you can only see them when you have seen death)
Hippogriffs (DO NOT just approach one, take a bow and see of it bows back at you)
Blood-sucking Bugbears (as the name suggests, better not to be blood-sucked)
Blast-Ended Skrewt (don't touch the tail, it will explode. Males sting, while females suck blood)
Bowtruckle (usually peaceful, but violent when the tree it is guarding is being threatened, be careful in your actions)
Centaurs (DO NOT insult them with terms such as "half-breed", "near human intelligence" or anything related to that)
Unicorns (adults prefer a woman's touch, foals don't mind if men do it; don't try to catch or kill one)
Grawp (aggressive when in a bad mood, better not to approach)

God, that feast was boring. The entire time, the thought of the Forest had played at the front of his mind; he had only heard of it from his mum in bedtime stories, told about all the creatures that live in here, and how Voldemort once showed up and ate a unicorn. Morgan, of course, is fascinated. Having waited until sundown and snuck past the new prefects, he's at the mouth of the forest, looking around for the thinnest thicket of trees and easiest way in.
She had taken it upon herself to go wandering. Recently her inner eye was directing her towards the forest, where she was currently at. Absentmindedly meandering about, she reached a clearing, where a familiar figure was...."Morgan?"
Vinny had gotten curious when he saw Donna coming over here. So of course he followed. Once she stopped and said something, he kind of stuck his head out. "A little late to be sitting there staring, Morgan." He'd ask if he's alright but he doesn't look injured, so it was a dumb question.
Bia had, until that moment, been enjoying the peace and quiet of the Forbidden Forest. It was a huge difference from the rowdiness of the Great Hall and the ruckus in the common room. She was perched on one of the taller branches of one of the trees, overlooking Morgan, Dona and Vinny with interest. She could tell them she's there, but on the other hand, why? So she keeps as quiet as she can, leaning to the side to get a better look at the lot of them.

Oh my God, the arrival of the other kids both relieves and infuriates him - how can he not even get any alone time here? But then again, the woods are dark and some of the shadows seem to move by themselves, so Morgan turns to the voices and nods, smiling a little on one side of his mouth. "I was going to go in by myself, but since you're all here," he says, before looking up into the higher branches. "You can come down, Bia. Don't be scared." There's almost a mocking tone to his voice, especially since he saw her up there ages ago and wow, she can't hide for shit.
She turns around to find Vinny behind her. "Oh. Jesus." She says, "You both have gotta learn how to be less creepy." She says, "By the way, my inner eye told me that there are giant massive spiders here that talk. It sounds cool and I wanna see."
Bia almost smirks. Almost. Carefully, she lowers herself until she's hanging off a low enough branch to let go and land firmly on her feet. "Not scared. Just nosy," she says nonchalantly. "Not out here, that's for f-cking sure."

Once Bia gives herself up, Morgan allows himself a smirk before turning back to the other two, face changing to one of sheer bemusement. "I know it's our first day and everything, but do you really want to go giant-spider-chasing at midnight?" he asks; as exciting as it sounds, he doesn't want to die. "Cause I'm not pulling any of you out if some eight-foot arachnid gets you in its fangs."
She chuckles, "Vinny will sacrifice himself, won't ya Vin?" She says, giving him a slight pat on the shoulder. "Plus I'm sure there are other creatures and things that are possibly less likely to eat us."
He stepped away from her. Goodness, he hated being touched. "I'd rather bite my own tongue off before sacrificing myself for anyone... But I'm more than willing to throw you in first," He raises a brow at Donna. "Look, as much as it could kill us.... I'm more interested than scared, so. Ya know. Suck it up."
Bia leans against the trunk of the tree, arms crossing over her chest as she fixes a glare at Vinny and Donna. At this point it's not even fully malicious - it's just her natural look. "Come on, le Fey. Don't tell me you're too big a pussy. What happened to being the baddest bitches?"

Bia's voice seems to grate on him. Turning round with an unimpressed expression, he gives her a once-over and isn't enthused by what he sees. "I'd like to go into the forest with someone that can actually hide, thanks. Lest something comes running at us, wanting to snap our necks." Sounding more and more like his mum with each word, he addresses the group. "If you're gonna go in there, don't be giggling like a pack of little girls. I'm talking to you, Donna," he adds pointedly - however, there's a wry little smile when he does so. He likes Donna, she makes him laugh.
Honestly, Morgan can kindly fuck off if he expects her to blindly follow him. "And I'd rather go into the forest with someone who doesn't look like he could get knocked over by a gentle breeze, but here we are," she scoffs. Pushing her weight off the tree, she pulls out her wand, the tip of her wind lighting up as she successfully casts Lumos. (She's dead set on proving she isn't as fucking useless as this jackass wants to make her seem.) She stalks after Vinny, not bothering to wait up on mop-head or Donna. They'll follow, probably. (She still held out hope they wouldn't.)

With a roll of his eyes, Morgan stalks after Vinny, lighting his wand with a quick Lumos and racking his brains for every spell that could deter any monsters they will definitely come across. He ignores Bia - he'll probably be doing a lot of that during his time in this establishment - and instead catches up to Vinny, the combined light creating a much easier path.
Evangeline isn't an idiot. She had staff posted around the school patrolling for stray students. It had been the definition of a graveyard shift, until some passing centaurs who had seen the quartet of firsties had gone and informed Sev about them. Finally, some fun. He apparated just a few feet ahead of where the kids were, and cast a nonverbal Accio on their wands as they approached. "Going somewhere?" He asks, a stern, yet somewhat bemused expression on his face.
The loss of her wand perplexes Bia for a moment. She knows Morgan isn't at that level yet, so it isn't him. It's not until she sees Severin that it all comes together. She rolls her eyes and strolls up to him, holding a hand out expectantly. "Mum always said it's rude to take what isn't yours," she drawls, with a saccharine smile.

The appearance of Sev doesn't make him jump or anything - instead, it kicks his instincts into hyperdrive. Sabrina trained him to be a good escape artist, and it's here where he best utilises his skills; in the shadows, he manages to sneak away into the darkness, quiet as a mouse.
His multiple years dealing with break ins and heists in the auror office means that this is literally child's play. A quick Shield Charm stops Vinny from progressing even further, and his look shoots down Donatella's attempt to explain the group away to absolution. But there's a fourth, according to the Centaur's report. "Homenum Revelio." He casts around his protective bubble, to reveal Morgan. "Four first years." He looks around, "All Slytherins. My, my." He says. "Here's what'll happen. You can follow me to my office now, and we deal with this rather painlessly. Or we don't, which means Professor Deonte will notify your parents and you face the possibility of Expulsion. The choice is yours." He says, making sure his tone is clear and diplomatic, without any threat attached to it.
Bia throws a look at Morgan over her shoulder and smirks, glad that he got caught. Maybe that'll humble him up a bit. Turning back towards Severin, she doesn't look concerned at all. Her father won't allow one of his own to be expelled, bastard or not. He'll pay the school off if he has to. "Let's say we go with you. What's the punishment? Assuming there's any."

He isn't worried when his cover gets blown, nor is he worried by the threat of expulsion - Sabrina was pretty determined to homeschool him, she'd be delighted if he got kicked all the way back to the island. He stays quiet, eyes flitting over Sev's body to try and size him up.
He considers this. "Let's say you come back to the castle without a fuss. I'll dock five house-points each and you'll serve one detention with me. Professor Deonte doesn't have to know about it, and no questions asked as to why exactly you four put yourself in grave danger on your first night at Hogwarts." He explains. "I trust you all are mature enough to understand what option is better." He asks, with an eyebrow raised.
Unlike the others, he doesn't have a back up plan. In fact, it seems hopeless to even think about getting expelled. So why do Morgan and Bia look so calm about it? "And how do we know you're not just going to tell Deonte anyways?"
