Millie had invited Alden out for a stroll through Diagon Alley. After having just met up, she was pulling them both into Flourish and Blotts to see if they had this new book she heard was out. She had a feeling it wouldn't be any good nor would it be here, but it felt like a decent first stop for them for now.

He was more than happy to follow Millie into the bookstore. "What's the book?" he asked.

Millie shrugged, looping her arm in his as she started to try to find it in the main area of the shop where any displays for new releases might be. "It's j-just some small thing on Inferi, l-like a f-fresher l-look on them, I g-guess...and I also w-wanted t-to p-pick up something on z-zombies, f-for w-when I g-go t-to America." She paused, "Umm, I w-want to try to f-find one."

He nodded. "Sure. So... fiction for the zombies thing, and... nonfiction for the Inferi?"

Millie was quite slow in checking the titles of books, so she was letting him walk ahead if he wanted. She liked double checking them to make sure she wasn't reading it right or else she would just go over the entire section again when she didn't find what she needed. Well, she would probably do that regardless, but she would decline that thought for now.

He found one on dark creatures and pulled it out, scanning through the table of contents. "This one's got Inferi..." he said to Millie.

Millie looked up, before putting the book back. "Yeah, that sounds...about r-right, I think," she said, skipping lightly towards the Dark Arts section with an odd amount of excitement before starting to go through the books on the shelves.

He saw the excitement on her face, and wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel about that, but he followed her anyway, looking through the titles.

"I know," she said, sighing. "I c-convinced my father to j-just g-go f-for f-four weeks now though instead of eight? And, that's b-better, r-right?" She paused, "Umm, you c-could always stay over f-for a b-bit w-when we come back though?"

She glanced up at the familiar voice spotting him putting away books, a flicker of a smile crossing onto her face. "You work here Schonewise and you didn't tell me? I could have been reaping the benefits long before now"
"Got anything to distract me from the fact my brothers been missing for the last few months and no one has any idea where he is?" The words slipped out before she could stop them. But the moment they were out she knew it was the right thing to do. She needed to tell someone. She couldn't deal with this herself.
She nodded solemnly "Few months now" She muttered in reply "He'd been missing two months before Melody reported it, not that i blame her. Henry made sure she moved into the Harper's house so she's been with us since"
"I decided to train to become a professional dancer" She replied, going slightly red in embarrassment "It's kind of silly really I guess. When there's so many magical jobs. And I have an education in magic. But I started working in a muggle bookshop too, near to where I train to try and afford an apartment"

He was about to offer her one of the rooms in his way to big of a place (thanks dad) but realized that it would be a really bad idea. So instead he grinned. "You want to become a dancer? That's so cool!"
She nodded "I wanted to become one when I was a kid. Then stuff happened and other things became important and I had to stop dancing. It was only after you left and crap went down that I picked it up again. It just kind of stuck as being what I wanted to do"

He glanced at the clock again and quickly put the last book on the shelf. "So, my shift is officially over." He looked over at her. "Do you want to catch up somewhere? We haven't seen each other since seventh year."
Regardless if Beauxbatons had taught her far too much already, she felt behind at Hogwarts even if she wasn't actually there yet. It's not like she had an ego to hurt, but the former Papillonlisse perhaps looked lower in self-esteem than what was usual. As she entered Flourish and Blotts with several of Liselotte's coins jingling in her pocket, she was running through the supply list and heading for the aisle which she believed to have the Charm books.
Katja looked up, a bit shocked that anybody would be saying something to her. As she smiled back, she raised her hand in a small wave, "Hi," she responded before turning to the book shelf to try to find the correct book.
Katja felt the scream of puberty or else she would've thought he wasn't a student at all. "The...um, charm book for my fifth year," she said, extending the list out for him to see if he wanted although she instantly regretted it as she realized that he probably already knew what that would be.
Katja tried not to react negatively, but struggled to hide how offended she was. "My name is Katja," she said, considering mocking the voice herself, but she quickly decided otherwise. Instead she just smiled nicely and continued to try to find the textbook.
"Thank you," she said, her tone becoming a bit shy in that moment. "I need to find just about everything on my list. I don't really know where they would be...other than I think most of them should be in this aisle?" she said, looking up with quite the innocent and confused expression.
"I'm not sure if I'm taking extra classes or not. It depends on what those would be. I suppose we should probably just get the books for standard classes and I'll see what else might be needed later..." she said, sighing slightly. When he had reached above her, she had ducked and moved out of the way. As she took it back, she once again struggled to collect her words so all she said was "thank you."
"And History," she said, giving a delicate smile before moving ahead of him and figuring out which subject's aisle would be the most logical to head to next. It seemed that it was Defense Against the Dark Arts. "What do you think of the professors?"
"Great. Maybe if you talk to the headmistress, then she could sit through a lesson or two and take care of it as she might see fits," she said, trying to be optimistic. "Otherwise, I might be doomed, but I'm hopeful."
