The judge, an old man, with wispy hair calls the court to order."Shadow Berrin, you are accused of attacking German Alkeav and Lowell Ormond, two heads of states."

"Accused? Guilty!" Ormond whispered.

Shadow merely looked at the judge. "The accusations are inaccurate. You see, your beloved leaders, Ormond and Alkeav ordered vicious attacks on me by their aurors and security. I was simply going to them on an act of peace. I was trying to ally with them. And I would have thought they would have been grateful for avoiding conflict, and attempting to join them as an act of peace. I was wrong. Instead of politefully asking me to leave, they commited acts of aggression and attempted to terminate me. I was simply performing an act of self-defense."

"Obiezione! Such lies! In actuallity, Your Honor, when I did deny him entry to my office, as I have every right to do, he decided to blow it to bits to gain entry."

"And you have an eyewitness, Ormond?"

LowellWB

"I have the photographs that were taken by my Aurors after he decided to leave, also i have Mrs. Jaylyn Belmont, who heard his 'peaceful attempts' to blackmail Mr. German."

He eyed Shadow. "Make it worth my time, Berrin. What is it?"

Shadow gave the judge a deadly glare. "I did have some important information, yes, but is that really worth trying to murder a person? And I'd be willing to pay whatever fine Ormond has for the petty damage. I did return the next day, intending to fix my wrongings with an offer of peace and unity. Then Ormond did something completely unnecessary, and criminal by using seven of his lapdogs to kill me with the worst of the Unforgivable Curses, the Avada Kedavara Curse, a curse that has been outlawed around most of the world."

"Your evidence, Berrin, your evidence?" He turned back to Ormond. "Bring the Witness."

The judge looked at her. "Yes well, do come in. Now Ms Belmont. You were a witness at the incident, correct?"

"Yes, your honor."

"Why where you there? You're a British Auror."

"Well, I am an off-duty auror. Therefore, I was willing to take post at the Russian ministry as they were short on security."

"Well of course it was approved by my 'superiors'. And, no, I recieved no compensation from either party. Think of it as charity work."

"Hmm...Very well then. Would the defendant party wish to subjugate any points?"

"Very Well. Ms Belmont, please tell me all that you witnessed."

"Well, I was sitting at the reception desk when he walked into the Ministry and I watched him request to see the Tsar. Soon, he was walking down the corridor to the office. I was able to monitor the happenings of the office through a skrying pool, provided by the Tsar that morning. I watched them talk, normally at first, then he pulled out an envelope that had clearly been opened then resealed. Afterwards, he dropped an owl on the desk, dead. The Tsar was shocked and immediately he called for security and that's when I came into the room, doing my duty, I acted to potect the Tsar by taking out the guards first then I moved onto Shadow."

Acting on my instinct, as I was trained to do. I conjured a rope an attempted to simply bind the two guards behind Shadow."

"Actually, ma'am. The Tsar shouted, for security. It seems shortsighted to me that I would assume he would shout simply for me to escort him out. Secondly, no. However, to drop a dead animal and to demand something from a man of his postion and age is very threatening. And as I have said, it was my job to protect this man. I am trained to assume the worst, I acted."

"No. The Tsar is a very skilled wizard, and Im sure he would have been able to fend for himself had they attacked. However, it was my job to make sure he didnt have to."

"Is this important at all?"

"Well, what I am saying is that the Tsar was holding his wand under his desk the entire time, but they couldnt have possibly known that. So, technically, they could have, but he would have been able to defend himself.

"Your Rebuttal, Ormond?"

Lawyer

Johnathan LaBranche Slytherin

"I am here on the behalf of Mr. Ormond and the Tsar. Please, pardon my tardiness."

Game Master
Send Me an Owl! - 17:16, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
Ms McLaggen, I agree with your first point, however, by law, everyone is allowed to have a legal expert on behalf of them. So, Mr LaBranche, your rebuttal?
Lawyer

Johnathan LaBranche Slytherin
-Barrister

"The Tsar is the head of a wizard society, one of the most powerful ones at that. It is absurd that anyone would question his choice of security, or even his use. Constantly, he is vulnerable and most definitely a target to attacks. To not allow him to practice caution by employing Mrs. Belmont to do her job is an inane argument."

Lawyer

Johnathan LaBranche Slytherin
-Barrister

"Wrong again, madam. Mr. Shadow was trying to blackmail the Tsar, trying to not only manipulate Russia, but also Italy. And by extension, Germany. This, in my book as I am sure it is in others, is a crime."

Lawyer

Johnathan LaBranche Slytherin
-Barrister

He flipped through his notes and said, "A statement from Mrs. Belmont: 'He said, call your puppet master Ormond, tell him I know his plan.'"

Lawyer

Johnathan LaBranche Slytherin
-Barrister

"Your Honor, presenting a dead owl with intercepter mail, another crime, calling another head of state a puppetmaster, and saying he knows of their plans is clearly a recipe for black mail."

Hmm...well the evidence doesn not seem to be pointing in Berrin's favour....Before I make a decision, do you have anything to say, Berrin?

The judge rubbed his chin, and then slowly spoke, "After great consideration, Shadow berrin, you are...."

He reads the paper and sys, "Hmm, Shadow Berrin, you are not guilty, and may leave." He bangs the gravel.
