She was pacing her office once more, looking over the paperwork she had received about Gavyn before she heard the door knock. "Come in!" was her response; her door was never locked unless she had any good reason for it.

Gavyn takes a moment to formulate a response. "Well, I'm originally from France," he says slowly. "I took care of my brothers and sisters while my parents worked to keep us afloat, but also did my best in school. I guess that's why I care about people as much as I do." He shrugs."You could say I have an interest in international politics. The United Kingdom is my home now, but I am interested in global affairs. Besides, this department affects so many people, some hefty decisions are made here, and I want to be part of that. The best way to be active in your local government is to take part in it, right? Same goes for global government."
"You are certainly not wrong in that regard. That being said... I believe that in order to succeed in such a level, you must have a want to make a difference. What difference do you want to make to global affairs?"

Gavyn looks at her evenly. "Is it too simple to say, 'end poverty'?" He cracks a smile. He knows exactly what to say. "I'll be honest, after what I've endured, I never want to be where I was before." His words are lined with steel, clearly having gone through delicate times. "It's not easy being a muggle born. I'd love to start there. I think international policy should have a certain wizard rights we can all make rules to help maintain, much as the muggle United Nations does. With our magic, it should be much more attainable." The second bit was...more drawn out, but he doubts he can be hired on ambition alone. He knows how this game works.
She'd give a soft smile and take another step in offering her hand her movements graceful. Her tone was polite and formal. "My name is Jaina Nordskov and I represent the country of Norway. We are working on improving our International relations in the magical community and are looking to join the ICW. I know we need other countries to support us so I'm here both to figure out the proper procedure to join and to hopefully get the names of some of the other representatives I can contact to try to garner that support."
She offers a friendly smile as she shakes hands with Jaina. She gestures for her to sit as she does likewise. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Ms. Nordskov." She pauses, briefly. "As far as applying for the ICW goes... there isn't exactly a formal means to apply at the present moment, however I am working on getting something approved that will allow for nations, like Norway among others, to have the opportunity to apply for ICW membership."
She'd nod. "I'm working with one of our representatives currently in the ICW, about setting up a formal application. In essence, the application will more or less ask for the acceptance of the magical government in the mission of promoting of peace and wizarding safety, among other things. It will then be decided upon by the ICW in a special convention, and if the majority accept the application, then permission to join will be granted."
She'd nod. "Well we would certainly be willing to help you and the ICW try out this new process you're implementing. I understand there may be some snags and such since it's still being developed but we are willing to do what we need to help the International Magical Community."
She nodded, the enthusiasm prompting a smile on her face. "Your enthusiasm is why I love working a position as this. It's been a goal of mine to unite the magical community across the globe, and it's people like you that make me believe in it. Self-pride aside, I'd love to arrange for you to meet with Morrígan Talhaoui, one of the British ICW representatives. She is a key figure in making this from a possibility to a reality. And I am more than certain that she would be willing to vouch for Norway to be granted ICW membership as well."
