Blog Policy
- Blogs are a useful tool used by users to announce large chunks of information. Any user can utilise this tool, whether or not they are in the administration team, for both in-character (IC) or for out of character (OOC) reasons. We have used blogs for many reasons, such as meeting summaries, ministerial announcements, administration decisions, long pieces of writing, and leaving announcements. They’re a useful tool to be used to connect with people in the community. One of the most common usages is leaving blogs to announce a user either departing the wiki entirely or stepping down from the administration team.
- Whilst we don’t restrict people on what they say in their blogs, we do have some boundaries. At Admin discretion, we will remove blogs that are aimed to be offensive, disruptive, or to target another user, regardless of whether the admin team agrees or disagrees with the content. Those who continue to abuse it will receive a warning and will then receive a 24 hour block.
- We ask that there is a purpose for the blog. It is not an area to “chat” with other users or to have quick conversations. Regrettably, we have lost wikia chat so, if you cannot access discord, it is more difficult to communicate with one another. However, depending on the context, we might overlook this such as when a new user is asking for help but not sure who to message. However, we do have talk pages (colloquially called OWLs) that provide a space for this. This is not a strict policy, but we may delete blogs if they have no purpose to them.
