You press on, trying not to think of what lies ahead. As you're just about to lose hope, you see a light. It's a warm, purple-ish light, and you walk through a set of magnificently gaunt double-doors, inlaid with what looks like human skulls. As you walk through the doors, you enter the ancient Crypt of the le Fey family. Magnificent in size, and illuminated by enchanted purple and orange flames, to give it a permanently mauve glow, the gothic crypt it breathtaking. You can smell thick heavy incense, which soothes you, especially after the swampy catacombs. Stone gargoyles look down upon you, with eyes that seem to follow you as you make your way around the crypt. You take a moment to blow the dust from each grave and see the name. Guinevere Pendragon…Ygraine Pendragon…Uther Pendragon…Mordred le Fey…Morgause le Fey…Morgana le Fey… — the names of dead ancestors to Sabrina, the stuff of legend. Perhaps, however, the most impressive is the one in the centre - the eldest of them all…Merlin Ambrosius — the Merlin.

She'd been hiding down here after training with Karith, without the nevessary energy to climb to the Watchtower, where she usually slept best in the Citadel. She was a small ball, in the edge of the place, hidden in the shadows. She's in a state of semi-consciousness, too scared to fall asleep and risk the usual terrors that plagued her, but also too exhausted to make it to an appropriate place to crash. She hears footsteps, though, from somewhere, and she blinks, looking around blearily.

Her eyebrows knit together when she hears the jumble of French words. The voice is eerily familiar, but she doesn't put a mame or face to it until she meets striking blue eyes and realization dawns on her. "I don't speak French," she says groggily. "The one language I said I wouldn't learn," she adds, hands flying to her eyes to rub the sleep out of them. "I am exhausted. And in pain. Ugh."

"Ice Cream and apples are passable combination for food," she objects, a little absentmindedly when her eyes fall to Renee's hand. She thinks she sees something, but it's dark and she's drained and wrote it off as a figment of her imagination. She takes it, though, standing up and brushing herself off. "I'm glad you've found me, though. It's been a while since we last talked," she remarks, mustering a small smile that's tinged with just a pinch of the sadness she feels. "It's my fault, I know. But, well - killing a guy makes you step back and think a lot, doesn't it?"

"Isn't it going to be just another burden for you? I've been processing it on my own. Having Tilly helps, too, but I've avoided talking about it with her unless I have to. "I will let you know, my strict eat-all ice cream diet is still in motion," Tessa remarks, but a soft smile spreads. She doesn't miss the nostalgia, at all, and it's a feeling she can relate to. "That's good to know," she adds quietly, and it is. It puts at ease most of her worries, because she knows her mother is being genuine here, and she has nothing to worry of. "I've been staying in my room, here in the Citadel, you know. And, well, I was rummaging through my stuff, both old and recent..." she trails off, a little unsure of how to continue. Her mum is having a soft moment, one that Tessa knows is rare as is, and she kind of wants to broach the topic now, given she hasn't got a clue when she'll have a chance again.
