Okay, so, normally Holly's a stickler for the rules but she also knows her priorities. There's going to be a meteor shower tonight and she doesn't care if it was past curfew. It's Christmas break, so it's not like she has to be up early for class the next day anyway, right? She sits on a blanket on the floor, a book and a tumbler of coffee with her to hep her stay awake.

The most recent stay in hospital - caused by a lovely ruptured appendix - has left Donnie a bit pale and woozy, so much so that he really shouldn't be in school. However, when the other two alternatives are back to hospital or going home, Hogwarts seems much more appealing. There's supposed to be a meteor shower tonight, and the skies look clear enough, so Donnie's made the exhausting trip up the spiral staircase to the top of the tower, where he's hoping to chill out beneath the stars and finally have some time to himself; which is why he's surprised to see a mop of pink hair already in his space. "Oh," he says, not entirely convinced he isn't hallucinating from all the meds. "Wow. Pink hair. I wish I could pull that off."

When she hears the voice, her head snaps towards the source and immediately she looks for some sign that he's a prefect or something. "Anyone can pull off anything with the right level of confidence." she tells him, matter-of-factly. "Two things. One: you look like you're about to collapse, do you need to sit down? And two: if you're here to tell me to go back to my dorms, just so you know, I'm not going to. Don't tell on me, please?"

The way she jumps to attention makes him smirk, like she's just been caught with a bottle of Firewhisky, and then her snippy response makes his eyes light up. A-ha. "Calm down, bubblegum, nobody's going to arrest you for being out after hours." She is right - he does need to sit down. He's been stood up too long and everything's starting to go fuzzy around the edges. So, he flings himself forward and onto one of the crates, not really considering personal space or anything of the like, and tilts his head up to the stars. "Especially not when there's a shower tonight. Everyone will be doing the same thing."

She nods, the expression on her face making it obvious that she finds his words actually reassuring because she really, really does not want to get into trouble. "My name's Holly, not 'bubblegum'." she says, "Even if everyone else is gonna be doing the same thing, hopefully no one else has the energy to go all the way to the top of this tower. I thought I was gonna be alone. If anyone else arrives, I might throw them off. You - you can stay. Just don't faint or anything because I won't deal with that until after the shower finishes."

Holly... he feels like he recognises that name from somewhere, but can't place it in his mind. Give him a minute, it'll come to him. "Well, if you would prefer to be alone, I can easily find another tower to dwell upon," he suggests, knowing full well he isn't moving from this crate until sunrise. "Although I would love to see you throw someone off here. You and all your -" he blinks. "five-foot-four self."

"For your information I'm five-foot-four and a half." she says. (She's not.) "And I could so throw someone off this tower if I tried hard enough." It's obvious she's competitive from the way she talks. "And please don't even try going to another tower. I'm genuinely concerned that you might die on the way. It's like someone should put a FRAGILE: Please handle with care. sticker on your forehead."

"Yes, okay, bubblegum, I'm not quite falling apart just yet," he says, arms folded across his chest like an indignant toddler. The clouds start to spread above them, revealing a sheet of inky blue-blackness, studded with stars. "I don't need to be lectured on fragility by someone who is definitely not five-foot-four and a half."

Feeling like she has to prove something, she stands from her place on the ground and walks over to him, grabbing his wrist (there is no room for respect for personal space when she has to prove a point) to make him stand so she can compare her height against his. Of course, she's not ready for the fact that he is so much freaking taller than her. "Now, that – " she says, referencing his height, " – is just unfair. Okay, but assuming you're like over six feet tall, then it makes sense for me to be five foot four and a half. Also – " She looks up at him to continue her point and instead sees the stars in the sky. She ends up cutting herself off. Stepping back, away from him, to admire it more properly, a soft smile spreads across her face. "Merlin, space is so freaking amazing."

Not gonna lie, it's moments like this when he freaking loves being tall. He towers above her like bloody Goliath, a satisfied smirk on his face as her nose scrunches up with irritation, and he's just about to make some smart remark when the stars become clear and the look of amazement crosses her face. "Well," he says, looking up with her. "Nice to meet someone with their interests in the right place." Orion's out, glittering down on them, and then there's a streak of silver to the north and Donnie's face kind of lights up like a kid on Christmas morning. "Right, get the brandy," he says, cracking his knuckles and leaning back the way you do on a sun lounger. "Show's about to start."

Looking excited, she picks up her tumbler and sits on a crate near him. Bringing her drink to her lips, she takes a sip as the shower begins to intensify. "Do you like space too?" she asks, curious. "I'm gonna be an astronaut one day." she muses out loud.

Oh? He tilts his head to look over to her, an eyebrow quirked. "Apparently, when I was little, I jumped off a balcony once to get closer to the stars." It's not a memory that's particularly stark in his mind, but his parents have told him of it before and it's definitely something he would have done. "It brought me closer to the ground, more than anything, but what do you know." A grin crosses his face, silly and self-deprecating. "As fun as I'm sure going into space would be, we're all apparently troglodytes in the wizarding world. Nobody knows what a rocket ship is, never find how to fly one."

"Thanks for that information. At least now I know if I throw you off the tower you have some experience falling from high places?" she teases him as she watches the shower go on, "And I don't know. Don't you find it weird that we have actual magic on our side and the muggles made it up there first?"

"It's the magic that's holding us back," he sighs, kicking his feet up carelessly on an adjacent crate. "Nothing works when you introduce magic to it." A grimace - ugh, he sounds like his father. "Muggles seem to be much further ahead of us, when you think about it. They've mapped out the entire solar system and sent satellites to half of the planets, but I bet if we managed to figure it out, we'd be able to visit them one day." His eyes light up. He could take the piss and give her some ridiculous fake name... but then he remembers that his real name is just as ridiculous and it's something he'll have to lug about for the rest of his life. Oh, what joy. "Donnie," he says, extending his hand. "Named after the famous FBI agent who infiltrated the mafia and brought do- oh my god, Holly." It finally clicks into place where he's heard the name before, especially associated with pink hair. "River's Holly. Yep. I know you. Thought I did. It's the hair."

This is certainly less grand than he had expected. But then again, Lavrentios was used to the grandness of Beauxbatons. He finds it hard to differentiate between sections of the school. The entire castle seems to be stone and tapestries with random staircases thrown in between. Best castle in the world, my ass. Everything was worse than the school he has left behind. But then again, it's not like he had even wanted to leave in the first place. He thinks he's going up the stairs to the dormitory, but Lavrentios finds himself having a confused expression on his face as he steps in the room. If you could even call it a room. It was just him, and the night sky, and whoever was the boy in front of him. The serpent on his back makes him think that he was a Slytherin, which confuses Lavrentios even further. Aren't robes the rage here? He has to admit the leather jacket looked a million times better than the school uniform. Fearlessly, he steps even further into the moonlight, walking with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, mind showing me the way to the...Ravenclaw? dormitories." Why anyone would want to be surnamed Ravenclaw was beyond him. But his eyes focused to look over the other boy, waiting for a response.

Lavrentios took a second to respond as he studied him. To say he thought he looked interesting was an understatement. Definitely someone to look out for. Friend or foe, who could know? His eyes couldn't help but land on the scar as he looked him over. Wow, he's definitely someone that Lavrentios has to keep an eye on. But the main focus to him is still the serpent on the back of his leather jacket. Do all Slytherins get that leather jacket? Lavrentios should've told the Sorting hat to put him in Slytherin instead. The American accent throws him off a bit as he clears his throat, ready to respond. "As well? Are you also new to the school?" There's a tone of disbelief as he shifts his eyes away from the serpent. "Slither, slither, I assume?" The house name escapes him for a moment, but Lavrentios is sure that the pun of sorts works quite as well.

Snacks. His appetite had disappeared at dinner and he finds himself looking at his snacks. The sky was much more interesting, however. Lavrentios finds himself thinking of that one Taylor Swift song his sister liked to play on repeat. Delicate, if he recalls correctly? It fits the way the night sky looks. "Lavrentios Michelakakis. Too many syllables, I know. Lavri is okay with me, though. I said it before but I'm what they call a 'Ravenclaw'. I'm highly intelligent as they say." He drawls, but it's clear that his words were meant as a witty quip. Lavrentios fumbles his right hand out of his pocket, taking the other's hand and shaking it gracefully. He wants to smile at the mention of the club. How cute. "I love a good club. Didn't even realize there were such things here. Is this an exclusive club or...?"
